Syria Tiger Forces leave Aleppo to liberate Palmyra
17/12/2016
BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:55 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army’s elite “Tiger Forces” have begun their long and arduous journey from the Aleppo Governorate to the vast Syrian Desert in eastern Homs, where they are set participate in the liberation of Palmyra. In March, the Tiger Forces, alongside the Desert Hawks Brigade, were deployed to the Palmyra front in order to lead the operation to liberate the city from the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham” (ISIS). However, unlike the previous liberation operation in Palmyra, there has been no mention of the Desert Hawks being redeployed to this front, meaning that the Tiger Forces will likely be leading the charge to the ancient city. The Tiger Forces are no stranger to the Syrian Desert; in fact, their third major operation during this conflict was conducted at the Al-Sha’er Mountains, which is located just north of Palmyra. With the battle for Aleppo City all but over, the Tiger Forces can now concentrate on the oil fields in eastern Homs that were all recently seized by the Islamic State terrorists.
BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:15 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a major military operation in the western countryside of Palmyra this weekend in order to pave the way for their upcoming offensive to liberate the oil fields of eastern Homs from the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham” (ISIS).
Led by the 800th Regiment of the Republican Guard and Hezbollah, the Syrian Armed Forces managed to capture several sites from the Islamic State terrorists on Saturday night, marking a swift end to the terrorist group’s two week long offensive.
According to a military source at the T-4 Airbase in eastern Homs, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah seized the Al-Sha’arah Hills and several sites north of the Abandoned Base, resulting in the death of several terrorist combatants.
In the coming days, the Syrian Armed Forces will likely attempt to reach the outskirts of the Mahr Oil Fields, where they hope the Syrian Arab Army’s elite “Tiger Forces” can take over the operation to expel the remaining terrorists in the area.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:10 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) conducted a large-scale cleansing operation around the T-4 Airport in the western countryside of Palmyra on Saturday night, targeting the several hilltops located just north of this strategic military installation.
Led by the 800th Regiment and Hezbollah, the Syrian Armed Forces managed to expand the buffer-zone around the northern and eastern perimeters of the T-4 Airport, capturing more than 6km worth of territory near the T-4 Pumping Station.
In addition to the assault near the T-4 Pumping Station, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah also captured the Al-Sha’arah Hills located just north of the Abandoned Military Base after a fierce battle with the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham” (ISIS).
According to a military source at the T-4 Airport, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah killed more than 90 ISIS terrorists and destroyed at least 15 armored vehicles, including 5 tanks, over the last 48 hours.
This large-scale cleansing operation is being conducted ahead of the upcoming offensive to liberate the east Homs oil fields and ancient city of Palmyra by the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) elite “Tiger Forces.”
