Israeli Rabbis Predict “Bloody War” This Month

06/08/2010 The Israeli daily Maariv reported on its Website that “a long line of rabbis” declared that Israel will engage in a ‘bloody war’ this month.

According to the report, rabbi Amnon Yitzhak said during a lecture last week that the recent training of Israeli troops on helicopters in Romania was aimed at making it possible to “attack distant countries, the government of Hamas, and the government of Lebanon during the next war with Hezbollah.”

The Ultra-Orthodox rabbi added that “no wars will take place in the winter” because “the (Israeli) army will not be dragged to drown in the winter mud of Lebanon.”

Maariv said that the Orthodox site "Disable square" noted that Rabbi Eliezer Berland, the leading rabbi of Breslov, predicted that Israel will engage in war August 2, but the war did not break out. The daily however reminded that “a day later, Israel almost got involved in war,” following the incident between he Israeli army and the Lebanese army in the south Lebanese town of Odaisseh.
