Aruri: German mediator was not honest
[ 30/06/2011 - 11:16 AM ]
DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Political bureau member of Hamas Saleh Al-Aruri has charged that the German mediator in the prisoners’ exchange deal between his movement and Israel had lacked integrity.
He explained in a statement to a website on Thursday that the mediator adopted all Israeli conditions for the swap deal, which were very harsh and unfair, while he should have tried to ease those conditions in order to facilitate conclusion of the deal.
Aruri said that the Israeli offer stipulated among other things excluding certain names, delaying release of others for many years, and deporting some of the released prisoners.
He said that his movement was keen on concluding an honorable deal that would be satisfactory for prisoners and their families, holding the Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu and his government responsible for the lack of any tangible progress in the exchange deal.
