Six weeks ago,Khalid Hamayreh, hailed "The good news" from Cairo"  The latest agreement between Fatah and Hamas to translate national reconciliation efforts into facts on the ground is a perfect Ramadan gift for the Palestinian people. ""the Palestinian Authority (PA) decision to move against Muhammed Dahlan, the perpetual trouble-maker, will erase a major cause of the collision between Hamas and Fatah." he claimed. 

According to well informed Alan Hart on 28 July as  Abbas was "clearing his deck to be able to say “No” to Obama... Fatah security forces surrounded and raided the home of Mohammed Dahlan. They arrested 23 of his bodyguards and confiscated their weapons. Could Abbas have feared that if he continued to defy the Obama administration by proceeding with his UN initiative, Dahlan would lead an American-encouraged and Israeli-supported coup against him?" Alan asked. (It’s not much of a secret that Dahlan is a CIA asset and a Mossad collaborator, he added. Is it the due "Regime Change in Palestine" Veteran Sami Jadallah calling for ??

So the Abbas's move against Muhammed Dahlan, has nothing to do, neither with Palestinian reconciliation, nor with the poisning of Arafat. Otherwise Abbas would have have started by unifying Palestinian factions, before going to UN for his statehood. 
Insead he foiled a Mossad/CIA coup against him.

Mazin Qumsiyeh, called todays appearance of Abbas in front of the UN as the "International Day of Peace". Mazin briefs his comments on Obama's new lies in front of the UN in brackets:

Well Mazin, Obama bowed to an orchestrated Zionist lobby, and occupied congress, he just advocated the Likud mantra to the UN general assembly. He asked "let me ask you how a position of a key Palestinian leader like Abbes would be if he gave a speech with total honesty telling his people something along these lines:

"We went into Oslo with good intentions, it was supposed to last for five years and give us a state in all of the West Bank and Gaza. Uri Avnery compares Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas’s gamble in making a bid for Palestinian statehood at the United Nations – and thereby putting Palestine at the centre of world attention – with Barack Obama’s sheer unprincipled prostitution in the service of Israel – all for the sake of a second term as president.

”The Arab Spring may have been a last chance for the US to recover its standing in the Middle East. After some hesitation, Obama realized that...

“Now he has blown it, perhaps forever. No self-respecting Arab will forgive him for plunging his knife into the back of the helpless Palestinians. All the credit the US has tried to gain in the last months in the Arab and the wider Muslim world has been blown away with one puff.” (Uri Avnery)

A wonderful speech. A beautiful speech.

The language expressive and elegant. The arguments clear and convincing. The delivery flawless.

A work of art. The art of hypocrisy. Almost every statement in the passage concerning the Israeli-Palestinian issue was a lie. A blatant lie: the speaker knew it was a lie, and so did the audience.

It was Obama at his best, Obama at his worst.

Being a moral person, he must have felt the urge to vomit. Being a pragmatic person, he knew that he had to do it, if he wanted to be re-elected.

 Obama – selling America’s national interests for a second term

In essence, he sold the fundamental national interests of the United States of America for the chance of a second term.

Not very nice, but that’s politics, OK?

It may be superfluous – almost insulting to the reader – to point out the mendacious details of this rhetorical edifice.

Obama treated the two sides as if they were equal in strength – Israelis and Palestinians, Palestinians and Israelis.

But of the two, it is the Israelis – only they – who suffer and have suffered. Persecution. Exile. Holocaust. An Israeli child threatened by rockets. Surrounded by the hatred of Arab children. So sad.

Obama spewed out a “straight right-wing Israeli propaganda line, pure and simple – the terminology, the historical narrative, the argumentation. The music.”

No occupation. No settlements. No June 1967 borders. No Nakba. No Palestinian children killed or frightened. It’s the straight right-wing Israeli propaganda line, pure and simple – the terminology, the historical narrative, the argumentation. The music.

The Palestinians, of course, should have a state of their own. Sure, sure. But they must not be pushy. They must not embarrass the US. They must not come to the UN. They must sit with the Israelis, like reasonable people, and work it out with them. The reasonable sheep must sit down with the reasonable wolf and decide what to have for dinner. Foreigners should not interfere.

Obama gave full service. A lady who provides this kind of service generally gets paid in advance. Obama got paid immediately afterwards, within the hour. Netanyahu sat down with him in front of the cameras and gave him enough quotable professions of love and gratitude to last for several election campaigns.

Mahmoud Abbas – “a tragic hero”

The tragic hero of this affair is Mahmoud Abbas. A tragic hero, but a hero nonetheless.

Many people may be surprised by this sudden emergence of Abbas as a daring player for high stakes, ready to confront the mighty US.

If Ariel Sharon were to wake up for a moment from his years-long coma, he would faint with amazement. It was he who called Mahmoud Abbas “a plucked chicken”.

Yet for the last few days, Abbas was the centre of global attention. World leaders conferred about how to handle him, senior diplomats were eager to convince him of this or that course of action, commentators were guessing what he would do next. His speech before the UN General Assembly was treated as an event of consequence.

Not bad for a chicken, even for one with a full set of feathers.
His emergence as a leader on the world stage is somewhat reminiscent of Anwar Sadat.

When Gamal Abd-al-Nasser unexpectedly died at the age of 52 in 1970 and his official deputy, Sadat, assumed his mantle, all political experts shrugged.

Sadat? Who the hell is that? He was considered a no-nentity, an eternal No. 2, one of the least important members of the group of “free officers” that was ruling Egypt.

“Sit, Anwar!”  

In Egypt, a land of jokes and jokers, witticisms about him abounded. One concerned the prominent brown mark on his forehead. The official version was that it was the result of much praying, hitting the ground with his forehead. But the real reason, it was told, was that at meetings, after everyone else had spoken, Sadat would get up and try to say something. Nasser would good-naturedly put his finger to his forehead, push him gently down and say: “Sit, Anwar!”

To the utter amazement of the experts – and especially the Israeli ones – this “non-entity” took a huge gamble by starting the 1973 October War, and proceeded to do something unprecedented in history: going to the capital of an enemy country still officially in a state of war and making peace.

Abbas’ status under Yasser Arafat was not unlike Sadat’s under Nasser. However, Arafat never appointed a deputy. Abbas was one of a group of four or five likely successors. The heir would surely have been Abu Jihad, had he not been killed by Israeli commandoes in front of his wife and children. Another likely candidate, Abu Iyad, was killed by Palestinian terrorists. Abu Mazen (Abbas) was in a way the choice by default.

Such politicians, emerging suddenly from under the shadow of a great leader, generally fall into one of two categories: the eternal frustrated No. 2 or the surprising new leader.

The Bible gives us examples of both kinds. The first was Rehoboam, the son and heir of the great King Solomon, who told his people: “my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions”. The other kind was represented by Joshua, the heir of Moses. He was no second Moses, but according to the story a great conqueror in his own right.

Modern history tells the sad story of Anthony Eden, the long-suffering No. 2 of Winston Churchill, who commanded little respect. (Mussolini called him, after their first meeting, “a well-tailored idiot”.). Upon assuming power, he tried desperately to equal Churchill and soon embroiled Britain in the 1956 Suez disaster. To the second category belonged Harry Truman, the nobody who succeeded the great Franklin Delano Roosevelt and surprised everybody as a resolute leader.

Putting Palestine at the centre of world attention

“Abbas has placed the quest for Palestinian freedom squarely on the international table. For more than a week, Palestine has been the centre of international attention.”

Abbas looked like belonging to the first kind. Now, suddenly, he is revealed as belonging to the second. The world is treating him with newfound respect. Nearing the end of his career, he made the big gamble.

But was it wise? Courageous, yes. Daring, yes. But wise?

My answer is: yes, it was.

Abbas has placed the quest for Palestinian freedom squarely on the international table. For more than a week, Palestine has been the centre of international attention. Scores of international statesmen – and women – including the leader of the world’s only superpower, have been busy with Palestine.
For a national movement, that is of the utmost importance. Cynics may ask: “So what did they gain from it?” But cynics are fools. A liberation movement gains from the very fact that the world pays attention, that the media grapple with the problem, that people of conscience all over the world are aroused. It strengthens morale at home and brings the struggle a step nearer its goal. [All to save his political career -UP]

Oppression shuns the limelight. Occupation, settlements, ethnic cleansing thrive in the shadows. It is the oppressed who need the light of day. Abbas’s move provided it, at least for the time being.

Barack Obama’s miserable performance was a nail in the coffin of America’s status as a superpower. In a way, it was a crime against the United States.

The Arab Spring may have been a last chance for the US to recover its standing in the Middle East. After some hesitation, Obama realized that. He called on Mubarak to go, helped the Libya-ns against their tyrant, made some noises about Bashar al-Assad. He knows that he has to regain the respect of the Arab masses if he wants to recover some stature in the region, and by extension throughout the world. [SO, Its all about democracy!!! Its the bloody oil and "Shalom" for Israel, stupid]

Now he has blown it, perhaps forever. No self-respecting Arab will forgive him for plunging his knife into the back of the helpless Palestinians. All the credit the US has tried to gain in the last months in the Arab and the wider Muslim world has been blown away with one puff.

All for re-election.

Israel needs peace. Israel needs to live side by side with the Palestinian people, within the Arab world. Israel cannot rely forever on the unconditional support of the declining United States.

Obama knows this full well. He knows what is good for Israel, even if Netanyahu doesn’t. Yet he has handed the keys of the car to the drunken driver.

The state of Palestine will come into being. This week it was already clear that this is unavoidable. Obama will be forgotten, as will Netanyahu, Lieberman and the whole bunch.

Mahmoud Abbas – Abu Mazen, as the Palestinians call him – will be remembered. The “plucked chicken” is soaring into the sky.

Dr. Mazin is vey exited with the "brilliant speech at the United Nations, getting rounds of applause from most of the representatives" 

I think it demonstrated clearly and unambiguously that the Palestinian leadership has been "unreasonably reasonable" and has instead seen the hopes of peace and of millions of Palestinians suffering for 63 years dashed on the rock of Israeli expansionist, colonial, and apartheid policies. He explained that Israel has been taking one unilateral action after another each resulting in more pain and suffering for our people. Going to the UN, he explained is putting things back where the problems started (he did not use the last two words but I do). He said a word that I think he should defend strongly that no person or country with an iota of logic or conscience should reject the Palestinian state membership in the UN or its formation in the 22% of historic Palestine that is the West Bank and Gaza. I think he took a courageous step and gave a good performance." 

Mazin is optimistic, Abbas would "now implement quickly the reconciliation agreement...would act quickly and decisively to really promote popular unarmed resistance throughout Palestine."  In other words, Hamas and resistance factions should willingly lay arms or othetwise.

"A new strategy to encourage real nonviolent resistance must be adopted"....Mazin is "waiting to see clear evidence of change; a new Palestinian Spring as Mr. Abbas called it."

Obama's UN speech is unjust, immoral and unprincipled

President Obama's speech at the United Nation's General Assembly was probably appropriate for an opportunistic politician who sacrifices honesty, morality, and basic ethics for the sake of making some momentary profit here or there. But it was by all means inappropriate, to say the least, for a statesman, let alone the President of the strongest nation on earth.

Obama's excessive praise of Israel caricatured an insecure president that fears telling the truth, a leader that shakes at the very thought of uttering the "wrong words" even when these wrong words happen to represent the heart, soul and essence of the truth.

In his speech, Obama never uttered a single word about the ever expanding Jewish settlements in occupied Palestine, the main reason for what has become the near impossibility of reaching any reasonable settlement of the enduring conflict.

He readily reiterated Israeli propaganda lies about Arabs and Muslims seeking Israel's destructions but carefully avoided Israel's consistent policy of aggression, occupation and lebensraum.
He utterly failed to mention that peace, real peace, has never been on Israel's agenda because a peace-loving country doesn't build hundreds of hateful colonies on occupied land, nor does transfer hundreds of thousands of its citizens to live on land that belongs to another people.

Likewise, he ignored the imposing fact of venomous racism in Israel where the bulk of the Israeli Jewish society has come to view non-Jews in general as virtual subhuman beings or virtual animals for no other reason than the fact that these people happen to be non-members of the Chosen People or the Master Race.

I'm quite convinced that Obama's failure to tell the truth is not imputed in any way to ignorance, misinformation or lack of information. Obama knows the truth about Israel quite well. However, he seems to utterly lack the moral fabric and strong character to call the spade a spade due to the Zionist Jewish stranglehold paralyzing his administration, Congress and U.S. foreign policy as, indeed, testified by a number of American intellectuals, including at least one former President.

I hesitate to use the term "political whore" in reference to Obama's moral downfall. However, If I were to testify before the "court of history" where every iota of truth counts and spin doesn't exist, I most probably would find it unconscionable to resort to euphemisms.

The main reason for this moral turpitude, that is to put it quite mildly, has every thing to do with Jewish money and Jewish power in the U.S, and has absolutely nothing to do with any truth on Israel's side.

Israel after all can be so honestly and so justifiably considered a crime against humanity. Israel, by sheer brutality and mendacity, stole the country of another people, killed untold numbers of these people, destroyed their homes and towns, bulldozed their fields and orchards and then expelled them to the four winds. How can such a country possibly have a shred of morality or legitimacy, probably with the exception of the morality of the fait accompli?

Like his predecessors, President Obama is not capable of making any worthy contribution to true peace making in the Middle East. True peace-making requires honesty, first and foremost, an ingredient Obama lacks rather conspicuously.

Hence, it is futile for the international community, especially for the Arabs and Muslims of the world, to rely on the American administration for achieving a just and durable peace in occupied Palestine.

In addition to honesty, Obama also lacks the courage to say or do anything that would fail to satisfy the fascist leaders of the Zionist regime, who shamelessly claim to seek peace with their Palestinian victims while continuing to destroy the latter's homes, steal their land and burn their mosques.

The conspicuous absence in Obama's speech of any mention or even allusion to the Zionist Jewish lebensraum policy in the West Bank, especially in occupied Arab East Jerusalem, portrays a president that is dithering, fretting and ranting about virtually nothing. His attempt to play the role of moral teacher and world leader whose words carry true moral weight is nothing less than a futile exercise in futility and cheap political hucksterism.

With all honesty and bitterness, such a leader won't be able to make peace in the Middle East even if he remains at the White House fifty more years. What is the point of being a president when one betrays his conscience in order to please and appease the forces of evil and pressure groups around him?

As to the Palestinians, they must realize that they have committed an act of self-deception if not self-destruction when they accepted the United States as a sole honest broker of the so-called peace process.

Consecutive U.S. administrations played so brazenly, so brashly and so shamelessly, the role of Israel's protector, defender, and lawyer regardless of whatever Israel did or didn't, a policy that is likely to continue for the foreseeable future.

On many occasions, American peace envoys, many of whom fanatical Zionists, displayed stands and attitudes that were far more extremists than those displayed even by Israeli negotiators. So for heaven's sake, how could a shamelessly Zionist America, biased to the core in Israel's favor, be any thing like an honest broker? This is nothing less than fornication with language.

In light, the Palestinian people should resign to the fact that the Arab-Israeli conflict has become really unsolvable due to the present political and demographic facts.

But history, especially in this part of the world, doesn’t reach its end with the appearance or disappearance of Barack Obama nor, indeed, with his masters in occupied Palestine.

I am not going to indulge in prognostication or wishful thinking about the future. However, it must be understood by all that Israel bears full responsibility for the disappearance of all peace chances in this region.

This means that Israel alone bears responsibility for whatever comes next.

From Cairo to New York, Obama’s Stances Alter!

After his 2009 Cairo speech in which he stressed the right of Palestine to exist, US President Barack Obama’s comments at the UN General Assembly on Wednesday underlined a serious change of position. Obama told the UNGA that he opposes the Palestinian bid for recognition of a state; a declaration that was met with joy and appreciation by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The PM lauded Obama saying that he was wearing “a badge of honor” by insisting that negotiations are the only way to peace. Decades of negotiations between Israel and Palestinian leaderships have yielded no positive results for the Palestinians. PA leader Mahmoud Abbas himself said a year earlier that 18 years of negotiations have hit the wall. At the UN, Obama said that there could be “no shortcuts” to peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians, and that negotiations between the two parties would be the only means to achieving a true and lasting peace. He assured Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas that a UN action would not achieve a Palestinian state and the United States would veto any Security Council move to recognize Palestinian statehood. The president of a country that had waged wars on Iraq and Afghanistan where it killed hundreds of thousands civilians, injured and displaced millions others, had all the nerve to talk about “peace” before the UNGA and recount Israel’s tragedy of being the victim of its Arab neighbors who have waged consecutive wars against it and sought to wipe it off the map. 29 years this month Israel oversaw the execution of 3500 Palestinian refugees in Lebanon during the 1982 invasion, waged more wars during the past two decades on Lebanon and occupied Palestinian territories, however, Obama’s dream of another "four year term" has blocked his memory. “Let’s be honest: Israel is surrounded by neighbors that have waged repeated wars against it,” he said. “Israel’s citizens have been killed by rockets fired at their houses and suicide bombs on their buses. Israel’s children come of age knowing that throughout the region, other children are taught to hate them… Israel, a small country of less than eight million people, looks out at a world where leaders of much larger nations threaten to wipe it off of the map. The Jewish people carry the burden of centuries of exile, persecution, and the fresh memory of knowing that six million people were killed simply because of who they were,” Obama said refuting his Cairo speech in which he noted that Israel’s creation had displaced the Palestinians, and that peace required redress for their six decades of suffering. Netanyahu was very satisfied with Obama’s comments. He praised the US president at a joint press conference prior to a meeting between them on the sidelines of the UNGA in New York. Obama said that it was a pleasure to welcome Netanyahu to the US, opining that Washington's “pursuit of a just and lasting peace” is compatible with Israel's needs and “puts Israel's security at the forefront.” Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman also praised Obama: "I congratulate President Obama. I am ready to sign on this speech with both hands," hailing the Obama's omission of issues such as settlements and the 1967 borders. Obama’s excessive love to Israel had surfaced after two years in office marred by a series of failures in foreign and home policies. Without the Israel lobby in the US, Obama’s chances of another term at the White House are slim. In May this year, Netanyahu delivered a speech at the US Congress. The exaggerated reaction by congressmen to every couple of Netanyahu’s sentences, as in applauding and standing up every 2 two minutes, made the event more theatrical than political; just like everything that involves Israel’s interests and security at the expense of the American taxpayers, the Palestinians, the Lebanese, the Syrians and all the anti-Israel camp in the region. Jewish Americans for Obama: "Israel has never had a better friend than President Obama." "... The new website--Jewish Americans for Obama--was disclosed Tuesday in a call to Jewish community activists. It features a video testimonial from Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon saying Israel "has never had a better friend than President Obama." Two key Obama campaign surrogates--Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Florida) and former Rep. Robert Wexler (D-Florida)--joined the call to Jewish activists...."

Ynet’s Washington reporter, Yitzhak Ben – Horin, produced last night a clear and succinct reading of Obama’s recent UN General Assembly address:
“Likudnic in the White House.”
“Netanyahu could not have written it better.”
“Obama at this point, is in line with the Likud party.”
“Obama is a pro-Israel president …Since January 2009, he provided Israel with all its needs both in diplomacy and in terms of security”

Obama is not performing too well in the polls. He clearly needs the Jewish Lobby on his side. The American president ‘provided’ yesterday and the lobby was quick to react- “Israel has no better friend in the world today,” wrote the president of the National Council of Jewish Democrats, David Harris.
According to Ynet, Hours before his UN General Assembly Address Obama sought to ensure that prospective Jewish voters pay close attention to his speech.

“Three of Obama’s aides held a conference call with the president’s Jewish supporters and community leaders. The advisers, all Jewish themselves, asked the supporters to “spread the word” that Obama will give a pro-Israel speech which reflects his own genuine positions and implored them to pay close attention to the president’s UN address.”

The three Jewish advisers “stressed that the Republicans intentionally distort Obama’s statements to portray him as an anti-Israel president, when in fact their arguments are baseless.”

If anyone was foolish enough to believe that America could ever be a broker for peace in the Middle East, the truth is now unavoidable. American political world is clearly hijacked by a foreign lobby that represents foreign interests. America cannot rescue itself. What we see in front of our eyes is basically a tragedy.

Greek tragedy depicts the downfall of a noble hero, usually through some combination of hubris, fate, and the will of the gods. The American tragedy contains the same elements. America has regarded itself as a ‘noble hero’ since its creation, ‘hubris’ is also far from being foreign to American culture. Americas’ fate has been written on the wall for more than a while. And what about the Gods, can you guess who the Gods are? I think that Obama and his party knew very well whom they were trying to appease last night. They know very well who their Gods are because they shamelessly mix with them at least once a year at AIPAC annual gathering.

However, Obama and his ‘advisers’ maybe mistaken here. Their ‘Gods’ are not stupid at all, they grasp what Obama is up to, Ben Horin wrote last night, they understand what ‘2nd term’ means in terms of Israeli politics. They remember, for instance, that during the election campaign in 2000, George Bush promised to move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, but once re-elected he was the man who pushed Sharon to withdraw from the Gaza Strip. They remember that the same George Bush was also the president who sided with Abu Mazen, and declared that negotiations with the Palestinians should be based on 49 armistice lines.

If Obama thinks that the ‘Gods’ are now beside him, he is deluded.

Obama made a grave personal mistake yesterday. But it is Americans, Israelis and Palestinians that will pay the price. What we see here is a classic tragedy, for America doesn’t posses the political power to save itself from itself.

The only question you may want to ask yourself at this stage is how long will it take for America to emancipate itself from its ‘Gods’.

Yesterday, Friday, May 20, 2011, I posted an article on this blog, and at the bottom of the article, I said, “The above synopsis from Wikipedia shows the manner in which the satanic state of Israel operates, and also shows that the international reaction (USA and USSR pressure) through the UN was a success. 

My point is: Is the USA willing to pressure Israel to accept the 1967 border? As for Israel reaction, it has already rejected the offer. As for the USA; a country totally controlled by the Jews (AIPAC) and a nation being brain-washed by the Jewish owned and operated media, and a gutless president whose advisers are Jews, There is no shadow of doubt in my heart that the USA duplicity is stronger than ever. 

Benjamin Netanyahu meets and discusses things with Obama (God know what!) Obama talks (in his speech) about the 1967 borders. Bibi rejects the offer.

It is a game played again and over again. Example: Obama's Cairo speech in which he mentioned that construction of settlements in Israel must be frozen. And it never happened. On the contrary Obama was mocked by the Jews. He was called "nigger", "slave", "Muslims lover"; anything that is mentioned in the Jewish book of insults.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Mr. President, go to hell!”

Obama demolished Palestinian chances for statehood

U.S. supports Israel's demand for the Palestinian state to be demilitarized, it supports postponing discussions on the refugees and Jerusalem, it talks about Israel's security and Israel's security alone.

Benjamin Netanyahu may as well have canceled his trip to Washington: Barack Obama did the work for him, or most of it. But the prime minister is already on his way, so he should at least send to the White House a big bouquet of flowers. 

Netanyahu can sit back and relax. It's not that Obama didn't say clear, firm words on the Middle East; it's just that most, if not all of them could have been said by Netanyahu himself, who would then go on doing as he pleased.

 The 1,500 new apartments in Jerusalem will be built, speech or no speech. The real test for that speech, as for any other, is what happens next, and the suspicion is that nothing will happen at all. 

Obama didn't say a word about what will happen if the parties disobey him. This was the king's speech, but the king already appears a little naked. Considering America's weakness, and the power of Congress and the Jewish and Christian lobbies working on behalf of the Israeli government, the Israeli right wing can relax and go on doing what it does. 

Yesterday, the U.S. president demolished the Palestinian's only accomplishment so far - the wave of international support for recognition of statehood in September. September died last night. After America, Europe too will have to withdraw its support; hopes have ended for a historically significant declaration at the United Nations.

The Palestinians are left once again with Cuba and Brazil, while we get to keep America. Here's another reason for a sigh of relief in Jerusalem: No diplomatic tsunami is forthcoming, the United States is sticking with Israel.

Regrettably, the president also voiced reservations about the Palestinian unity government. The United States supports Israel's demand for the Palestinian state to be demilitarized, it supports postponing discussions on the refugees and Jerusalem, it talks about Israel's security and Israel's security alone, saying nothing about security for Palestinians. All these are impressive, even if virtual, achievements for Israel.

The Palestinians yesterday were not listed among the oppressed Arab people of the Middle East who need to be liberated and aided on the way to democracy. Obama spoke impressively about America's corrupt allies in the region, and provided further enlightened encouragement to the people of the region.

If the first Cairo speech provided the initial inspiration, Cairo 2 provided a more significant push. Obama and his determination on this should be praised. His words were heard not only in Damascus and Benghazi, but also in Jenin and Rafah. Did he mean to praise Majdal Shams as well? Hooray for the unarmed protesters, hoping Obama meant Palestinian ones as well. If he did, it's a pity he didn't say so.

When he mentioned the Tunisian vendor who was humiliated by a policewoman who overturned his stall - the vendor who later set himself and the revolution ablaze - was Obama thinking about the hundreds of Palestinian vendors who have suffered the exact same fate at the hands of Israeli soldiers and policemen? When he spoke nobly about the dignity of the oppressed vendors, was he speaking about their Palestinian brethren as well? The speech didn't show this enough.

The conflict between Israel and the Palestinian was sidelined in Obama's speech for the most part, more so than it deserved. This conflict still incites great passions in the Arab world, and with all due respect for the new Marshall Plan for Egypt and Tunisia, the Arab masses don't want to see another Operation Cast Lead and more checkpoints on their TV screens. When it got to us, the tone was different.

Yes, there were stern words about how a Jewish and democratic state is not compatible with an occupation. There was even a proper presidential plan - the '67 borders with corrections, a Palestinian state and a Jewish state, Israeli security and the demilitarization of Palestine. 

But let's not get too excited. We've heard it before, not only from American presidents, but from Israeli prime ministers. And what did we get? Yet another Jewish neighborhood in East Jerusalem. 

The heart wants to believe that this time it's different, but the head - wise from bitter experience after years of shelved peace plans and vacuous speeches - is finding it hard to believe. 

The optimists will say that yesterday signaled the end of the Israeli occupation. The pessimists, and I, regrettably, among them, will say that it was just another speech. It changed virtually nothing for the better, virtually nothing for the worse.

I also, regrettably, am among the pessimists referred to above. I've learned about the Jews from various resources; biased and unbiased. I have studied their history; ancient and modern. I've read their Bible (Tanach), their Talmud. I've read about nations that accepted Jews to live amongst them. 

As regarding the Palestinian cause, I've read every book, article I could lay my hands on; I have gathered information from all sources I could find; Jewish and non-Jewish. And what I found was: Jews, generally speaking, are a cancer that must be nipped in the bud, parasites that must be crippled. They are arrogant, racists, trouble-makers wherever they are, liars, cheaters and deceptive; Godless people who would use any means to achieve diabolical  schemes they concocted to destroy anybody who is not a Jew regardless of what the sacrificial lamb would be, as in some cases it was their own people.

They have corrupted the Goyim, gentiles (derogatory labels for non Jews) by using means mentioned in the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, to such an extent that the corrupt non-Jews have become like a piece of dough in their hands to shape in any form they desire.       

Regrettably I have to mention that many of the American president throughout the American history were that piece of dough. Barak Obama is the latest one of them.
