Dweik calls on visiting European MPs to organize int’l anti-siege campaign

Al-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Dr. Aziz Dweik, the speaker of the Palestinian legislative council (PLC), on Wednesday urged a delegation of European lawmakers to organize an international campaign aimed to end the blockade on the Palestinian people, their leaders and lawmakers.

During a meeting between Hamas lawmakers and members of the European parliament in Al-Khalil city, Dr. Dweik welcomed any positive move to strengthen relations between the Palestinian people and the European community.

The speaker highlighted to the delegation the major problems faced by Palestinian lawmakers in the West Bank such as political arrests and harassment in addition to other issues in the Palestinian arena.

The meeting also addressed the Palestinian-Israeli peace process and the internal reconciliation.

The delegation stressed the need to find solutions and new alternatives to end the political crisis in the Palestinian arena.

It also called for strengthening the Euro-Palestinian relations in order to end the European state of ignorance about the suffering of the Palestinian people
