BETHLEHEM, (PIC)-- Militias loyal to the de facto president of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas rounded up 28 Palestinian citizens for affiliation or sympathy with Hamas movement including the son of Hamas MP Khaled Tafesh.

Tafesh told the PIC on Wednesday that the militias stormed his home at midnight Wednesday and arrested his son Musab.

He denounced the detention of his son, which, he said, fell in line with a campaign against Hamas deputies in the West Bank.

He charged that the campaign was the price paid by the Fatah-controlled authority in Ramallah to enter into direct talks with Israel.

Local sources reported that those militias detained 28 citizens in the districts of Nablus, Ramallah, Al-Khalil, Qalqilia, Bethlehem, Tobas, Tulkarem, and Jenin over the past 24 hours including a 50-year-old school headmaster.

In a related incident, the illegitimate government of Salam Fayyad dismissed 15 teachers from the village of Beit Kahel for the same reason of suspected sympathy or affiliation with Hamas.
