NABLUS, (PIC)-- Jewish settlers on Thursday set fire to cars and sabotaged water tanks during attacks running rampant around the nothern West Bank city of Nablus after settlers were found stabbed to death in nearby Itamar settlement less than a week back.

Settlers from Itamar southeast of Nablus vandalized olive trees east of the Awarta village, where the majority of attacks took place.

Israeli bulldozers razed private land there, witnesses reported, adding that a road was being built and tents were pitched east of the city.
Villagers expressed fear that settlers erected a new settlement outpost there, as several olive trees were uprooted and mobile homes were erected.

Meanwhile, settlers set fire to two cars Thursday night at the entrance to the Qadumim settlement on the Nablus-Qalqiliya highway as the Israeli army set up cameras to monitor the movement of Palestinians around the settlement.

Dozens of Jews from the Yitzhar settlement south of Nablus were reported to have thrown stones and bottles at Palestinian cars on the same highway and sabotaged several water tanks south of the city.

Witnesses pointed out settlers from Itamar damaged four water tanks and cut down about 100 olive trees in the Arma area between the villages of Beita and Aqraba south of Nablus.
