Oct. 6th Communique from People’s Defense Units – Media Center
ISIS terrorist attacks aiming at the occupation of Kobani continue on the 21st day. Mercenary groups repeatedly shell the city on three sides and attempt to enter the town. Direct confrontations and heavy clashes are continuing at the eastern and southern fronts, Megtel and Botan neighborhooods.
Mercenary groups attacked the hill Mishtenur on two sides and attempted to enter the town last night in southeast Kobani, but the advance of the mercenaries was stopped as a result of our force’s heavy repulse, where fighting continues in the mentioned areas, yet we cannot confirm the number of dead of the mercenaries.
At the western front our units repulsed terrorist attacks on three sides, managed to inflict big losses on the mercenaries and forced them to retreat, again we cannot confirm the number of dead of the attackers.
Mercenaries attempted to attack with a car bomb last night on the eastern front. Our forces were able to destroy the vehicle before reaching the defensive lines and killing two attackers.
In the morning hours mercenaries attacked Kanya Kurdan area from three sides, and clashes erupted between our units and the terrorists. According to what has been confirmed 8 mercenaries were killed as a result of these clashes which are ongoing in the area.
Meanwhile at the eastern front our units carried out an operation against terrorists, targeting their sites. Our troops managed to destroy a military vehicle of the ISIS fighters without confirming the number of dead in their ranks.
ISIS terrorist attacks that aim at the occupation of Kobani and the elimination of the Kurdish will and are continuing at the moment and has entered it’s twentieth days, the unparalleled resistance of our units will enable us to change the balance of the world.
Since yesterday morning hours the violent clashes have not stopped. Where the heaviest clashes took place at the southern and eastern front of the city, in direct confrontations, 74 ISIS mercenaries were killed according to what has been confirmed by our troops.
As a result of remarkable resistance by our units on all sides of the city, repelling the invaders attacks, 15 of our comrades are martyred in action after facing the mercenaries with all their strength.
Our troops also carried out an operation against ISIS terrorists yesterday near the villages of Misteriha and Qadisiye, southeast Jaz’ah region. A military vehicle was destroyed and 8 of the mercenaries were ambushed and 4 of them were killed.
In the southwestern of Serekaniye city near the village of Dahma, our units carried out an operation targeting the movements of the mercenary groups, resulting in 4 killed ISIS fighters.
Of our martyrs was valiant comrade Arin [Mirkan], who was able to perform a fedai action, blowing herself up and killing dozens of ISIS mercenaries to stop their advance. Such strong will and determination shown by comrade Arin will be the spirit of resistance in the hearts of all of our combatants of the People’s Defense Units and Women’s Defense Units. If needed all of our fighters will be comrade Arin and shall not allow the mercenaries to reach their wishes at whatever cost.
