NABLUS, (PIC)-- Zionist settlers attacked olive groves in Yanun village east of Nablus city and wreaked havoc in the process intentionally breaking trees and stealing olive crops, local sources said.
They said that dozens of settlers from the Itamar settlement near Yanun village attacked the fields on Wednesday and broke 16 trees then stole their fruit and rampaged for hours.
The sources said that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) were in full view of the incident, but would not budge to stop the attack.
Meanwhile, settlers from Yizhar settlement near Huwara village, south of Nablus, uprooted 50 olive trees west of Huwara on Wednesday.
Ghassan Daghlas, the head of a committee monitoring Israeli settlement activity in northern West Bank areas, urged the world community to pressure the Israeli government into stopping the settlers' repeated attacks on olive trees especially with the advent of the olive harvesting season.
