OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- A group of Israeli extremists is planning to storm the Aqsa Mosque next week on the occasion of the Passover Jewish holiday and slaughter offerings in its courtyards.
Sheikh Kamal Al-Khatib, the deputy head of the Islamic Movement in 1948, warned that Jewish extremists called for attacking the Aqsa Mosque one day after the opening of the ruin synagogue near the Aqsa Mosque.
Sheikh Khatib told Al-Jazeera net that these groups had submitted a formal request to the Israeli police in order to receive a permission to perform their offering rituals on Passover on 29 and 30 March.
The Islamic Movement official added that the Israeli police would allow these groups to perform their rituals in the holy Mosque, but he affirmed that because Israel barred men from visiting the Mosque, the crowds of Palestinian women who are allowed in will confront any Zionist break-in.
He noted that rabbi Shalom Dov Valfa, the head of save the land of Israel group, also stated days ago that the Jews would build the temple of Solomon on the ruins of the Aqsa Mosque.
The Islamic official warned that Israel’s repeated break-ins and attacks on the Aqsa Mosque are aimed to test the reactions of the Arab and Muslim worlds before it takes the next step.
For his part, Palestinian specialist in Israeli affairs Dr. Adnan Abu Amer said that the remarks made lately by premier Benjamin Netanyahu about the issue of the occupied city of Jerusalem confirmed what was declared by his interior minister Eli Yishai about the establishment of more housing units in the settlement of Ramat Shlomo in east Jerusalem.
In a statement to the Palestinian information center (PIC) on Monday, Dr. Abu Amer said that Netanyahu’s remarks also undoubtedly affirmed that Israel would refuse any pressure made on it to accept Jerusalem as a capital of two states.
He warned that if the Arab and Muslim worlds did not move immediately to address the dangers threatening Jerusalem, Israel would feel encouraged to seize the entire holy city and not to give the Palestinians even part of it.
In the same context, the Hamas change and reform parliamentary bloc appealed to the parliament speakers of the member states in the organization of the Islamic conference to take practical step to protect the Aqsa Mosque and make more tangible and political efforts to stop Israel from Judaizing the Islamic holy sites.
In a letter sent to the speakers on Monday, the bloc called on them to work on activating the general Arab and Muslim boycott of Israel and passing laws that prohibit making concessions on Jerusalem.
It also urged them to work on exposing the Israeli violations committed against Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque in international conferences and meetings, filing lawsuits with international courts against Israeli war criminals and establishing an Islamic-Arab fund to save the Aqsa Mosque and strengthen the steadfastness of Jerusalemites in the face of the Israeli occupation.
