Protesters marched along the streets chanting national slogans calling for unity and resistance of the Israeli occupation, and demanding freedom for Palestinian war prisoners and a lift on the unlawful blockade against Gaza.
Marchers headed towards the wall, where the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) took cover behind cement blocks in back of the wall. When protesters attempted to cross the wall and raised the Palestinian flag and banner over it, the IOF troops began firing stun grenades, rubber-coated bullets, and tear gas and pursuing demonstrators. Dozens of activists were injured during the clashes.
In the same context, the IOF suppressed a weekly peaceful march in the north west of Ramallah village of Nabi Saleh.
Villagers alongside foreign sympathizers and peace activists took part in the march organized by the village’s popular committee to resist the wall to mark the tenth anniversary of the Aqsa intifada and to revive the memory of the popular resistance of Gandhi.
Marchers set out after Friday prayers in front of the village mosque toward territories seized by the IOF for settlement expansion interests, and clashed with a large number of IOF soldiers who fired stun grenades and tear gas at them.
