UP, look at this article.

http://www.lorientlejour.com/category/Liban/article/650024/Abbas_pour_un_desarmement_palestinien_total_au_Liban.html

(In case you cannot read French it says that Abbas has urged the complete disarmament of the Palestinian camps in Lebanon, saying that being armed is an attempt against the Lebanese sovereignty. And adds: "we" -he says- won't support a third armed resistance)

This buffoon did not have enough with Sabra and Chatila...
I cannot stand this scoundrel any longer, he really hits my nerves.

Dear LU

No surprise, the Issue was on the National Dialogue Table since 2006, Lebanese parties agreed on the disarmament of Palestinian factions outside (NOT INSIDE) the refugee camps.

I can't buy the story of keeping the Camps armed to prevent another Sabra and Shatilla. During the lebanese civil war, the Palestinian refugees were considered the Sunni army, and now Fateh is still considered by Hariri Future Movement as the Sunni army. So the target was and still is the ARMS of PFLP- General Command and Fateh Al-Intifada (loyal to Syria), not the Arms Fateh thugs in South Lebanon refugee Camps.

Take it from
Sultan Abul Aynain, Fatah’s commander in Lebanon Fatah. His mission is preventing Al-Qaeda (HE MENT HAMAS) from infiltrating Lebanon camps, not preventing another Sabra and Shatila.

So, as far as Lebanon Government is concerned, the Problem is is not the Armed Camps, it is the Palestinian factions Arms outside the refugee camps that should be disarmed.

The Question is who would disarm Palestinian factions outside Camps and how?

I said the Lebanese parties agreed on 2006 on the disarmament of Palestinian factions outside (NOT INSIDE) the refugee camps but by negociation, not by force.
After 3 years nothing happened, so whats new??

According to March 14 movement reports the miltary exercise on Lebanese/Syrian borders held by Palestinian Factions loyal to Syria put the Fatah-Intifada Arms on Cabinet Agenda, and renewed the calls for disarming Palestinian Factions, and Fatah al-Intifada Movement rejected disarming Palestinian militants outside the refugee camps in Lebanon.

I think, if there is such military exercise ( Palestinians deny holding military exercise in Lebanon), it was trigered by Israeli threats against Lebanon, Syria, and Iran.

During Tel Aviv University talk, Biden called for the implementation of the international resolution 1701 with the "aim" of "disarming" Hezbollah! (Resolutions 1559).

So, nothing new except that Abass is talking about disarming refugee camps. Abbas, in harmony with Biden's Israeli's and  march 14's call to disarm Hezballa, is offering a backage: His arms inside camps, against Resistance Arms outside camps. His message is: I am not the problem. The problem is Hezballah.

Moreover, I would say, Abbas is losing the grounds on Refugee Camps, specially in Beirut, North and East leabanon.

There is reports about  an Uprising by Fatah officers at the Palestinian refugee camps of Tyre Ahead of Abbas' Visit to Beirut.

Connecting the Dots I would say, Usrael is facing two bitter options. To go to war without gurantees that it would won that war, or stay silent watching Resistance Groups and Supporting countties getting stronger and stronger evey day.

America is stuck in Iraqi and Afghanistan Sands.

The only option available is using the Zionist Loby in Lebanon at least to neutralize Hezballa, and spoil Syrian achievents in Lebanon.

Out of sudden the Lebanese President called for national dialogue on Defence strategy and Williams Lauds Lebanon's National Dialogue on, Arms Outside State Control'

Bedin instructed Abbas to Jump, and Abbas asked how high.
Moreover, Bedin told Netanyahu behind closed doors: You are spoiling our plan and putting the lives of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan at Risk,

UPDATE

[ 14/03/2010 - 09:55 AM ]

DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command (PFLP-GC) accused Mahmoud Abbas, the Fatah leader and the PA chief whose term in office expired in January last year, of inciting against Palestinian resistance's weapons.

The PFLP-GC said in a statement on Saturday that Abbas's statement that the Palestinian weapon was not necessary in Lebanon was endangering the Palestinian refugee camps.

It said that Abbas has forgotten or pretended to forget that he and his likes shoulder the responsibility for what happened to those refugee camps and the dangers that engulfed them as a prelude to wipe out the refugees' right of return.

The Front also charged that Abbas was fuelling tension in the camps with his call for removing arms from within and outside them.

Thank you for connecting the dots. Abbas's call has prompted a quick response from PFLP-GC:

(the article is in Spanish, but here is a rough translation of its first paragraphs)

"A Palestinian group criticized Abbas for calling for the disarmament of refugees in Lebanon
12/3/10

Beirut, March 12 (EFE) .- The Palestinian group Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC of Ahmed Jibril) today criticized the president of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Mahmoud Abbas for calling for a total disarmament of the palestinian refugees in Lebanon.

In a statement, the PFLP-GC said that with his words, "Abbas tries to increase tension in the camps, demanding the withdrawal of all weapons" and warned that the statement of the President of the PNA could lead to a new Naher el Bared. (...)"

UP,

Professor PETRAS maybe could have said it louder, but not clearer - as the proverb says.

(Every week Petras talks over various issues with Radio Centenario, Uruguay. This week, one of the questions posed was about Abbas accepting "negotiations" again. Here is Petras's reply -my translation-)

THE PALESTINIAN NATIONAL AUTHORITY IS BOUGHT BY THE UNITED STATES

Question: Petras, what is it that now the Palestinians agreed to talk to Israel through the USA administration? All that is hard to believe, can it be ...

Petras: "It is not difficult if we identify the Palestinians who are involved with the Palestinian Authority. They have been purchased over the years by the United States. They have even collaborated with Israel in many cases against the democratic government of Gaza. They killed opponents of Israel. They have accepted a series of israeli interventions, mainly in the area where the Authority governs. This authority receives hundreds of millions of dollars to keep his mouth shut. All its leaders are millionaires, they have accounts in London, Zurich or New York. They're corrupt millionaires willing to accept any U.S. pressure and willing to collaborate with Israel. While Israel expands the settlements, they complain but capitulate. It is one of the most corrupt and traitor groups of people that I've known in the world. I know of no other group more corrupt than this one, more willing to accept the conditions of colonization, all the world around. There are few traitors who accept the colonization of their country and the eviction of their own people. They are the worst kind of representatives of an oppressed people. Thus, I'm not surprised at all by what they accept. When they have millions in overseas accounts they are willing to do whatever it takes to betray their people."

P.S.: UP, I'm having problems to access the PIC site for some days now. Can you visit it normally, as before? I also noticed that their feed-link on my blog is not updated anymore. Also, Google doesn't show PICS links properly, shows them as broken. I don't know what to do or how to solve it. Would like to know if more people are experiencing this, or... could it be censorship by "my dear prozio leaders", kind of filtering it?

.

Thank you UP for yr advice. I'll try to do it. I can visit it through a proxy though, but cannot get the PICs links, since URLs visited through proxy become encripted.

Thanks a lot. I'll do it. For me moment I'm copying the links from your blog, which also don't allow me to access their site. So the problem appears to be either with my computer or with "something strange" over here. I'm running the antivirus, just in case.

Thanks again for your help.
