Bewere the Israel Honey "soldiers".. Let us turn the poisoned honey pots and Hamas page

Netanyahu rejects right of return, declares Jerusalem eternal Jewish capital

[ 25/05/2011 - 10:53 AM ]

WASHINGTON, (PIC)-- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday evening in a speech to US Congress that Israel would never return to 1967 borders in any peace deal with the Palestinians.
He also declared his rejection of the Palestinian refugees' right of return and splitting Jerusalem with the Palestinians.
The Israeli premier said that any peace agreement should reflect the demographic changes that have taken place since 1967 and should include different borders than the ”indefensible” ones of 1967.
He also highlighted that the future Palestinian state should be demilitarized.
With regard to Jerusalem, Netanyahu emphasized the need that it remains unified, saying it is impossible to split it. He claimed that Israel has provided all of the divine religions the freedom to worship in Jerusalem.
He also claimed that Israel is the land of the Jews and that the Palestinians have split it with them.
He said that the dispute is not centered on the Palestinians establishing a state, but on Israel being a Jewish state that lives in peace by its side.
”It's time for President Abbas to stand before his people and say, 'I will accept a Jewish state'”, Netanyahu said.
He went on to urge Abbas to “tear up” the pact he made with Hamas, alleging that Hamas wishes to indiscriminately kill Jews and is the Palestinian version of al-Qaeda.

Barak: Army to remain on alert at Egypt borders

[ 03/03/2011 - 10:24 AM ]

NAZARETH, (PIC)-- Israeli war minister Ehud Barak has said the Israeli army will stay on alert along borders with Egypt until the security situation during the revolution there stabilizes.

He added the army will also boost efforts to raise the security fence along the border.

The Israeli army has allowed Egyptian armed forces to deploy in the Sinai peninsula since the turn of events in Egypt, but those forces are due to withdraw when the unrest calms.

Israel Concerned: Cairo Might Follow Ankara’s Example!

Following the collapse of Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak’s regime, the Israeli enemy seems to be concerned over the path that could be adopted by the Egyptian President’s successor.

In this context, Israeli daily The Jerusalem Post quoted former Foreign Ministry director-general Alon Liel as saying that Israelis must not lose sight of the importance of neighboring Egypt.

But Liel, who also served as ambassador to Turkey, warned that the successor to the Hosni Mubarak regime could well be expected to follow Ankara’s lead and pull its own envoy to Israel.

“I don’t think the events in Libya or Tunisia will affect Israel in any meaningful way,” Liel told the Post by phone. “Libya and Tunisia were in the outer circle when it came to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Egypt is a very different story.”

Liel, now chairman of the Israel-Syria Peace Society, said the continued adherence to the 1979 Israel-Egyptian peace treaty is of far greater significance to Israel than the fate of Libyan strongman Muammar Gaddafi. “The question of whether this agreement will survive and diplomatic relations remain intact are critical, critical questions for Israel’s standing in the region,” he said.

According to Liel, a Moussa presidency would bode ill for the Zionist entity. He was referring to Amr Moussa, Arab League Secretary General, who announced on Sunday that he intends to run for Egyptian president. “I met him personally, and his attitude to Israel over the past two decades has been very hostile, very different from Mubarak’s,” Liel said. “I don’t think he will renounce the agreement between the two countries as null and void; I don’t even think he will break diplomatic relations. But I’m almost sure he will pull the Egyptian ambassador out, and he will be very, very critical in his statements.”

The former envoy to Turkey predicted a downgrade in relations similar to one Turkey has implemented since the 2003 election of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “If Amr Moussa is the next president of Egypt, I think we’re headed toward a kind of Turkish-Israeli situation.”

Turkey pulled its ambassador in Tel Aviv after May’s Mavi Marmara incident in which nine Turkish citizens were martyred by Israeli fire on a Gaza-bound flotilla.

“Turkey doesn’t have an ambassador here, and it doesn’t intend to send an ambassador. Also, they won’t allow us to send a new ambassador. So Turkey in fact downgraded the level of representation between the two countries. Jordan, by the way, did the same thing – in the last six months you don’t have the Jordanian ambassador anymore,” he said.

Following Turkey’s removal of its envoy, Jordanian Ambassador Ali al-Ayed was quietly removed from the embassy in Ramat Gan and returned to Jordan to serve as minister for media affairs and communication. Liel said a caretaker ambassador had taken al-Ayed’s place.

“So the only ambassador from a Muslim country in Israel is the Egyptian ambassador,” he said. “After we see the new or newly elected Egyptian government, I don’t believe they will leave the Egyptian ambassador here as the only Muslim ambassador.”

With diplomacy stalled on both the Israeli-Palestinian and Israeli-Syrian tracks, Liel said, the mood in the region is more hostile to Israel than at any time in recent memory. “What we used to call the moderate camp – by which we mean accepting of Israel and ready to live in peace with it – is shrinking. So I see what happened in Egypt as a double blow. One, on security issues, because we have nothing really meaningful economically or culturally,” he said. “The level of coordination on Palestinian issues was very high. But on top of that, it’s a blow on the regional level. I think that what happened to Egypt, and the fact that Egypt will have to focus on internal affairs, is causing a situation in which Turkey is becoming the leader of the region. I don’t think it’s Iran, I think it’s Turkey. And Turkey has the ability to cause us a lot of problems if we don’t have a breakthrough with the peace process, either with the Palestinians or the Syrians.”

Liel said that prospects for Israeli-Egyptian relations could be brighter if Israel can find a way to kick-start the peace process. “Recently there have been more and more rumors that Syria is indicating it wants to resume talks,” he said. “I don’t think the hostility or hatred toward Israel will remain as is if the impression in the Middle East is that Israel is being engaged in serious talks with the Palestinians, or the Syrians, or both.”

JAMES PETRAS : American Zionism against the Egyptian Pro-Democracy Movement

- 21. Feb, 2011

The leading Zionist official in the Obama Administration and AIPAC point man, Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg traveled to Israel to assure the Netanyahu/Lieberman regime  that the Israeli-Egyptian Treaty would remain unchanged.

By James Petras / My Catbird Seat

One of the least analyzed aspects of the Egyptian pro-democracy movement and US policy toward it, is the role of the influential Zionist power configuration (ZPC) including the leading umbrella organization – the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations (CPMAJO) – Congressional Middle East committee members, officials occupying strategic positions in the Obama Administration’s Middle East bureaus, as well as prominent editors, publicists and journalists who play a major role in the prestigious newspapers and popular weekly magazines.

This essay is based on a survey of every issue of the Daily Alert (propaganda bulletin of the CPMAJO), the  NY Times and the Washington Post between January 25 – February 17, 2011.

From the very beginning of the Egyptian pro-democracy movement, the ZPC,  called into question the legitimacy of the anti-dictatorial demands by focusing on the “Islamic threat”.  In particular the ultra-Zionist Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal and the Daily Alert harped on the “threat” of a “Islamic takeover” by the Muslim Brotherhood even as the overwhelming number of non-Zionist experts and reporters in Egypt demonstrated that the vast majority of protestors were not members of any Islamic political movement, but largely advocates of a secular democratic republic (see the Financial Times 1/26/11-2/17/11).

Once their initial propaganda ploy failed, the ZPC developed several new propaganda lines:  the most prominent of which was a sustained defense of the Mubarak dictatorship as a bulwark of Israel’s ‘security’ and guardian of the so-called “Peace Accord” of 1979.  In other words the ZPC pressured the US administration, via Congressional hearings, the press and AIPAC to support Mubarak as a key guarantor and collaborator of Israel’s supremacy in the Middle East; although it meant that the Obama regime would have to openly oppose the million-member Egyptian freedom movement.  Israeli journalists, officials and their US Zionist counterparts willingly admitted that although the Mubarak regime was a bloody, corrupt tyranny, he should be supported because a democratic government in Cairo might end Egypt’s decades-old collaboration with the brutal Israeli colonization of Palestine.
Once it became clear that uncritical support for Mubarak was no longer a viable position and the Obama Administration was appealing to the democratic movement to “dialogue” and negotiate with the dictator, the ZPC demanded caution in backing a “dialogue” and assurance that the dialogue did not lead to any abrupt changes in the Mubarak-Israeli treaty.  The ZPC and its scribes in the Washington Post presented Mubarak’s hand picked “Vice President” Omar Suleiman, a notorious torturer and long-term collaborator of Israel’s Mossad, as the legitimate interlocutor for the dialogue – even as he was unanimously rejected by the entire pro-democracy movement.
As the demonstrators grew in number and engulfed the major public squares throughout the country and extended beyond the first week, Israel and the ZPC promoted a possible alternative solution, which would keep Mubarak in power, during a nine month ‘transition’ period.  Caught off guard by the rapid growth of Egypt’s pro-democracy movement, Israel’s willing accomplices in the US administration and media conceded that an end to the dictatorship would be a good thing… if it was managed appropriately; namely, if it excluded or minimized the role of the Muslim Brotherhood and maximized the role of the pro-Israel military high command and intelligence services as overseers of the “transition”.  The ZPC contemptuously rejected Egypt’s independent pro-democracy movement and its leaders and sought to undermine the Egyptian people’s movement by inflating the role of the “best organized” Islamic Brotherhood and warned of a future Islamist “seizure of power”.

U.S. DEPUTY SECRETARY OF
STATE JAMES STEINBERG
The leading Zionist official in the Obama Administration and AIPAC point man, Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg traveled to Israel to assure the Netanyahu/Lieberman regime that the US was in contact with the Egyptian military high command and sectors of the civilian opposition (ElBaradei) and that Washington’s support of the democracy movement was conditioned by their assurance that the Israeli-Egyptian Treaty would remain unchanged.

When Mubarak was finally forced to resign, handing power to a military junta, the ZPC congratulated the coup-makers, supported its demobilization of the movement and more important, celebrated the Egyptian generals’ endorsement of the “Peace Agreement of 1979”.  Now the Israeli propaganda machine began to harshly criticize Mubarak and portrayed the military coup as a positive step toward an “orderly and peaceful transition”.  By ‘orderly’ the Zionist think tankers meant a ‘regime change’ that did nothing to change the blockade of Gaza, the regular shipment of fuel to Israel, or the hotline of collaboration between Tel Aviv and Cairo.   Israeli and American Zionists rejected early elections and promoted a prolonged process in which the Egyptian military, the US Administration and the ZPC could handpick members of the ‘transitional constitutional and electoral commissions’ committed to continuing Mubarak’s policy of unconditional submission to Israel. By “peaceful” the pro-Israel diplomats in the Obama Administration meant clearing the streets of the masses of pro-democracy activists and demonstrators so that decisions could be controlled by the small circle of Mubarak military and civilian holdovers behind closed doors.  By “transition”, the circles of Zionists propagandists, US/Israeli policy makers and Egyptian generals meant that nothing would change but the face of Mubarak.

While Israel and the bulk of Zionist scribes and propagandists in the US opposed or questioned the pro-democracy movements against pro-Israeli rulers in the Middle East, they embraced and publicized the social movements opposing the Iranian regime.  In every print and electronic outlet, the pro-Israel journalists emphasized the repressive, brutal nature of the Iranian regime, called for regime change and raised the specter of a military confrontation if Iranian warships traversed the Suez Canal, Iran’s right by international maritime law.  Israeli security, the threat of ‘radical Islam’ and Iran were cited to place narrow limits on all discussions and debates over US policy regarding the enormous and growing mass pro-democracy movements throughout the Arab world.

The same prominent US Zionist scribes who, at first, defended US support for the dictatorial Mubarak regime and then supported the military takeover in Cairo, have now become born-again backers of anti-regime democrats in Iran.  This is not inconsistent:  the issue for US Zionists is how might pro-democracy movements affect Israel’s colonial policies in Palestine and Israel’s expanding power in the Middle East?  In other words, the ZPC in Congress and the White House are not concerned about promoting democracy through American foreign policy, but only about harnessing US diplomacy and military leverage to serve Israel.

What is striking about Obama’s twist and turns in policy toward the mass popular struggles in Egypt is how closely it repeats and implements the policy positions of the US Zionist power configuration clearly presented in the ‘52 organizations’ propaganda organ, the Daily Alert.

Egypt-Israel "peace treaty" brought more war than peace

Richard Irvine, The Electronic Intifada, 21 February 2011

Without its ally Hosni Mubarak in power in Egypt, Israel will have to think twice before it wages attacks in the region. (Pete Souza/White House Photo)

As the Egyptian revolution approached its climax the first priority of Israel and the West was that the so-called cornerstone of Middle East peace and security remain in place -- the much-fabled 1979 Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated the almost sacred truth that the "longstanding peace treaty between Israel and Egypt has greatly contributed to both countries and is the cornerstone for peace and stability in the entire Middle East." Going further, military expert Amos Harel warned that any break in the treaty could have dire consequences for Israel and so consequently the Egyptian revolution represented "a nightmare to Israeli intelligence leaders and planners" ("Cairo Tremors Will Be Felt Here, Haaretz, 30 January 2011).

This certainly would be understandable if an Egyptian abrogation of the treaty would be likely to lead to war, or if Israel had implemented the peace accords in good faith. The truth however is that Israel absolutely ignored its obligations under Part 1 of the treaty -- to allow representative self-government in the West Bank and Gaza Strip leading to independence -- while using the sure knowledge of Egypt's neutrality to launch a series of devastating wars. Indeed, when one looks at the historical record there can surely be few treaties that have brought so little peace and so much war.

That Israel always viewed the Camp David Accords as a blank check is evident both in its behavior and in Western and Israeli commentators' fears that the abrogation of the treaty might mean Israel will have to curtail its military interventions.

Writing in Israel's Haaretz on 14 February, Aluf Benn declared, "Israel will find it difficult to take action far to the east when it cannot rely on the tacit agreement to its actions on its western border. Without Mubarak there is no Israeli attack on Iran." Thus Benn concludes that Mubarak's departure has actually prevented a new Israeli war.

Certainly Israel has used the absence of any significant Arab counterweight to pursue policies that have either repeatedly brought war, or in the case of the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip, presented "serious obstruction[s] to achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East" as UN Security Council resolutions 446 and 478 put it.

What is evident from the record is that Israel wasted no time putting the treaty to the test. In 1980 it illegally annexed East Jerusalem, and the following year the Syrian Golan Heights. In 1981 it launched an illegal attack on Iraq's nuclear reactor.

More significantly Israel also used the accords as a means to continue the destruction and dispossession of Palestinian society. Under Prime Minister Menachem Begin, who won the Nobel Peace Prize with Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, Israel developed a twin track approach with regard to the Palestinians of the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip: a collaborationist "village league" form of governance was established, although due to Palestinian resistance it failed to take root, while simultaneously the number of illegal colonists in the West Bank and Gaza more than quadrupled (according to data published by the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics, and collated by Peace Now, the number of settlers in the West Bank grew from 5,000 in the early 1970s to more than 20,000 in 1983).

This was a negation of the accords that led Israeli cabinet minister Ezer Weizman to resign after declaring that no one in the cabinet was interested in peace. Begin however was undeterred, which was not at all surprising as after the 1978 establishment of the illegal colony of Elon Moreh outside Nablus he had boasted that there would be "many more Elon Morehs to come" -- a prophecy that has become only too true, as today there are over half a million Israeli settlers in the West Bank.

However Begin's primary use of the accords was as a means to wage war. In the first instance this meant the 1982 invasion of Lebanon and the war against the Palestine Liberation Organization -- a war launched without provocation and in the midst of what Noam Chomsky has described as a PLO "peace offensive." During the course of this war Israel not only devastated the Palestinian and Lebanese populations of Lebanon but also systematically trashed the country and trounced the Syrian army when it sought to defend itself. At its end the International Committee of the Red Cross estimated that 17,825 civilians had been killed. Would this have been possible without Israel knowing that Egypt was permanently out of the conflict?

The same of course holds true for subsequent Israeli military actions, whether it was the brutal crushing of unarmed resistance during the first Intifada from 1987 to 1993, or the 1996 and 2006 reinvasions of Lebanon, or the mass casualties of the second intifada and the 2008-09 invasion of Gaza. In every case knowledge that Egypt would either stand idly by or indeed approve has made Israel confident that it could act with impunity.

Yet this was not always the case. For many years leading up to the Camp David Accords the Arab League had insisted that a final peace agreement must be a comprehensive one involving all parties to the conflict. Tragically Egypt under Sadat chose to break that consensus and by putting its own interests first effectively undermined the negotiating positions of all other Arab parties whilst giving Israel a free hand to militarily enforce its vision on the Middle East. If then the Camp David Accords do breakdown this should not be read as a sign that peace is further away than ever, but rather that perhaps at long last an all-embracing peace amongst equals may be possible.

Speaking at the time of the Egypt-Israel peace treaty signing, the late PLO leader Yasser Arafat commented, "Let them sign what they like. False peace will not last." For Palestinians, Syrians, Lebanese and indeed Israelis, he has been proven only too correct.

Richard Irvine teaches a course at Queen's University Belfast entitled "The Battle for Palestine" which explores the entire history of the conflict. Irvine has also worked voluntarily in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon and taken part in olive planting and harvesting in the West Bank.

Israel Okays Extra Egypt Troops in Sinai to Protect its Gas Pipeline

Author: WebsiteTeam Network

Israel has agreed to let Egypt deploy hundreds more troops in Sinai in order to protect gas pipelines as the country undergoes sweeping political unrest, Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot reported on Wednesday.

It was not immediately clear how many more troops would be permitted into the Sinai Peninsula, where the number of Egyptian forces is limited by the terms of the 1979 Israel-Egypt peace treaty.

The move, which comes just days after the overthrow of autocratic Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, was rubber stamped several days ago in response to a request from Cairo's new military regime.

Neither the defense ministry nor the prime minister's office would confirm the report, which said the troops would be stationed in Sinai for a limited period of time "until the situation on the ground calms down."

This move comes 11 days after an Egyptian gas pipeline to Jordan in northern Sinai was attacked, forcing Cairo to switch off gas supplies to the kingdom as well as to Israel, which is supplied via a twin pipeline.

Day Three......Israel or Democracy

Frustrated Arab's Diary

http://media3.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/photo/2008/01/15/PH2008011501983.jpg
have a Coffee....
and then..... forget Democracy !!

Have you considered that even if (or even when )
the whole Middle-East turns into a democratic and a free area
there will not be any guarantee, at all,
that the State of Israel would be then accepted ??.

On the contrary ,
those leaders who did sign a so-called " Peace-agreement"
with the Zionist state, were not at all democratic,
by any known standards.....
nor did this "Peace-agreement" produce any peace.

The first leader who signed for the Peace was an army-general
and the second was a monarch .

Both were bribed , one way or another ,
into signing a worthless treaty,
which never has had any genuine-popular-support.

Democracy (or Freedom) is not the wish of a single leader
and surely not the wish of non-elected-single-leaders.......

I bet you that if and when the Middle East countries
shall all convert to Democracy , the State of Zion shall then tremble !!

The last really-democratically-elected Palestinian-government, Hamas ,
has even completely rejected the State of Israel,  from its roots !!

We ,Arabs, have to choose  to live with Democracy or with  Israel
while Israel will have to choose to live in Palestine or in Peace.

Raja ChemayelI first worship God, . .....and then Democracy ,
and therefore, I fundamentally reject the Zionist state.

NB :
The West wanted to keep Mubarak
regardless whether he is a democrat or a dictator,
as long as he accepted Israel .
The Palestinian Authority has just resigned yesterday

because it wanted unsucessfully  to marry Democracy with Israel
