JENIN, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) detained 40 Palestinian citizens in various West Bank areas at dawn Thursday most of them from one family in Jenin district, local sources reported.

They said that the IOF troops rounded up tens of civilians in the districts of Jenin, Al-Khalil, Qalqilia, Ramallah, and Nablus after storming houses and wreaking havoc on private property.

Locals said that the soldiers detained 30 Palestinians in Jalbon village, east of Jenin, most of them from Abul Rub family, noting that the soldiers entered the village aboard 30 army vehicles.

They said that almost all detainees were known for their Hamas affiliation and some of them were previously held by the militias of Mahmoud Abbas and the IOF.

Five citizens were rounded up in Asira Al-Shamaliya village near Nablus after storming their homes, one of which was severely damaged in the process.

Locals said that IOF troops searched homes in villages south of Al-Khalil.
