Bahar: PLC to monitor implementation of reconciliation agreement

[ 10/05/2011 - 06:34 PM ]

GAZA, (PIC)-- First deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council Dr. Ahmed Bahar has said that the council would closely monitor the implementation of the reconciliation agreement and would support all efforts towards its success.

Bahar said in a press release on Tuesday that all indications point to true and genuine intentions by all parties to ensure success of the agreement.

He said that the agreement would return the Palestine cause to its natural course, noting that it cornered Israel and turned its entire schemes upside down.

The PLC official described the agreement as a strategic achievement, advocating directing all efforts towards key issues such as the Judaization of occupied Jerusalem and holy shrines, settlement drive, the separation wall, prisoners and others.

PLC speaker Dr. Aziz Al-Dweik, for his part, called in a message on Monday on the Arab and Islamic parliament speakers to back the agreement.

He said in a message that the support would provide a solid ground for confronting Israeli occupation’s plots.
