Ansar: Include prisoners of 1948 land in exchange deal

GAZA, (PIC)-- Ansar Al-Asra organization said Sunday that four Palestinian prisoners from the 1948 occupied lands completed their 25th year in Israeli jails and nearly joined the list known as the “generals of patience,” a title that is given to those who have spent more than a quarter century in prison

In a press release, the organization added that the names of prisoners who entered their 25th year in prison are Ibrahim Abu Mukh, Rushdi Abu Mukh, Waleed Daka and Ibrahim Bayadsa.

It pointed out that the four prisoners were detained in March 1986 on charges of resisting the occupation and each of them has been serving life imprisonment since then.

The organization underlined that Israel deals with the Palestinian prisoners from the 1948 occupied lands as Israeli citizens holding blue IDs and deprives them of many rights and privileges granted to Jewish inmates, adding that many of them were also excluded from swap and release deals because Israel considers their release and detention a purely internal issue.

It urged the captors of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit to include the names of all prisoners from the 1948 occupied lands, especially those who served long periods in any future swap deal.
