GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestinian justice ministry in the Gaza Strip on Thursday said that the IOA decision to reprimand IOF officers who ordered the use of phosphorous bombs against Palestinian civilians during the war on Gaza was a "theatrical display".

"Such Israeli deceit, theatrics, nominal trials [of its soldiers] and court rulings can no longer deceive anyone. They are an insult to the intelligence of people and the international community," the ministry said in a statement it issued Thursday.

The ministry also noted that it wasn’t the first time for the IOA to behave in such manner, explaining that the Israeli courts used to sentence Israeli criminals to one or two months as maximum punishment for murdering Palestinian civilians, charging that in most cases, Israeli courts drop the charges alleging the criminals were deranged, or some other excuse.

The ministry added that what was more astonishing was the Israeli government spokesmen attempt to deny the use of white phosphorous, in the first place by saying that the IOF officers were tried for using artillery shells against the Palestinian civilians.

"The IOA acted like an ostrich by trying to hide the crimes it committed in full view of the world. Images of white phosphorous attacks were allover the media and there was no way for the occupation to hide its crimes," the ministry pointed out in the statement.

In this regard, the ministry threw the ball in the court of the international community, questioning: "will the international community accept international law to be continually breached by the IOA? For how long will the occupation remain the spoiled child that will not be prosecuted for its crimes despite the enormity of those crimes?

The ministry ended its statement by stressing that the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people were inalienable and that the passage of time does not alter this fact.
