GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Ahmed Bahar, the first deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council, and the popular front for the liberation of Palestine (PFLP) on Monday lashed out at the resolutions of the Arab summit that concluded in Libya two days ago.
Bahar said in a press release on Monday evening that the outcome of the summit did not live up to the aspirations of the Palestinian and Arab masses.
He said that the summit ignored all demands for a re-evaluation of the Arab peace initiative, which would only weaken the Palestinian position and strengthen the Israeli one.
For its part, the PFLP in a statement said that the summit did not confront the Israeli occupation's de facto situations which it imposes on daily basis through settlement drive, siege, aggression, denial of Palestinian rights and disregard of international laws and agreements.
The Arab summit focused on the Israeli settlement drive, describing it as an obstacle to the peace process, the PFLP said, adding that such a position spreads illusions anew regarding a possible peace settlement.
The summit's unwillingness to seek alternative solutions to that of negotiations would only prolong the state of division and impede Arab solidarity.
