NABLUS, (PIC)-- The Palestinian Authority's security militias kidnapped on Sunday senior Hamas leader Wajih Abu Eida in Nablus city despite his suffering from several chronic diseases.
Local sources told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that the militias kidnapped Abu Eida as he was attending a court hearing on charges filed against him by the PA's security apparatuses.
The sources said that Abu Eida was an ex-detainee in West Bank and Israeli jails and developed many chronic diseases as a result of his exposure to severe torture at the hands of the militias.
The militias in Nablus also kidnapped on the same day two members of a Muslim arts band and the brother of slain Hamas leader Jamal Mansour.
In Ramallah, these militias on Sunday morning savagely stormed Al-Re'aya hospital in the city and kidnapped a male nurse working in the intensive care unit without producing an arrest warrant.
In a separate incident, violent confrontations erupted at noon Sunday between the PA's security militias and citizens in the village of Beita, southeast of Nablus city, after the former physically assaulted a Palestinian girl.
Local sources told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that a large force of Palestinian troops invaded the village to confiscate cars, but it carried out provocative and confrontational acts, and assaulted everyone they found on the road including a young girl.
Consequently, the sources said, the villagers dealt with the PA's invading troops as an occupation force and threw stones at them forcing them out of their village.
The PA's soldiers fled the scene as they were opening fire in the air and one of them was accidentally injured by friendly fire.
According to the latest reports received Monday by the PIC, the PA's security militias kidnapped 20 Palestinian citizens affiliated with Hamas in the cities of Tulkarem, Salfit, Al-Khalil, Nablus, Jenin, and occupied Jerusalem.
