Hamas lawmaker in occupied Jerusalem Mohamed Abu-Teir said Tuesday the Fatah-controlled Palestinian Authority (PA) conspired with Israel to imprison lawmakers in the latter’s jails after Hamas Movement won a landslide victory in the legislative election. The Hamas lawmaker pointed out that during his detention for four years, he was sent to Israeli courts 100 times and saw difficult days especially as he was being transported from prison to court.
He added that he was demanded to compensate the families of Israeli settlers who were killed by Palestinians and charged with being affiliated with the Hamas change and reform parliamentary bloc.
GAZA, (PIC)-- The international campaign to release Palestinian lawmakers held in Israeli occupation authority (IOA) jails urged the world parliaments to seriously act and pressure the IOA to halt repressive measures against Jerusalemite MPs.
MP Mushir Al-Masri, the head of the campaign, proposed in a statement on Monday coordinating parliamentary efforts to put an end to the IOA criminal practices.
He said that the IOA should be brought to trial for crimes against Palestinian lawmakers, adding that the Israeli internal security minister's decision to rescind Jerusalemite IDs of those deputies, which cancel their residence rights in Jerusalem, was in violation of their rights and in violation of the Geneva convention and The Hague agreement prohibiting the transfer of people of occupied lands against their will.
In another development, the Israeli parliament was discussing a proposal to strip Arab MPs of their immunity for visiting Libya and meeting its leader Muammer Al-Gaddafi last month.
