Leader of Ansarullah group in Yemen accused on Sunday the United States and the Zionist entity of supporting the recent terrorist attacks that targeted two mosques in the capital of Sanaa on Friday.
In a televised address tackling mainly Friday's deadly attacks, Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said some countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar are financing acts of terror in the Middle East region and beyond.
He called on all Yemenis to rise up against terrorists groups operating in Yemen, noting that the Yemeni people are not safe in any other place.
"Everyone is a target,” he said.
Branches of the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL) Takfiri group and the terrorist al-Qaeda organization in Yemen are claiming responsibilities for the brutal crimes of de-establishing security and targeting the Yemeni people.
Over 140 people were killed and more than 350 suffered injuries in three bomb attacks at the Badr mosque in southern Sana’a and the al-Hashoosh mosque in the northern part of the capital. The ISIL Takfiri terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attacks.
"The attacks show that terrorists are unfamiliar with humane values, Sayyed Houthi said, adding that the attacks have uncovered the vicious nature of the perpetrators.
The attackers are seeking to humiliate the Yemeni people and force them to surrender, Houthi stated.
“But they are of course mistaken,” he stressed.
He further noted that the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi is being used as a "puppet" to target the people in the country.
Hadi, along with members of Prime Minister Khaled Bahah’s cabinet, stepped down in late January. He then fled his home in Sana’a to Aden, Yemen’s second largest city in the south, where he officially withdrew his resignation and highlighted his intention to resume duties.
Hadi's militiamen are fighting the Yemeni army and popular committees to occupy the state's facilities in an attempt to establish a rival governance in the country.
Some Persian Gulf Arab states, including Saudi Arabia, have already relocated their embassies from Sana’a to Aden.
