Israelis demonstrate during cabinet meeting demanding exchange deal
[ 25/07/2010 - 06:13 PM ]
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Relatives of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, captured by Palestinian resistance in Gaza, along with dozens of supporters demonstrated on Sunday in front of the Israeli council of ministers demanding expediting a prisoners' exchange deal.
The demo was meant as further pressure on the Israeli government that has been refusing to conclude a prisoners' swap deal with the Palestinian resistance according to the latter's terms.
The Hebrew radio said that the demonstrators spread confusion in the area to the extent that two ministers went out of the cabinet session and asked the demonstrators to calm down.
Noam Shalit, the father of the captured soldier, had expressed denunciation and absolute dismay at the government's failure in dealing with the issue of his son who recently completed four years in captivity.
