RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation authorities arrested Monday Hamas’s Mohammed Mansour Hamdan, 51, from his home in Bala’a north of Tulkarem city in the West Bank, the Ahrar prisoner studies center.

Mansour was released just two years ago after serving 25 years in Israeli custody.

Israeli occupation forces broke into the home and tampered with its contents and confiscated his computer before arresting him and taking him to an unknown destination, sources in Mansour’s family said.

Mansour finished his higher education while in detention in 2000 and authored a book in 2006 on the American war in Iraq. He is in the process of completing a master’s thesis.

Mansour was arrested in 1985 and sentenced to 25 years in prison, a term which he served in full. He spent three years in prison prior to that after he was arrested in 1979.

The Ahrar center called on human rights organizations to pressure the Israeli government into releasing Mansour, emphasizing the need to exert every effort to see his release.
