Lebanon is celebrating Wednesday the Resistance and Liberation day in a major festival at Sayyed Abbas Al-Moussawi’s holy shrine in Nabi Shiith village of Bekaa, where Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah is scheduled to deliver a televised speech.
In addition to the major festival that will take place in Bekaa at 5:00 pm, Hezbollah has organized other celebrations in different Lebanese villages.
On the 25th of May 2000, the Israeli enemy was forced to withdraw its occupying forces from most of the Lebanese territories, and the southern residents celebrated returning to their homes and regaining the freedom to move around on their lands after 18 years of occupation and terrorism.
All this was due to the efforts, sacrifices, and sequent operations conducted by the Islamic resistance in Lebanon headed by late Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Abbas Al-Moussawi.
“Preparations for the celebrations have begun one week ago and were completed yesterday, thousands of chairs were rowed in the shrine’s field to receive political and public commemorators, and tens of thousands of flags and slogans were raised all around the village”, Head of Hezbollah's Media Bureau in Bekaa Ahmad Raya told Al-Manar’s website.
Rayya pointed out that “the atmosphere is full of enthusiasm. Participants are expected to start arriving after the noon prayers, especially as the region includes various sacred shrines that could be visited”.
According to the Hezbollah official,
“celebrations were set this year at Sayyed Abbas Al-Moussawi’s shrine because of the symbol behind this Man. Sayyed Abbas Al-Moussawi was the first to foresee this victory when he delivered a speech saying that “Israel toppled down”. He said these words after the resistance’s operations that targeted the enemy’s locations in the South of Lebanon.”
“This figure had a major role in the resistance’s emergence and leadership,” Rayya stressed.
This national day broke the popular saying that regarded the Israeli army as invincible; it revealed that what was taken by force could only be restored by force; it brought a new hope to the Arab world.
