Khudari asks world community not to be deceived by Israel

GAZA, (PIC)-- Independent MP Jamal Al-Khudari, the head of the popular committee against the siege, has charged that the Israeli occupation authority's (IOA) allegation of easing the siege on Gaza was an attempt to beautify its image and to lessen international pressures.

Khudari in a press statement on Thursday said that the only solution to the crisis in Gaza is an immediate and full end to the siege including opening all crossings and securing a sea route linking Gaza to the outside world.

The world must realize the new Israeli deception, adding that allowing entry of some goods and non-basic materials was not ending the blockade while barring entry of cement and raw materials and goods that used to enter the Strip before the siege, the lawmaker said.

He renewed calls on the free people of the world and solidarity activists to continue their peaceful anti-siege activity and to send more ships until the blockade is completely broken.

The spokesman of the Palestinian government in Gaza, Taher Al-Nunu, said in a televised statement on Thursday that the IOA's declaration was "ridiculous", adding that it was an attempt to circumvent the world's demand for a complete lifting of the Gaza siege.

He added that allowing cement and other materials even to international institutions was good, but what is really happening is administering the siege and not ending it.

Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, said that the Palestinians want freedom of movement for individuals and goods in addition to supplying Gaza with its needs of raw and construction materials along with fuel and electricity and lifting all restrictions on bank dealings.

He said that the Israeli decision was of no value.

The European campaign to end the siege on Gaza refused the Israeli decision, and urged Israel to stop taking the countries that called for ending the siege lightly.

It announced that more ships would be sent to Gaza, and that it would expose the Israeli deception before the entire world.

The campaign warned of using UN organizations as new tools for imposing the siege on Gaza with different mechanism.

The Israeli mini cabinet had decided at the end of two days of discussions on Thursday to allow entry of more goods into Gaza and materials for civil projects that are run by international parties, but would not lift the sea blockade.
