IUPP calls for international parliamentary flotilla to Gaza

[ 08/06/2010 - 10:11 AM ]

BEIRUT, (PIC)-- The International Union of Parliamentarians for Palestine (IUPP) has proposed sending an international parliamentary flotilla to the Gaza Strip to break the Israeli siege on it.

The Union said in a statement after meeting in Beirut on Monday that it was imperative on it to replicate the experience of the Freedom Flotilla.

The IUPP said that the experience should be escalated to expose the "criminal nature" of Israel and to activate attempts to break the siege on Gaza and to expose those backing it.

It invited all parliaments of the world and all parliamentarians believing in the values of right, justice, democracy, dignity and humanity to contribute and to take part in the new flotilla.
