Netanyahu: Jordan Valley would remain under Israeli control
[ 08/03/2011 - 06:39 PM ]
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu renewed assertion that his government would not relinquish control on the Jordan Valley in any future settlement.
Netanyahu, who was speaking during a tour of the Jordan Valley on Tuesday, said that Israel's secure border is at the Jordan Valley, describing it as the indispensable defense line.
He said that a loose control on the border would mean an influx of missiles and projectiles that would reach Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Beer Sheba, and all "areas of Israel".
