Hamas holds Abbas militias responsible for life of Qassam leader

JENIN, (PIC)-- Mahmoud Abbas's security militias on Saturday kidnapped Mohamed Abu Khalifa, one of the prominent leaders of Al-Qassam Brigades in Jenin refugee camp, one week after his release from Israeli jails.

Hamas held the PA preventive security full responsibility for the life of Abu Khalifa and demanded his immediate release.

Abbas's militias raided the home of Al-Qassam leader on his release day a week ago and handed him a summons to head immediately to the headquarters of the preventive security and held his ID to ensure he would come.

In another context, the families of detainees in PA jails said the PA courts issued more than 65 imprisonment sentences against their sons, most of them ex-detainees in Israeli jails, and often used the same charges leveled by Israeli courts against them.

The committee representing these families stated in a statement on Saturday that the PA security apparatuses are still detaining hundreds of Palestinians because of their political affiliations with a marked escalation in torture acts that led to the transfer of dozens of them to hospitals.

The committee said that the silence of human rights institutions and media outlets towards such violations encouraged Abbas's illigal militias and military courts to issue unjust sentences against citizens.

It appealed to Al-Jazeera satellite channel to shed light on and expose the violations committed by Abbas's militias in the West Bank.
