BEIRUT, (PIC)-- Osama Hamdan, the representative of Hamas in Lebanon, has said that the Arab countries were before an historic opportunity to end the settlement process after it had proven its failure.

He said in a press statement on Sunday that resistance is the only option as proven by events on the ground, referring to the Lebanon war in 2006 and the Gaza war in 2009, recalling that the people had voted for resistance in the Palestinian general elections.

Hamdan, meanwhile, belittled the importance of the so-called American-Israeli differences on conditions for resuming Palestinian-Israeli talks.

He said that Israel was planning a final economic solution for the Middle East crisis envisaging cheap Palestinian labor coupled with European support for an authority that would preserve the security of Israel.

For his part, Hamas MP Mushir Al-Masri said in a statement in Gaza on Sunday that the future was for Hamas after all parties realized that his movement was hard to break and would not budge from its positions.

Hamas has passed through a unique experience and all pressures on it had failed in achieving their goals, he underlined.
