Abu Zuhri: Fatah did not change its position towards the reconciliation issue
[ 16/06/2010 - 10:10 AM ]
GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said that Fatah official Azzam Al-Ahmed’s latest remarks about taking Hamas’s observations on Egypt’s reconciliation paper into account after the signing have nothing new.
“Fatah’s position does not have anything new because it is based on previous conditions that demand Hamas to sign first before taking into account its observations on the paper,” spokesman Abu Zuhri told the Palestinian information center (PIC) on Tuesday.
The spokesman also criticized Ahmed’s remarks in which he said that the solution to the blockade is to achieve the internal reconciliation first, saying that such talk prove further that Fatah faction is involved in the siege on Gaza and keen on not ending it before it achieves its goals represented in eliminating Hamas.
For its part, the Palestinian government in Gaza on Tuesday expressed its rejection of any attempt to sustain and ration the siege or circumvent the international movement in solidarity with the Gaza Strip.
The government also reiterated that it welcomes all delegations that are willing to visit Gaza, and expressed hope that the visit made days ago by secretary-general of the Arab League Amr Moussa would pave the way for more Arab official moves to end the siege completely.
It categorically denied that it asked the Arab League to intervene to postpone the local elections that Fatah and its authority want to hold in the West Bank, and called on those it described as the coup leaders in Ramallah to stop the policy of making lies and distorting facts.
