SANA'A, (PIC)-- Khaled Mishaal, the supreme leader of the Hamas movement, has asked the Arab countries having relations or contacts with Israel to sever them at once in retaliation to the Israeli attack on the Freedom Flotilla.
He told a press conference in the Yemeni capital after meeting with president Ali Saleh that the UN Security Council resolution regarding the crime was "disappointing" and was encouraging Israel to commit more crimes.
Mishaal said that the Israeli aggression was a "milestone" signaling a new stage and the siege on Gaza was no longer acceptable. He charged that Israel had revolted against the entire world, humanitarian law and heavenly religions.
The Hamas leader asked the Arab leaders to immediately meet and decide to break the siege on Gaza, and urged Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, in particular, to take a daring decision and to open the Rafah terminal on permanent basis.
He hailed the Kuwaiti step in withdrawing support for the Arab peace initiative, and renewed appreciation of the Turkish position. He urged the Arab countries and parties to display solidarity with Turkey similar to its solidarity with the Palestine cause.
Mishaal hailed the solidarity activists on board the Freedom Flotilla and ridiculed Israel for claiming they had connections with Hamas.
Meanwhile, tens of thousand of Yemenis took part in a massive protest rally in Sana'a against the Israeli attack on the peaceful Flotilla.
Kuwait withdraws its support for the Arab initiative, Hamas welcomes the step
KUWAIT, (PIC)-- The Kuwaiti government agreed to pull out from the Arab peace initiative at the request of its parliament following the Israeli brutal attack on the Freedom Flotilla that grouped Kuwaiti citizens and journalists other than relief material.
The Kuwaiti step was in response to the Israeli massacre in lines of solidarity activists on board the ships of the Flotilla.
For its part, Hamas appreciated the Kuwaiti parliament and government's move, describing it as an "advanced step" in retaliation to the Israeli bloodbath in international waters.
Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, told the PIC on Tuesday that the step was a strong response to the Israeli disregard to the Arab Nation and continued crimes against the Palestinian people and those displaying solidarity with them.
The spokesman asked all Arab regimes to adopt a similar step and withdraw support for the Arab peace initiative in light of the continued Israeli crimes.
For his part, Arab League secretary general Amr Mousa said in a terse statement in Doha on Tuesday that Israel should be legally prosecuted for its crimes.
"Israel believes that it is above accountability", he said, adding that Israel should respect the international law and should be prosecuted according to articles of this law.
