Uprooted Palestinians are at the heart of the conflict in the M.E Palestinians uprooted by force of arms. Yet faced immense difficulties have survived, kept alive their history and culture, passed keys of family homes in occupied Palestine from one generation to the next.
Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem warned that “Any ‘Israeli’ attack on Lebanon will be met with a response from Hezbollah. Even if [Lebanon] is dragged to a war, we will face this war. Our weapons are loaded. If we need more [weapons] – we have our ways to rearm ourselves.”
In an interview with Al-Manar TV, Sheikh Qassem added: “We are waiting for the Lebanese government’s position on the indirect negotiations with [the ‘Israeli’ enemy] regarding the border issue, and when our turn arrives, we will do our duty.”
On another level, His Eminence announced: “If the companies and the central bank don’t take action to secure the country’s fuel needs, we will continue to bring in petroleum products. Hezbollah is ready to bring in diesel through official border crossings, but some in the country are afraid of the US and its sanctions.”
Sheikh Qassem also reiterated that “the Iranian diesel that entered Lebanon is a national commodity.” He revealed that “the quantity requested by the Lebanese merchants is about 25 million liters,” and he pointed out that “the balance of power is what brought Iranian diesel to Lebanon.”
“I want to ask those who talk about sovereignty how some parties and associations receive their American support.”
Meanwhile, His Eminence highlighted that “Hezbollah’s stock is very important at the level of the whole country, and the party has allies from all sides and within all groups.”
“Those who oppose Hezbollah have a problem with the party because it presented a model in resistance and succeeded in social and political work,” he added.
Sheikh Qassem further blamed “the absence of economic plans, corruption, and American sanctions for leading the country to this state.”
“The Iranian diesel that passed through Syria broke the most important siege on Lebanon in its entire history,” he said, noting that “Iranian diesel elicited an American decision approving the import of Egyptian gas to Lebanon through Syria.”
The Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General also stressed that “the confusion that occurred among the Americans and their scramble to find solutions was caused by Iranian diesel.”
He explained that “the nuclear negotiations, according to the directives from [Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence] Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, are focused on the nuclear issue, and there are no other topics being discussed.”
“No negotiation took place regarding the issue of diesel or any other issue,” Sheikh Qassim stated. “Iran is helping Lebanon. It has never taken or asked for anything regarding this matter, and we are working for Lebanon and its people.”
In parallel, Sheikh Qassem asserted that “the Lebanese government is responsible for following up on any problems regarding the demarcation of the border.”
“We are waiting for the position of the Lebanese government on the issue of land and sea borders, and when it is our turn, we will do our duty.”
He pointed out that Hezbollah has always been committed to a “government being formed in order to start solving the country’s problems. […] The government can work on the issue of wage correction, addressing the fuel crisis, and curbing the dollar.”
“There is no objection to discussing with the IMF to reach common convictions, but we do not accept a ready-made recipe,” Sheikh Qassem continued.
“The government must develop a rescue plan, with one of its goals being to ease the burden on the people.”
With regard to the upcoming parliamentary elections, Sheikh Qassem voiced support for holding the parliamentary elections on time, adding that now with the formation of the government, the chances of holding the elections have become great.
He also unveiled that “for about eight months, our team has been working on the voter registration list and the distribution of districts, and we have put in place mechanisms to manage the elections. […] We have a structure and are working on it, and all our preparations are ready for the upcoming elections.”

جاءت سفينة المقاومة كطليعة لأخواتها لتفتح الباب لجملة تطورات في العديد من الملفات، ففي الملف السياسي كانت السفينة رسماً لمعادلة جديدة عنوانها نقل مفاعيل معادلة الردع التي أرستها المقاومة في البر إلى البحار، في لحظة تراجع وارتباك أميركية بعد الانسحاب من أفغانستان بما حمله من تعبير عن الاعتراف الأميركي بفشل اللجوء إلى فائض القوة العسكري لصناعة السياسة، وسعي الإدارة الأميركية لتفادي الانخراط في مواجهات تعرض قواتها وسياساتها للخطر من دون أن تكون هذه المواجهات دفاعاً صريحاً عن الأمن الأميركي بوجه تهديد غير قابل للتأويل، وفي لحظة نزف مستمر لكيان الاحتلال تحت وطأة معادلات المواجهة في فلسطين والقلق من تسييل قوة المقاومة من لبنان نحو فلسطين تحت شعار القدس تعادل حرباً إقليمية، بحيث صارت السفينة تحدياً لقرار بحجم التورط الأميركي «الإسرائيلي» بحرب، أو تقبل تمدّد معادلة الردع نحو البحار كمسار قابل للتوسع، ليست عملية التنقيب عن النفط والغاز واستخراجه إلا أولى الخطوات المرشحة لتشكيل حلقة من حلقاته، أو البحث عن بديل ثالث، بدأت طلائعه برفع الحظر الأميركي عن استعادة العلاقة مع سورية نقيضاً لما بشر به قانون قيصر، من بوابة أولى ستتسع كلما كانت المعادلة حاضرة، وهي ستحضر، والبوابة كانت بالتراجع عن منع رسمي لاستجرار الكهرباء الأردنية والغاز المصري عبر سورية، والخطوة الأهم في البديل التراجعي أمام مسار السفينة كانت بالتدخل الأميركي المباشر للضغط لولادة عاجلة للحكومة ومسابقتها لوصول السفينة، وفتح الباب لتجديد تمويل دعم استيراد المحروقات من قبل مصرف لبنان، وكل الذي يجري يعني القول بالتسليم بالفائض السياسي لمعادلة الردع على البر مقابل تجميد مفاعيلها في البحر، والتجاذب مستمر بين المسارين.

جاءت السفينة لتصيب كبد النظام الريعي الذي جمع فيه قطاع المحروقات ما كان يمثله أصلاً في بنية النظام الاقتصادي في الحرب الأهلية وبعدها، مع ما ورثه من موقع ومكانة القطاع المصرفي الشريك الكامل في اقتصاد المحروقات الذي تحول إلى ميدان حصري للعمل المصرفي مع توقف نظام الاستثمار في الدين وسندات الخزينة، وقد تحول اقتصاد المحروقات منذ بدء الأزمة إلى نقطة تقاطع الاحتكار وتجار الأزمات ومهربي الأموال إلى الخارج، فهذا الاقتصاد استحوذ بفضل الدعم المشبوه على أكثر من عشرة مليارات دولار من أموال المودعين، شكلت الأرباح منها أكثر من سبعة مليارات منها ما حول للخارج خلسة ومنها ما تحقق عبر التهريب والسوق السوداء، وتشاركت فيه قوى سياسية وتجار كبار ومصارف، وجاءت السفينة لتصيب هذا الاقتصاد في الكبد، فهي تبشر بدخول لاعب كبير، بقياس حجم الكميات التي ستدخل الأسواق، ونظيف وشريف، بقياس عدم سعيه لتحقيق الربح، ووطني، بقياس التزامه بعدم التمييز بين اللبنانيين على أساس المناطق والطوائف في التعامل مع هذا الملف خصوصاً، وبذلك تعيد السفينة تشكيل المشهد الاقتصادي بصيرورة مفتوحة على إعادة تشكيل للأحجام والأدوار والأنماط، وتتيح عبر مركزية قطاع الطاقة وضع الأسس لمفهومين جديدين، التوجه شرقاً، ورفع مكانة القطاعات الإنتاجية.

جاءت السفينة لتربك التنظيم الاجتماعي القائم على زيادة الأغنياء غنى والفقراء فقراً، لتضع أولوية جديدة في المفهوم الاجتماعي عنوانها أولوية مكانة الفقراء، سواء بحجم مكانتهم في الأولويات أو بحجم النتائج التي ستترتب على جداول نفقاتهم، وسيكون مفاجئاً التعرف إلى ما بدأت ملامحه في مناطق ما كانت لتنفتح يومياً على المقاومة، وأقيمت بينهما جدران عالية، حطمتها السفينة، ولأن الخطر الأكبر الذي أطاح بكل مفاعيل مسعى تغييري شعبي كان الانقسام الطائفي القابل للتحول بسرعة إلى عصبيات قاتلة، فان أهم ما بدأت ملامحه بالظهور مع السفينة هو هذا الانفتاح للمناطق على بعضها من خارج جدران الطوائف والعصبيات، حتى بدأت القوى الطائفية تتحسس الخطر.

سفينة نوح اللبنانية جمعت عناوين مصيرية كبرى في السياسة والاقتصاد والمجتمع، وشكلت نقطة انطلاق لمسار إنقاذي من الطوفان الذي كانت بوادره تقترب.
Beirut – On the 16th of February 2018, Hezbollah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah announced the first direct threat regarding the maritime dispute between Lebanon and “Israel”.
He stated that the conflict concerning Block 9 in the Lebanese maritime borders is the battle of all the Lebanese nation. His Eminence issued a warning on any drilling by the “Israeli” occupation regime concerning the disputed borders.
Since then and on several occasions, Hezbollah emphasized on the importance of the maritime borders dispute, taking in consideration the “Israeli” ambitions concerning oil and gas sources in the disputed waters.
Considering the full support of the United States to “Israel” regarding the maritime dispute, and with the US government vetoing oil and gas extraction from the Lebanese water, the latter faced a heavy siege on several aspects especially on the fuel and gasoline sources, which caused a severe crisis in the power plants and transportation sectors, leading to an immense shortage on both parts.
The US-“Israeli” message has been delivered to all the Lebanese parties and public, as any government backed by Hezbollah and its allies will face sanctions affecting the country’s efficiency and life concerns; in the light of this, the resulting crisis will be attributed to Hezbollah’s policy.
Amid the severe crisis taking place, Hezbollah had to deal with it in a matter of short time, and a very precise act to face the sanctions and the siege imposed on the country.
The Caesar Act imposed lately on Syria by the US government, is an additional method that made a crystal clear image of the American siege, which might put a lot of obstacles and barriers towards any step forward to solve the current social and economic issues resulting from it.
Hezbollah’s political council and Sayyed Nasrallah on different occasions tackled the issue of the US-imposed Caesar Act, accusing it of being the direct cause of the current crisis. They demanded a quick lift of this act and all other sanctions related to Lebanon and Syria together, plus the American prohibition on any international aid to Lebanon, be it financial or social.
To rub salt into the wound, the currency inflammation caused by the governor of Lebanon’s central bank Riad Salameh, a US ally, as he collaborated mostly with the latter government in the severe drop of the dollar exchange rate, made things even worse.
The more tightened the US siege is, the more badly the Lebanese society is affected, especially with the 80% decrease in economic security.
In the light of Hezbollah’s long lasting patience, Sayyed Nasrallah announced the finalized deterrence equation in Lebanon on the 10th of Muharram, through receiving a fuel tanker from Iran, breaking the American siege. Moreover, His Eminence confirmed that the ship will be considered a Lebanese land, in a step forward to deter the “Israeli” occupation from attacking or besieging the ship itself.
Following the Ashura commemoration, Sayyed Nasrallah declared the arrival of 3 other fuel tankers, in addition to several others as long as the current circumstances circle the Lebanese people in a bid to earn financial security – which Hezbollah has successfully earned given all the political reactions to the His Eminence’s announcement – most importantly, the deterrence equation in Lebanon by land, air and sea has been successfully accomplished.
Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem says the Lebanese resistance movement does not seek a military confrontation with the Tel Aviv regime, but would not stand any act of aggression by the “Israeli” military on Lebanon’s soil.
“Lebanese people are confident that Hezbollah will always be on their side, and the movement will utilize all means at its disposal to assist the public,” Sheikh Qassem said in an interview with Lebanon’s Arabic-language al-Nour radio station on Friday.
He described Hezbollah’s recent retaliation against “Israeli” shelling and airstrikes on southern Lebanon with a rocket barrage as a well-developed plan anchored in precise instructions.
Sheikh Qassem highlighted that the Lebanese resistance movement will never use people as human shields or for political purposes, and pays meticulous attention whenever it wants to take a decision.
Hezbollah announced in a statement that its units hit “open fields” near “Israeli” positions at 11:15 a.m. local time [0815 GMT] on August 6, using “dozens” of 122mm caliber rockets.
“We wanted to tell the enemy … that any airstrike by the “Israeli” air force on Lebanon will inevitably draw a response, though in a suitable and proportionate way, because we want to serve the purpose of protecting our country,” he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Sheikh Qassem described attempts by certain parties to establish the United States’ and the “Israeli” entity’s dominance over Lebanon as the root cause of the Arab nation’s worsening crisis, emphasizing that Hezbollah will stand against such bids.
“Ever since Hezbollah was established, the resistance movement has worked for [Lebanon’s] social, moral and political solidarity. It firmly believes that the group should confront ‘Israel’ militarily, and the results of such resilience should be tapped to cement social and political solidarity.
“People’s interest in Hezbollah stems from their trust in the resistance movement, and the fact that the group will never leave them in a difficult situation without any help. We are doing everything we can to help them. However, we do not have enough resources to solve the current crisis. Certain groups are trying to leave all the blame at our door and don’t want to address the government’s incompetence,” the senior Hezbollah official said.
Last week, Hezbollah Secretary-General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said the Lebanese resistance movement does not pursue war, but is not afraid of one either since it is certain about its chances of victory.
Sayyed Nasrallah described the August 6 retaliation as only a fraction of what Hezbollah is capable of carrying out, saying the group has a reliable array of defensive choices at its disposal in case of a conflict.
“Our response was linked to the “Israeli” strikes that occurred in south Lebanon for the first time in 15 years,” His Eminence said on Saturday in a televised speech ahead of the anniversary of the victory over the “Israeli” entity in the 2006 war.
Did the latest “Israeli” air attacks on southern Lebanon come as a surprise? Tel Aviv claims the strikes are a response to attacks on occupied areas in northern Palestine and a bid to break the long course of deterrence that has been around for nearly 15 years since Resolution 1701 was issued in 2006.
But what was more surprising was Hezbollah’s missile response against the backdrop of those attacks that targeted occupied areas in the Shebaa Farms and the Upper Galilee. So, how should all this be interpreted? Is it accurate to say that the two sides, or one of them, chose to change the rules of engagement enforced since the end of the July 2006 aggression? What is the best way to describe the current situation and how will it develop?
Hezbollah’s limited missile response, targeting uninhabited areas in the vicinity of “Israeli” military sites and not targeting these sites directly, carries several messages:
The resistance movement isn’t interested in escalating the situation and widening the confrontation.
The resistance isn’t interested in breaking the rules of engagement that came into force following the 2006 resolution.
The resistance is also not afraid of responding or the repercussions in case this aggression was one form of the enemy’s response, which isn’t far from the concepts of aggression that were restricted or controlled by the rules of engagement until now.
The resistance is also ready to deal with any change that “Israel” makes in the rules of engagement or in terms of the restrictions of the conflict or dispute.
More importantly perhaps, the resistance isn’t concerned about “Israel’s” efforts to exploit the situation in Lebanon with respect to the economic, financial, and social decline. Hezbollah separates conflicts, clashes, and confrontations with the enemy from the internal crisis in Lebanon. Nevertheless, “Israel” is the main contributor to the worsening state of affairs as it views the Lebanese economic and financial crisis as an alternative to the military confrontation that it feared and distanced itself from.
On the other hand, what “Israel” wanted from the recent escalation [the air raids on Lebanese territory] included tactical military and political objectives.
Militarily, “Israel” has been attempting to reveal several ambiguities, which Hezbollah succeeded in keeping ambiguous:
What new capabilities and weapons does it have?
What new tactics does it use, in defense or in attack?
What are its intentions in case “Israel” carried out an attack or if it did not carry out an attack?
“Israel” doesn’t want to tolerate these ambiguities but isn’t willing to engage in a broad confrontation to get answers. Instead, it’s feeling the pulse with a limited air and artillery attack, which focused on uninhabited areas and didn’t cause any losses.
Israel also quickly demonstrated, prior to the completion of the missile and artillery exchange with Lebanon, that it is not interested in a broad confrontation, and that it does not want to go towards expanding the engagement or hostilities.
For its part, Hezbollah has shown what it wants in this confrontation and the restrictions it adheres to and at the same time the points or actions it does not accept and considers a change in the rules of engagement. And with “Israel’s” unwillingness to create new rules of engagement, we can conclude that the last round of escalation in the south has gone to the square of cautious calm, after “Israel” sensed that any uncalculated adventure will not be safe at a time when it does not seem ready to bear the repercussions.
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah stressed on Saturday that the Resistance won’t allow the Israeli enemy to change the rules of engagements, warning that the Israeli army will be destroyed in any future war.
In a televised address via Al-Manar on the fifteenth anniversary of divine victory in the 2006 July War, Sayyed Nasrallah said that the balance of deterrence is the most strategic achievements of the 33-day war.
His eminence described the Israeli aerial aggression on south Lebanon on Thursday as a dangerous development, elaborating on the Resistance retaliation in Shebaa Farms which took place on Friday.
The Hezbollah S.G. also said that Hezbollah doesn’t fear a war with the Zionist entity, affirming that the Lebanese Resistance party is fully prepared to confront any Israeli war.
On the issue of Beirut Port blast, Sayyed Nasrallah slammed anti-Hezbollah propaganda launched by some foreign-backed Lebanese media outlets, warning against politicizing and dealing with double standards regarding this case.
Touching upon Khalde ambush last week, Sayyed Nasrallah described the attack as a massacre committed by gangs, stressing that the issue will be settled through the Lebanese state institutions.
His eminence stressed that Hezbollah is following up on livelihood conditions in Lebanon and will exert efforts to meet the people’s needs. He reassured the Lebanese citizens and the Resistance supporters that the current ordeal the country has been facing won’t last long.
Balance of Deterrence
Starting his speech by talking about the occasion, Sayyed Nasrallah said that the first major responsibility nowadays is to maintain the achievements secured by the Resistance in July War in 2006.
“Such achievements were secured thanks to blood of martyrs and other forms of sacrifices of the Lebanese people.”
Sayyed Nasrallah described the balance of deterrence set up by the Resistance as the most strategic achievement of 2006 July War.
“Throughout 15 years, the Israeli enemy has not dared to stage aerial attack on Lebanon, except for a conflicting strike on a border area between Lebanon and Syria in 2014.”
He noted in this context that the Israeli enemy has been in the last years carrying out strikes in Syria in a bid to achieve two goals: the first is to offer aid to foreign-backed terrorists and the second is to prevent Hezbollah from developing its military capabilities and especially from attaining precision missiles.
Reaching about Thursday’s Israeli air strikes on Al-Jarmak and Al-Shawakeer areas in south Lebanon, Sayyed Nasrallah said the attack is a dangerous development that has not happened in 15 years.
He clarified that some retaliatory operations by the Resistance are not bounded by time, but noted that other operations can’t be delayed. In this context, he said that the Resistance retaliation to Thursday’s aggression could not be postponed.
“Yesterday, we chose to strike an open area and during the day. Then our retaliation was fully-considered. We issued a statement in which we claimed responsibility for the operation, and we have the courage to announce our responsibility for any resisting action against the Israeli enemy,” his eminence stated.
Rules of Engagement
Sayyed Nasrallah stressed, meanwhile that the aim of the retaliatory strike on Friday is to maintain rules of engagement which the Israeli enemy attempted to change.
“Any strike in the future will be retaliated for in an appropriate way. We won’t throw away the achievements which were secured by blood.”
Sayyed Nasrallah chose to send clear and direct messages to the Israeli enemy by warning its officials against making wrong estimations.
“To Israeli commanders I say: Don’t miscalculate by estimating that we are busy with our internal issues, no matter how these issues are pressuring. To us, it’s our responsibility to defend our people so don’t bet on livelihood pressures on the Lebanese people.”
His eminence also warned Israeli commanders against betting on the disagreements among the Lebanese sides and on schemes aimed at inciting the environment of the Resistance against Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, Sayyed Nasrallah noted that Friday’s strike was just retaliation to Thursday’s aggression, and had no relation with Hezbollah’s revenge to the Zionist entity’s killing of Resistance fighters Ali Mohsen (in Syria) and Mohammad Tahhan (on Lebanese-Palestinian border).
The Hezbollah S.G. also warned that Hezbollah’s retaliation to any future aggression could be in the north of the Zionist entity.
“We can strike Galilee or Golan; our choices are open.”
His eminence warned Israeli commanders against committing any folly.
“The most major idiocy that Israeli commanders would commit is to take a decision to launch a war against Lebanon.
Shwayya Interception
Sayyed Nasrallah slammed the incident where some citizens intercepted Hezbollah fighters who were firing rockets on Shebaa Farms on Friday in Shwayya southern town, describing it as regrettable and shameful incident that has dangerous indications.
“When I saw the footage of the incident I was impressed. I hoped that I could reach those fighters and kiss their hands and their foreheads.”
He said that the affiliation of those who intercepted the Hezbollah vehicle is well known, noting that some of Shwayya residents defended the Resistance fighters. In this context, he urged the Resistance supporters not to generalize in dealing with this incident, noting that most of Lebanese Druze back the Resistance against the Israeli enemy.
Sayyed Nasrallah, meanwhile, hailed the fighters’ discipline and wisdom.
“Our fighters were ordered to fire only 20 rockets on targets in Shebaa Farms. The rocket launcher has the capacity for 31 rockets. I could see the rest 11 rockets still in the launcher. Our fighters are highly disciplined. And when they were attacked, they exert high levels wisdom and patience, for they were armed. However, they did not use their weapons against their brothers in the country.”
Beirut Port Blast First Anniversary
Touching upon the Beirut Port blast, Sayyed Nasrallah pointed to the US-Saudi campaign against Hezbollah, saying that such propaganda was launched in the first hours that followed the blast last year on August 4.
“Since the first day, political investment started by several media outlets upon orders by the US and Saudi Arabia. Such channels tried to propagate that Hezbollah was storing ammunition and arms in the port. All sides who probed the blast reached a conclusion that there were no arms in the port. However, when this scenario failed they resort to propagate scenario of the Ammonium Nitrate.”
“All what was said about Hezbollah in this regard is baseless, politicized and dealt with double standards.”
His eminence addressed the families of the blast victims by urging them to go to Judge Tarek Bitar and asking him to announce the result of the technical probe which is over now.
Sayyed Nasrallah here slammed the investigation into Beirut Port blast as politicized, accusing the Lebanese judiciary of dealing with double standards with the issue.
Khalde Ambush and Ashura Commemoration
Commenting in the attack on funeral of Ali Shebli last Sunday, Sayyed Nasrallah said the shooting was neither an incident, nor a clash.
“It was a deliberate ambush by criminal gangs. It was a massacre in which 3 people were martyred and 16 others were wounded. We were patient out of power and wisdom rather than out of weakness and fear.”
“The Resistance supporters dealt responsibly with the issue. All perpetrators of Khalde ambush must be held accountable, and the issue of blocking Beirut-south highway must be settled.”
On the governmental issue, Sayyed Nasrallah said that Hezbollah awaits the results of talks between President Michel Aoun and PM-designate Najib Mikati.
He added that Hezbollah has been closely monitoring the livelihood conditions and the feul shortage in the country, noting that the Resistance part will exert efforts to meet the Lebanese people demands.
Touching upon Ashura commemoration this year, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed on importance of abiding by COVID-19 health protocols, warning that Ashura ceremonies could be cancelled if the people don’t commit to health measures.
Hi eminence concluded his speech by reassuring Lebanese people that the ordeal which Lebanon has been passing through won’t last long.
“The path of the Axis of Resistance is a path of victory.”
Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in a speech on the occasion of the 2006 July War, addresses local as well as regional issues – from the southern border retaliations to military equations.
Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said, “The most important accomplishment of the 2006 war is achieving deterrence against Israel – this is the most important strategic and historic achievement.”
In his speech on the anniversary of the July 2006 victory, Nasrallah stated, “The victory of the July War has entered into a new stage through the heroic confrontations of the Sword of Jerusalem battle,” continuing to say, “The most prominent strategic achievement is striking a balance of deterrence and rules of engagement that protect and guarantee the security and safety of Lebanon.”
Sayyed Nasrallah pointed out that, “For 15 years since the July War, Israeli raids haven’t hit a target in Lebanese territory – Lebanon has enjoyed an unprecedented-since-1948 security and tranquility,” adding that “what prevents the Israeli enemy from launching raids is its fear of a major confrontation with the resistance.”
He stressed, “What prevents this vicious and murderous enemy, which is protected by the United States and Arab countries, from attacking Lebanon? They fear a war on their army, which collapsed in 2006, a war on their infrastructure – they’re afraid for their existence.”
The Secretary-General of Hezbollah said, “Before 2006 and beyond, the primary issue of the Israeli enemy was the weapons of the resistance,” pointing out that “some groups in Lebanon help whether they realize it or not, to achieve the goal of disarmament of the resistance.”
Furthermore, Nasrallah also spoke about the recent aggression against Lebanese territory, explaining that “What happened a few days back was a dangerous development that has not happened since 15 years.” He said that “Some matters require an immediate response… if retaliation is delayed, it loses its value.”
The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, addressing the back-and-forth which happened two days ago, said, “Our actions were intentional; they targeted an open area, we targeted an open area. This was to reinforce the old equation of deterrence, and not create a new one.” He explains that the capabilities of the resistance have increased through its wide possession of precision missiles, which Hezbollah owns now in large numbers.
He added, “We purposely responded to the Israeli rockets during the day out of respect for people’s emotions so that they don’t feel fear and terror during the night,” noting that Hezbollah has the courage to take responsibility for their actions in all formality – that includes issuing a statement along with the bombardment to send a message to the enemy.
Sayyed Nasrallah said, “An old equation was reinforced: they bomb an open area, we bomb an open area,” continuing, “Any strike on Lebanon will be responded to in a proportionate manner.”
He stressed that “we will not neglect the achievements of the resistance in the July war, regardless of the dangers, because that will create safegrounds for the enemy to harass Lebanon,” stressing that “whatever the internal situation in Lebanon is, for us, protecting our country and our people is our first responsibility.”
“What happened yesterday is a response to the airstrikes only and has nothing to do with the response to the assassination of the two dear martyrs, Muhammad Qassem Tahan and Ali Kamel Mohsen,” he reassured.
Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem affirmed yesterday to Al-Mayadeen that “The Israeli occupation must understand that Lebanon is not an open arena for settling accounts in it,” stressing that “Israel must remain deterred.”
On Wednesday evening, the Israeli Air Force attacked targets in southern Lebanon, according to the Israeli media, “in response to the launching of 4 missiles from Lebanon” towards “Israel.”
The Lebanese resistance responded Friday by bombing the occupied lands in Shebaa. Yesterday, Israeli media reported that 20 rockets were launched, indicating that “the recreation centers in the north remained relatively empty after the rockets were launched from Lebanon.”
The People of the Resistance Are Those of Patience, Endurance
Hezbollah Secretary-General touched on the conflict that took place Friday in the Lebanese village Shwaya, saying that posting the incident was a “disgrace,” for he was touched by the scenes he saw, sympathizing with others who saw it. “When I saw what happened in Shwaya I wished I was able to get to the young men so I could kiss their foreheads and hands,” he added.
Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that the people of the resistance are those of patience and endurance, adding that they will always be in the position to sacrifice themselves and remain steadfast.
“The rockets in the launcher are evident of the resistance fighters’ discipline, for the order was to launch 20 rockets,” he noted.
“Our fighters were ordered to launch only 20 rockets on targets in Shebaa Farms. The rocket launcher has the capacity of 31 rockets. I could see the 11 remaining rockets still in the launcher,” he continued.
The Secretary-General addressed the people of Shwaya and Hasbaiyya, telling them that if Hezbollah were able to attack the targeted sites from Shiite areas, they would have. He said they were militarily obligated to launch the rockets from the areas from which they were launched.
Nasrallah called on everyone not to hold the people of Shwaya and the Druze sect responsible for the assault on the resistance fighters. “It was not the people of Shwaya who attacked the fighters, and we appreciate everyone who stands by the resistance,” he added.
Sayyed Hassan indicated that those who carried out the attack against “Israel” were highly disciplined and wise, stating that those who assaulted them must be held accountable and brought to justice.
Beirut Blast Anniversary
Regarding the Beirut Blast, whose anniversary was commemorated Wednesday, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said, “Since the first day, political investment started by several media outlets upon orders by the US and Saudi Arabia.”
“All parties who probed the blast reached a conclusion that there were no arms in the port,” he added, continuing to say, “When this scenario failed, they resorted to propagating the ammonium nitrate scenario.”
“Is there anything more ridiculous and worse than accusing Hezbollah of storing ammonium nitrate in the Beirut Port?” Wondered Sayyed Hassan, stressing that everything said since the blast is illogical and has no goal other than distorting the truth.
Nasrallah said if Hezbollah wanted to politically utilize the blast, they would have said the parties supporting the armed groups in Syria were the ones who brought the ammonium nitrate to Lebanon.
He indicated that those who spread fake news to mislead the investigation and public opinion insulted the blast’s martyrs, saying they turned a national and humanitarian cause into a political and sectarian one.
“Hezbollah fears no investigation, for it is not facing accusations from the judicial authorities,” Nasrallah added, saying what Hezbollah truly fears is the loss of truth, that is why the judiciary must announce its findings.
Secretary-General Nasrallah said, “What we are asking for is the announcement of the investigation’s findings.” He sees that the probe into the Beirut Blast is politicized and subject to discretion.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah addressed the families of those martyred and injured in the Beirut Blast by saying, “Do not allow the politicization of your children’s blood.”
Confrontations erupted Wednesday near Parliament in Beirut, Lebanon, between Lebanese demonstrators and the security services in light of the protests commemorating the Beirut blast on its first anniversary.
Khalde Incident Was a Massacre
Nasrallah touched on the crime that took place Sunday in Khalde, during which two Lebanese civilians were assaulted and murdered. He said, “What happened in Khalde was not an accident, it was a massacre perpetrated by a gang of criminals and murderers.
He stressed the need for arresting all those involved in the Khalde massacre as soon as possible and bringing them to justice.
“We need a definitive solution for the issue of assaulting people and blocking the highway leading to the south,” he said, adding that those insisting on assaulting civilians and threatening civil peace must be arrested.
“Our issue is not with the Khalde Arabs nor the Arab Tribes, but rather with the murderous criminal group,” Nasrallah asserted.
Lebanon is on the verge of collapse; thanks to chronic corruption and US siege and sanctions. The economy is deteriorating, the central bank is almost bankrupt. No hard currency is available to provide the basics from food to medications and fuel.
In many times in the past, still true now, Washington refused to help or let others help Lebanon to defend its territories and protect its people from the continuous “Israeli” aggressions; even when the Takfiri groups like Daesh [Arabic Acronym for the terrorist “ISIS/”ISIL”] and Al-nusra started their aggressions we have never seen any support or help from the US who claims to be Lebanon’s and the Lebanese friend. The US arrogant logic supposes they can fool governments and people alike; they overlook the sheer fact that they themselves invented Daesh has admitted by their officials and pretend they can convince others they want to help fighting it.
Washington and its allies would resort to any measure with no restrictions, political or moral to make their plots a reality.
On the “Israeli” level, Washington supports and protects the Zionist entity by all means. The US has given hundreds of billions of dollars of financial aid to its ally; supplied it with the most advanced high tech weaponry to guarantee its military supremacy over “Israel’s” enemies’ altogether. The veto power has always been ready to exempt “Israel” from any condemnation by the international community.
All “Israeli” invasions, occupations, aggressions, incursions and massacres have been approved and supported by Washington.
When the resistance in Lebanon, namely Hezbollah has successfully been able to liberate considerable parts of the occupied country, Washington was very concerned and it did everything possible to reverse the tide, but luckily to no avail.
Hezbollah, not only liberated the Lebanese occupied territories and defended the people, but it also has built a remarkable military force that established a new formula between Lebanon and “Israel”, a formula of deterrence that stretched to protect other regional areas as well.
More important, Hezbollah activities did not limit itself to military actions as a resistance, rather it has established a huge network of social and humanitarian work; schools, hospitals, water plants etc.in an effort to build a society of solidarity and steadfastness.
Nowadays, as the US administration tightens its sanctions and siege against Lebanon to the maximum; Hezbollah finds itself again in a challenge to meet the mounting needs of the Lebanese people, and here, we are talking about basic needs like electricity, water, fuel, medication and food supplies. It is worth mentioning that this task is the government responsibility par excellence, but with the absence of any serious effort from the official authorities and the governments departments the party offered help and promised to bring fuel from Iran with huge facilities on many levels.
Hezbollah has also launched a series of vital projects to maintain people’s steadfastness. The party urged the government to take a bold step and consider resorting to China and Russia to receive supplies and help.
With the Lebanese struggling and suffering and barely making their ends meet, the official authorities are still hesitant, father reluctant to take such a step. Lebanon has no other choices, but those options are enough to start a salvation campaign to pit things back on track.
Hezbollah efforts are praised and blessed but they are not enough because they cannot be a replacement for the government. The latter should assume its responsibilities and take a courageous decision or at least expresses a serious intent to open up for China, Russia and Iran, this might prompt the US administration and its allies to reconsider their policies towards Lebanon.
The well-researched and presumably accurate calculations Washington thought it did over Lebanon might prove again how mistaken it is.
We are in a race between contradictory antagonistic conflicting strategies over Lebanon, however the country’s survival, safety and prosperity should definitely be always the priority. It is for us, because it is our country and our people, but not for America because it’s priorities have always been to support and protect our enemies!
This is another challenge that we meet, a real tough difficult one, but hopefully we will surmount it, with another success and victory again!
