Who is responsible fot the Fall of Tal al-Za'atar

Franklin Lamb"Relations between Syria and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon’s 12 camps and as many ‘gatherings’have been complicated since the early 1970’s as Syria played the Palestinian card in the international arena in competition with Yassar Arafat and was inconsistent in its attitudes and actions toward the refugees during the Lebanese civil war including participating in the 1976 massacre at the Tel al Zaatar Palestinian refugee camp." Franklin Lamb.

Frank used to send me the SMR, saturday mideast reports he writes for Al-manar to do the graphics. He believes I am the best. Actually I am not. I just read the article, digest it, and search for the right picture supporting the opinion. In other words I am using graphics as a tool to comment on the posts I publish.

"A picture is worth a thousand words"

Pictures are available, but you should know history and have a good political knowledge, to find the right picture.

Few weeks ago, after reading Franklin's above SMR, I told him that I wan't do the graphics because I can't spread the Shatila  NGO’s lies, disinformation about Syria "participating in the 1976 massacre at the Tel al Zaatar, and the media lies about PFLP General Command, killing demonstratos in Yarmouk refigee camp. Consequently, according to Frank's sources contacts,
"Palestinian refugee camp" and "The 'uprising' in Syria has re-opened some old wounds in Shatila camp and between the Baathist Assad regime, now in its 41styear, and Lebanon’s Palestinian refugees"
On seeing the SMR published by CounterPunch, Salim News and other sites, I decided to publish it with my graphics and text comment.
The main points are:
  • Yes the Syrian Palestinian relationship is comlicated not only with Palestinians in Lebanon, but with Lebanon and Jordan. Palestinian refugee community in Lebanon and elsewhere is divided because of the so-called "Strian uprising" its divided since "Father Palestine", Arafat, called for "independent Palestinian national decision", in other words since the very begining of Fateh.
  • Arafat, not Syria, be blamed for that complication. Arafat is responsible for the ongoing Palestinian NAKBA, since he founded his Fateh in 1958, including the1976 massacre at the Tel al Zaatar Palestinian refugee camp.
The SMR was not published by Al-manar. I guess for the same reason.

Concerning the claim about Syria participation in Tal al-Za'atar massacre, read nagi alloush, an Ex-Fateh leader, telling the real story Tal al-Za'atar
"I remememer when Tal al-Za'tar camp was under siege, our fellows inside the camp, told us that the camp could be saved, and there is no reason to consider it as fallen military. At that time we were fighting the Lebanese forces in the the heart of Beirut, trying to stop the massacres in the camp. As the Deputy to Abu Daoud we started preparing to break the siege on Tal al-Za'tar area, I was called to present the plan before the military councel. The plan was approved but given to others to be foiled   in implementation, which ascended the conflict between us and the leadership. Abu Dawood concluded that leadership does not want to save the Tal al-Za'tar area.

Arafat ended the story of Tal al-Za'tar by excuting Abu Ahmed and Abu Imad, the leaders of Tal al-Za'tar who fought for 55 days, and managed to withdraw under fire with 500 fighters.

On the spring of 1978, Arafat abducted Abu Ahmed and Abu Imad from the area of Damour where homeless camp Tal al-Za'tar refugees were accomodated and excuted them in Arabic University in area in Beirut, by false accusation, because politically and organizationally the ere linked us. Their excution came in the context of an aggressive campaign to eradicate our bases and our extensions within Fatah which included arrests and dogfights and internal qualifiers ...." Nagi Alloush

In the following interview Nagi Alloush, said, the successful withdrawal of Tal al-Za'tar fighter, prove that our plan to save the camp could be successfully implemented. When asked why people blame syria for the fall of Tal al-Za'tar, Nagi said: its a lie fabricated by Abu Iyad.

Who is responsible fot the Fall of Tal al-Za'atar

"The Lebanese Front were supported and advised by Lebanese army officers. The PLO claimed that Syrian and Israeli advisers were also present, but this does not appear to be the case....
" Arafat appealed to his fighters to turn Tal al-Zaatar into 'a [{Battle of Stalingrad|Stalingrad]]'. At one point during a ceasefire, Arafat told his men to agree to surrender and then he ordered his senior officers to open fire on the Lebanese forces, so as to enrage the Lebanese."

Robert Fisk wrote in his biographical profile of Yasser Arafat, The Broken Revolutionary, "When Arafat needed martyrs in 1976, he called for a truce around the besieged refugee camp of Tel el-Zaatar, then ordered his commanders in the camp to fire at their right-wing Lebanese Christian enemies. When, as a result, the Phalangists and "Tigers" militia slaughtered their way into Tel el-Zaatar, Arafat opened a "martyrs' village" for camp widows in the sacked Christian village of Damour.

On his first visit, the widows pelted him with stones and rotten fruit. Journalists were ordered away at gunpoint."
