Islamists start destroying more African Islamic culture in Mali

Modern Tokyo Times

Black African Islamic culture in Mali is famous because of the liberal traditions which are associated with the many amazing mosques, other forms of architecture and the rich history of knowledge. However, thousands of “year zero Islamists” have entered this nation because of internal political convulsions and the collapse of authority in Libya after the fall of Gaddafi. Indeed, in Libya many Sufi shrines have also been attacked by Islamists.

It is abundantly clear that the new forms of Islamist indoctrination which is being spread to Syria, Mali, Somalia, and a host of other nations throughout the world, is based on the backward nature of Salafi Islam and the draconian ways of Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states. After all, in modern day Saudi Arabia all apostates face the death penalty, other branches of Islam outside of Salafism are deemed to be un-pure, not one non-Muslim place of worship is allowed and you have many other brutal realities. Therefore, the beauty of black African Islam in parts of northern Mali faces being obliterated, just like Buddhism and Hinduism have been wiped-out in Afghanistan after Islamization.

In Syria ancient architecture also faces being destroyed by Islamists and just like in northern Mali, other sects within Islam are deemed to be infidels. This reality means that Shia holy places in Syria are being destroyed by radical Sunni Islamists. Likewise, other minority communities like the Alawites and Christians face a very bleak future if Islamists take control of secular Syria. Yet, astonishingly, America, the United Kingdom and France are on the side of sectarianism and religious hatred in Syria because these nations support Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and other Gulf states, which are sponsoring and giving support to Islamists, terrorists and mercenaries.

Recently, Channel 4 from the United Kingdom interviewed soldiers from the Syrian armed forces. They rightly stated that they are trying to stem the tide of terrorism and Salafi Islamism which threatens the mosaic of this nation. However, the Syrian soldiers couldn’t understand why Western powers are in cohorts with Al-Qaeda and other Islamist terrorist groups in Syria. After all, in Syria many religious groups are based throughout the country and this secular nation represents similar international values which can be found in all modern societies. Despite this, political elites in London, Paris and Washington continue to support the draconian reality of Saudi Arabia, which enslaves women, persecutes minority Muslim sects and non-Muslims.

Meanwhile in Mali more news is coming out of this nation which states that Islamists are destroying ancient Mali Islamic culture once more. Abou Dardar from Ansar Dine, which is an Islamist organization, commented that “Not a single mausoleum will remain in Timbuktu.” This threat must be taken seriously because Ansar Dine is known to have destroyed a great deal of ancient Islamic architecture, history and culture already in places like Timbuktu.

Images of Islamists beheading people in Syria, burning people alive in Pakistan over alleged blasphemy, stoning people to death in Somalia and killing converts to Christianity, and other brutal realities; should awaken nations to the menace of Islamist organizations throughout the Gulf, wealthy individuals and organizations sponsoring terrorism – and the role of networks within government institutions. However, it appears that Western democracies will do little to tackle the energy resource rich monarchy states of the Gulf. Therefore, a great deal of evil is being spread far and wide because of this reality. More alarming, political elites in London, Paris and Washington also manipulate Islamist terrorist networks based on self-interests and geopolitical desires when it suits them.

Afghanistan in the 1980s witnessed the CIA, ISI from Pakistan and other secret agents from the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, which supported the international jihadist movement. The same “marriage of convenience” emerged in Bosnia and Libya and more recently this is now happening in Syria. Until this “marriage of convenience” is broken and Gulf Islamism is targeted then little will change.

Ansar Dine proudly stated that “We are in the process of smashing all the hidden mausoleums in the area.” At the same time, new reports state that two individuals have had their hands chopped off because of alleged crimes in Mali. One can only imagine what will happen to converts to Christianity if Ansar Dine finds Christian apostates. If Somalia is anything to go by, then sadly this will mean the murder of individuals based on thinking freely. This in a nutshell sums up the draconian reality of Saudi Arabia and the various Islamist movements which are butchering and destroying in so many nations.

Robert Tilford, reporting in the Examiner, hit the nail on the head when he stated that “It seems Mali has become a “magnet for foreign fighters”, who are flocking into that country to train new recruits to use weapons recently misappropriated from Libya in the confusion and mess of the U.S. backed regime change.”

“Islamic militants associated with Ansar Dine, and al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb [AQIM] are “recruiting” young Tuareg boys with promises of food to eat ( a luxury for some in Mail) and money, are teaching them to hate the West and use weapons in a network of madrassas or religious schools, funded by our friends in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.”

Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states are spending vast petro-dollars on spreading Sunni Islamist indoctrination all over the world. These nations will use Islamic fundamentalists when the time suits them in nations like Mali and Syria; then, at other times, they will try to spread Islam by propaganda.

All civilizations are being threatened by this reality including various different Muslim civilizations which can be found in nations like Mali and Syria. Western nations should be supporting the rich civilization of nations like Mali and Syria because they show a side which naturally fits into modernity and internationalism. However, the schizophrenic elites in London, Paris and Washington oppose Islamism in Mali but openly support sectarianism, indoctrination and terrorism against secular Syria. Therefore, elites in the West must stop allying themselves with dark forces in the Gulf. After all, the supporters of terrorism in Afghanistan in the 1980s unleashed Islamist dark forces which are continuing to destroy progressive forces within Afghanistan and Pakistan.
