Say " Orange Juice" instead........

Source

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the UN anti-racism conference, 20 April 2009

The man who called a spade , a spade !!

I would humbly, and with all the due respect
request from President Ahmadinejad
to be more careful when he mentions
about a racist-regime and a racist-ideology
during a conference on Racism , itself....
he should call Racism : "Orange Juice"
in order not to offend the racists themselves
nor the friends of the racists, too .

Indeed , Israel did not attend
but the friends of that racist-Israel
were attending that conference
and they walked-out of the meeting
a soon as , President Ahmadinejad
spoke about racism and Zionism- Israel.

About a dozen of European delegates
left the room as a sign of protest :
Probably those "white-asses" did not want
to hear somebody naming the racist during
a conference of racism....

The irony remains that a person like Ahmadinejad
is a descendant of a Persian Shah who once
freed all the Jews from captivity in Babylon.
And Ahmadinejad belongs to a religion that
forbids racism and that demand from the beleivers
to protect the Jews (and the Christians too)

While ,
those 12 European delegates are descendants
of the cultures and civilisations that discriminated
and burned the Jews from the year 0060 up to 1945.

While ,
all those 12 European delegates are from
a multitude of christian-churches who
never accepted Judaism and also
used to burn the Jews alive , too.

While ,
all those 12 European delegates represent
all the nations that from the 15Th century up to now
have colonialised and enslaved two-third of the Globe.

Here we are , at the summit of hypocrisy :
During a conference on Racism ,
the Racist cannot be named !!

Therefore ,
and to please those who invented
and practised racism for the last 500 years,
I beg of President Ahmadinejad
not to mention "Israel" anymore
....and just say :
Orange Juice.
(or orange Jews !)

Ahmadinejad to Stephanopoulos: "The right to determine their fate by the Palestinians should be respected by all of them."

'This Week' on ABC, here

STEPHANOPOULOS: "If the Palestinians sign an agreement with Israel, will Iran support it?"

AHMADINEJAD: "Whatever decision they take is fine with us. We are not going to determine anything. Whatever decision they take, we will support that. We think that this is the right of the Palestinian people, however we fully expect other states to do so as well: the U.S. administration, European governments. The right to determine their fate by the Palestinians should be respected by all of them."

All

Does this not

Huwaida Arraf: Heed voices calling for justice for Palestinians in the Seattle Times

Guest Columnist Heed voices calling for justice for Palestinians

The United States continues to supply Israel with approximately $3 billion in military aid annually, which allows Israel to continue abusing Palestinians and preventing any meaningful resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, writes guest columnist Huwaida Arraf.

By Huwaida Arraf

Special to The Times

WE Palestinians are often asked where the Palestinian Gandhi is and urged to adopt nonviolent methods in our struggle for freedom from Israeli military rule. On April 17, an Israeli soldier killed my good friend Bassem Abu Rahme at a nonviolent demonstration against Israeli confiscation of Palestinian land. Bassem was one of many Palestinian Gandhis.

One month prior, at another demonstration against land confiscation, Israeli soldiers fired a tear-gas canister at the head of nonviolent American peace activist Tristan Anderson from California. Tristan underwent surgery to remove part of his frontal lobe and is still lying unconscious in an Israeli hospital. In 2003, the Israeli military plowed down American peace activist Rachel Corrie with a Caterpillar bulldozer as she tried to protect a civilian home from demolition in Gaza. Shortly thereafter, an Israeli sniper shot British peace activist Tom Hurndall as he rescued Palestinian children from Israeli gunfire. He lay in a coma for nine months before he died.

Despite the killing of these unarmed civilians and documented evidence of systematic human-rights abuses, the U.S. continues to supply Israel with approximately $3 billion in military aid annually, allowing Israel to continue abusing Palestinians and preventing any meaningful resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The Israeli government orders the confiscation of Palestinian land for one of two main purposes: to build or expand illegal colonies or to construct the Wall that the International Court of Justice ruled illegal in 2004. In the case of Bassem's village of Bil'in, even the Israeli Supreme Court ordered the Israeli government to change the route of the Wall, though Israel has yet to comply. Consequently, Palestinian farmers cannot reach their crops and they are devastated economically. Israel's policy is intended to force Palestinians to give up and leave in order to survive.

When village residents gather weekly to protest, they use various creative methods of nonviolent resistance, including carrying mirrors up to the soldiers to show them "the face of occupation" or dressing as various politicians and wearing blindfolds to symbolize the world's blind eye to their struggle. The Israeli military meets them and their Israeli and international supporters with tear gas, grenades, and bullets.

Eyewitness accounts and a YouTube video of Bassem's killing attest to the fact that Bassem was not engaged in any kind of violent action when a soldier decided to fire a high-velocity tear gas canister — designed to be shot in the air or from a great distance — directly at his chest, fatally wounding him. In fact, just before he was shot, Bassem is heard calling to soldiers to stop shooting as a woman had been injured. Far too often, Israel tries to silence dissent by using disproportionate and sometimes lethal force against demonstrators.

In February, I led a delegation of American lawyers to the Gaza Strip to investigate Israel's conduct in its 22-day military offensive during which more than 1,400 Palestinians were killed and more than 5,300 injured, most of them civilians — a rate of more than 60 killed per day. We found disturbing evidence of willful killing of civilians, wanton damage to civilian property and deliberate blocking of humanitarian aid. These are violations of international law that may constitute war crimes. During the offensive, Israel attempted to avert international outrage by refusing to let foreign journalists enter Gaza.

The United Nations has appointed a team of experts, led by a renowned human-rights advocate — Richard Goldstone, a Jewish, South African judge — to investigate the conduct of both Israel and Hamas. Hamas has agreed to cooperate, but Israel has indicated an intention to block the investigation. Israel tries to silence the human-rights community by preventing access to the occupied territory and refusing to cooperate with U.N.-mandated inquiries.

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman claimed recently, "Believe me, America accepts all our decisions." I do not believe, however, that the United States condones the killing of my friend Bassem. But if President Obama is serious about true peace in the Middle East, he must demonstrate that Lieberman is wrong, break the American silence, and heed the voices of those calling for justice.

Results of Israeli military investigations in Gaza problematic

Link

Sunday, 26 April 2009 14:44 Written by Israeli human rights organizations

Israeli Human Rights organizations: Results of Israeli military investigations published today of alleged violations in Gaza are very problematic – the only way to truly investigate is through an external mechanism

Military investigation results published today refer to tens of innocent Palestinian Civilians killed by “rare mishaps” in Gaza during “Operation Cast Lead”. However, data collected by Israeli human rights organization shows that many civilians were killed in Gaza not due to “mishaps” but as a direct result of the Military’s chosen policy implemented throughout the fighting. The only way to investigate violations of human rights committed in Gaza is by establishing an external, extra-military investigation mechanism.

If the Military claims that there were no major deficiencies in its conduct in Gaza, it is not clear why Israel refuses to cooperate with the UN investigation team, led by the South African judge Richard Goldstone, which requests an investigation of alleged violations of international law by both Israel and Hamas.

Brown-Palestinian fleeing
from the White-Jews .
in 1948

There is today a UN international conference on Racism
in Geneva , Swisserland
which is about to re-declare that Zionism is racism.

You will not be surprised if I would tell you that
the United Sates of America and the State of Israel
shall not attend and nor agree on its final resolution.

It is worth remembering how the USA was founded
because should you ask my opinion, I would say
" the White-man robbed the Red-man from his country
while the Black-man build a new country
for the White-man "

(does it not sound familiar ??)

As for Israel I would say :
"White-Jew robbed the Brown-Arabs from their country
while later the Brown-and-Black-jews
build a wall around it "

(does is not sound realistic ??)

Racism has no colour ,
but it happens that the White-colour
"gets dirty" very often....... .and very fast too.

In 1977 the UN general assembly has already declared
"Zionism is a form of racism"
but in 1992 George (Papa) Bush managed to retract this resolution.

I , personally , would like to ask all of you :
" If Zionism were not to be racism,
then what is still left over to be called: racism ?? "
Israel is not only "The only Democracy"
it is rather
"The only racist-regine in the Middle East"

A message to the world: The apartheid wall will collapse one day

A message to the world: The apartheid wall will collapse one day

[ 26/04/2009 - 10:50 AM ]

WEST BANK, (PIC)-- Palestinian youths, and foreign activists have decided to send a unique message to the entire people of the world, objecting the racist, separation wall that the Israeli occupation authorities had built in the West Bank, and telling them that the "oppression" wall would, one day, collapse.

The message is composed of 2000 words, and written on the apartheid wall, stretching three kilometers along it, and carrying one meaning that the racist wall wouldn’t stay forever, and that it would fall one day, the activists confirmed.

Farid Ishak, the veteran South African human rights activist, was the one who wrote the message after he saw for himself the miserable living conditions of the Palestinian people, and the level of oppression that the wall had inflicted on them amidst unexplainable silence on the part of the international community.

Ishak, who was once jailed along with Nelson Mandela played an active role in the South African government that was born after the apartheid system in that country collapsed once and for all.

For her part, Jennifer, an American citizen, came to the West Bank to know more about the wall, and she was shocked by the adverse repercussions it had wreaked on the lives of the Palestinian people.

She decided to join and participate in writing the message, asserting, "I don’t think the Americans know a lot about this wall… I was shocked when I first came here and saw the facts on the ground that prompted me to join this group of youths in writing a message to the world".

Efforts of the Palestinian youths in this regard weren’t isolated as Palestinians artists still writing and drawing on the wall hundreds of phrases and drawings supporting the Palestinian cause, and going against the racist discrimination that the wall represents.

The Palestinian people had and still are rejecting the construction of the wall on their lands as they hold weekly demonstrations against it every Friday, in which, a number of them got killed, and tens others were wounded.

In 2004, the International Court of Justice ruled that the wall was illegal and violates international laws, and that it must be demolished.

An Arab-Church
where the beleivers pray
for
the one and only
and same Allah.

Today
It is Easter Sunday for the orthodox-churches
my congratulations !!
Al Massieh Qaam !!
Never mind that the other-christian- churches
have celebrated Eastern-Sunday one week before.

We Christians cannot agree on any date
among our own-co-Christians- fellow :

not even the Birth date of Jesus !!
not even if he married or not !!
not even if he has had brothers or not !!
and my own father , who was a pastor ,
refused to recognise that
Jesus turned the Water into Wine....

We Christians still have to agree
first of all
on the identity of Jesus !!

Never mind ... !!

in-spite of all the confusions and misinterpretations
in our Bible ,
we still consider ourselves as "one".

Never mind !! again

I know that some Jews who are no "jews" ,
and yet they even called themselves Jews.

Some people chose to call themselves "the chosen"
when nobody has chosen them
except Baron Rottchild
and Theodor Herzel.

Some people call themselves Semites
just to profit from anti-semitism.

Some people pretend to be the "chosen"
just to be able to chose , if they shall
rob Akka or rob Haifa.

Why to argue ?? why to fight ??
Jesus came and left
regardless which date it was !!!

Why to argue ?? why to fight ??
If there were a "promised-land"
this Land was, already delivered once
and then lost , again.....
so that " promise " was consumed !!

When we Christians and our brothers the Muslims
are waiting for the return of Jesus
we better be careful, this time.

Let us all wait until Nathaniahu and his people
go back to Brooklyn , first
and only then , when ,
Mr. Ismaiil Hanniyah
takes the place of Herodus
Jesus may came back, safely !!

IT'S FORMAL ~ THE IDF WAS HONOURABLE DUING THE GAZA SEIGE!

Source

THE ABOVE "GENTLEMAN", DEFENSE MINISTER EHUD BARAK, AN INTERNATIONALLY WANTED WAR CRIMINAL, WAS PUT IN CHARGE OF INVESTIGATIONS OF TREATMENT OF CIVILIANS BY THE IDF DURING THE RECENT ASSAULT ON GAZA.

IS HUMOR THE LATEST ISRAELI WEAPON?
ARE THEY HOPING THEIR CRITICS
WILL DIE LAUGHING?

IF THAT BE THE CASE, I WOULD LIKE TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE TO MADD TV OR SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE AS A COMEDY SKETCH. I WISH I COULD SAY SURELY THESE PEOPLE ARE JOKING. BUT SADLY, I CANNOT.

DO THEY REALLY BELIEVE THIS PAP BECAUSE OF THEIR TALMUDIC VALUES OR DO THEY THINK WE WILL SWALLOW IT WHOLE BECAUSE WE ARE DUMB GOYIM?

MY $.02 WILL BE IN DARK GREEN PRINT ALONG WITH ANY PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF OF THEIR FALSE STATEMENTS OF INNOCENCE. THE CLAIM THAT THERE WERE HAMAS AFFILIATED PEOPLE IN THE BUILDINGS CAN BE COMPLETELY DISCREDITED COMPLETELY. LET THAT EXCUSE COUNT FOR NOTHING AT ALL. EVEN THE ASSASSINATION OF A LEMON PICKER COULD BE JUSTIFIED BECAUSE A TERRORIST'S UNCLE'S WIFE BOUGHT HIS LEMONS!!!!

On Wednesday April 22, Israel announced that an internal investigation launched in response to accusations of war crimes determined that no such crimes were committed by Israeli troops during Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip. The internally-led IOF investigation was closed by Military Attorney General Achivai Mandelblit on 30 March 2009 just 11 days after it started, despite soldiers having made allegations of war crimes and grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions.

The world has been following the development of this investigation with much concern with almost all remaining critical of the investigation, which failed to acknowledge a single one of the well-documented war crimes committed including: the indiscriminate use of weapons in densely populated areas; using civilians as human shields and putting them in other positions of harm; firing at medical staff and preventing medical teams and ambulances from reaching the injured and dead; firing rockets deliberately into civilian areas, targeting civilians holding white flags; and targeting civilian installations like police stations, government offices, and other non-legitimate military targets. Particular incidences like the bombardment of the UN school, during which at least civilians were killed and injured demand particular attention.

THREE BROTHERS RELIVE THEIR TIME
AS HUMAN SHIELDS FOR THE IDF.

AMBULANCE WORKERS TARGETED BY IDF

One of a series of shots of a young man used
as a human shield by the IDF.

Following the release of the investigation results, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said that the army's willingness to probe itself "once again proves that the IDF is one of the most moral armies in the world."

Rain of phosphorus fire on the UN building full of refugees, women and children. The IDF had full advance knowledge of the GPS of every illegal target they destroyed. Still they attacked such places as well as hospitals and medical sites. Another Israeli crime against humanity according to the spineless UN.

Following the release of the investigation results, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said that the army's willingness to probe itself "once again proves that the IDF is one of the most moral armies in the world.

"The IDF is not afraid to investigate itself and in that, proves that its operations are ethical," said Barak. The defense minister added that he has "complete faith in the IDF, from the chief of staff to the last of the combat soldiers."

The rest of the world does not have such faith in these people. This investigation was a farce since invading soldiers were the only ones who testified. According to the young men who spoke out last month from BREAKING THE SILENCE, atrocities were encouraged and committed. Their words rang around the world everywhere but for North America where much of their testimony was altered to hide reality from North Americans.

The Israeli army’s chief rabbinate gave soldiers preparing to enter the Gaza Strip a booklet implying that all Palestinians are their mortal enemies and advised them that cruelty is a “good attribute”. The booklet, based on writings by Rabbi Shlomo Aviner, a well-known fundamentalist Rabbi, is entitled Go Fight My Fight: A Daily Study Table for the Soldier and Commander in a Time of War. It was published especially for Operation Cast Lead.

Breaking the Silence is calling for the firing of the chief military rabbi, Brigadier-General Avi Ronzki, over the booklet. The Army refuses to discuss this matter. Barak's terminology could perhaps be interpreted as he had absolute faith they would kill as many "violent Philistines" as possible.

Breaking the Silence also claims
that the army rabbinate

has been encouraging Israeli soldiers to disregard
international laws of war that protect civilians

A soldier using the pseudonym 'Ram' is also quoted in Ha'aretz describing the ways in which the rabbinate tried to turn Gaza into a Holy War:

The rabbinate brought in a lot of booklets and articles and their message was very clear: We are the Jewish people, we came to this land by a miracle, God brought us back to this land and now we need to fight to expel the non-Jews who are interfering with our conquest of this holy land. This was the main message, and the whole sense many soldiers had in this operation was of a religious war.
The inquiries were performed by five IDF colonels who were not involved in the fighting in Cast Lead, and examined reports of attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, medical personnel and facilities, United Nations facilities, and also the use of white phosphorous. The investigation, which was supervised by IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi, did find cases of civilians killed by mistaken fire on the part of IDF troops, but said the incidents were isolated.

These men might not have been in the actual fighting, but they could easily have been involved from behind the scenes. You must be very careful reading between the lines here.

Come on! From 1992 to 1994, Ashkenazi was effectively the SLA's direct supervisor. And from 1998 until the Israeli withdrawal in 2000, the SLA and its facilities came under Ashkenazi's overall jurisdiction as head of the Northern Command. This camp was one of the most atrocious torture centres ever, even by Israeli standards. And we are to believe his word on "isolated incidents"?

Another man, Dan Harel, who can tell the child
Jihad Abu Jbarah pictured below
that the IDF fought the good fight.

Deputy IDF Chief of Staff General Dan Harel said that in the dozens of cases they examined, they found that throughout Cast Lead the IDF "adhered to international law and maintained a high level of professionalism and morality."

The above page will show you crimes against humanity that prove just how reliable the words of this Harel creature are. The destruction you will see is an Israeli policy known as the
Dahiya Doctrine which advocates leaving behind total destruction combined with elements such as phosphorus or cluster bombs to render the area useless.

I ask Harel "Professionalism according to standards applied to specifically what profession? Genocide? House wreckers? Assassins of families drinking tea on the terrace?" Tell that story to young Jihad Abu Jbarah who was with his family on their terrace drinking tea when they were killed by Israeli-fired missiles. I am sure this motherless child appreciates IDF professionalism and morality!

The most glaring case of mistaken fire found by the inquiry was the attack on the Al-Dahiyeh family home in the Gaza City neighborhood of Zeitoun, in which 21 members of the same family were killed.

The attack on the Ad-Daya (reported in Israel as Al-Dahiyeh) family home in the Gaza City neighborhood of Zeitoun, in which 21 members of the same family were killed, was found be a result of a malfunction in the targeting system of the aircraft carrying out a mission targeting a suspected weapons storehouse dozens of meters away.

In the instance of Israeli artillery fire at UNRWA's Jabalia Elementary School (locally known as Al Fakhora School), in Jabalia Refugee Camp on 6 January at 3:30pm, where hundreds of Gazans had sought refuge, the IOF said its troops were responding to fire from militants near the school and that only 12 people died, five of whom were 'terror operatives."

The UN swears that they take the greatest of care to not harbour fighters of any sort in their establishments. Again, whose word is believed on the world stage?

Al Mezan's investigations confirmed that the IOF fired four shells, believed to be GPS-guided artillery shells, in the vicinity of the school. Three of the shells landed and exploded in an open area opposite to the southwestern part of the school yard. The other shell landed approx. 50 meters to the west of the school, hitting two houses and killing 11 people inside including five children. The shelling killed a total of 36 civilians and injured around 50 civilians, including 12 children and 6 women.

Many atrocities took place in this rural district. Once a thriving land of small farms, olive and fruit groves, it has been decimated to piles of rubble, mud and inadequate tents.

Women of Zeitoun stand in the midst of the destruction that was once a neighbourhood of fine homes set in an area of lush farms and fruit groves. Now, they live in tents in the mud. Many family members and friends are gone now.

The mistaken fire reportedly came as a result of a malfunction in the targeting system of the aircraft carrying out the mission. The IDF has called the incident "regretful", but said it resulted from "an operational mistake that is bound to happen during intensive fighting."

Gosh, their explanation certainly rings with concern or apology, doesn't it?

Another incident reported in the probe's findings was the case of an IAF attack on a truck that military intelligence had reported was carrying Grad rockets. After the attack, which killed 8 Palestinians, including 4 Hamas gunmen, it was determined that the truck was transporting gas canisters.

Tibi: No reason to acknowledge IDF inquiry

Ahmed Tibi: In Israel it is custom to accuse the victims

MK Ahmed Tibi (United Arab List) on Wednesday criticized the findings of the probe, saying "there's no reason to acknowledge the IDF inquiry, which comes from a murderous, secretive, and moaning army known for being murderous and for complaints and cover-ups.

Ariel Sharon, terrorist, international criminal, frequently referred to as the Butcher of any one of many places where he created wars and left destruction and death behind. His attitude, expressed below, is the attitude of Israeli Talmudic/Zionist leaders. So don't expect much more than this farce of an investigation from these people regarding their genocidal assault on Gaza.

srael may have the right to put others on trial,
but certainly no one has the right to put
the Jewish people and the State of Israel on trial.
~ Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon,
25 March 2001 quoted in BBC News Online

Tibi said "if these hundreds of civilians were killed knowingly, that is a war crime, and under Israeli law, it is considered even more severe."

The Zionists are making bestial attacks on Arab villages in which they show not the slightest discrimination for women and children, whom they kill as opportunity offers. ~ British
Major R.D. Wilson, December 20, 1947

Tibi added that he is "not surprised that the IDF has refused to cooperate with UN probes of mass killings in Gaza."

We Jews, we are the destroyers and will remain the destroyers. Nothing you can do will meet our demands and needs. We will forever destroy because we want a world of our own. ~ Jewish Author Maurice Samuels.

MK Mohammed Barakeh during a demonstration at Bilin where he was assaulted..

Head of the Hadash party Mohammed Barakeh also blasted the report, saying those who performed the inquiry are obscuring the truth about "war crimes that Israel committed in Gaza. There is a price for committing war crimes, and also for mistakes that cause war crimes."

Barakeh also criticized the source of the inquiry, saying "military officials are not commissions of inquiry, there are a part of the system that perpetrated these crimes, and is carrying out a cover-up."

Barakeh added that eventually those responsible for the "war crimes" will be brought to trial "from those at the top of the pyramid, all the way down to rank-and-file soldiers."

Human rights group B'Tselem: IDF inquiry flawed

An Israeli human rights group, B'Tselem, called the military's investigation flawed. and said it "does not answer the need for an independent inquiry outside the army that would look at the whole range of violations the army is incapable of looking at."

On the 3rd of April 2009, Goldstone was named as the head of the United Nations fact-finding mission to the Gaza Strip, investigating possible violations of international law by Israel during the 2008–2009 Israel–Gaza conflict. He responded to the announcement that he was "shocked, as a Jew", to be invited to head the mission. However, with his experience in the international courts in many high profile situations, he is definitely the man for the job. His credentials and ethics come across as flawless.

"It shows how important it is that Israel cooperate with the fact-finding mission of [Richard] Goldstone that would look at violations," said spokeswoman Sarit Michaeli, speaking on behalf of a group of human rights groups that have made this demand in the past.

Goldstone, a former United Nations chief prosecutor for war crimes, was recently appointed to head a UN investigation into atrocities allegedly committed during Israel's three-week war against Gaza's Islamic Hamas rulers.

The investigation called by the UN's Human Rights Council was only supposed to look at Israeli conduct. But Goldstone did not accept the assignment until the mandate was changed to also examine Palestinian actions.

Israel has not said whether it would cooperate with the Goldstone investigation. But it has rejected council investigations in the past, calling them biased.

Among questions being raised is whether Israel used disproportionate force and failed to protect civilians.

In one case, Israeli artillery fire reportedly hit near a UN school where hundreds of Gazans had sought refuge, killing an estimated 42 people. Israeli said its troops were responding to fire from militants near the school, and both the incident and number of casualties have been disputed.

In another instance, Gazans allege Israeli soldiers ordered 110 civilians into a warehouse, then shelled it the next day, killing 30. Israel denies the army targeted the warehouse.

Israel also has been criticized for using white phosphorus weapons, which can be legitimately used in war to create smoke screens or provide illumination.

But rights activists have said its use over populated areas can indiscriminately burn civilians and constitute a war crime.

Israel says its army took great care to avoid harming civilians in Gaza, preceding some airstrikes with leaflets or phone calls warning civilians to flee ~ a contention confirmed by Gaza residents.

Israel is preparing for potential legal action, barring the media from publishing pictures of officers' faces and their names for fear of investigations. It has promised legal and financial support for any officers facing trial, despite the difficulty of prosecuting Israelis.

IOA plans to confiscate 12,000 dunums of Palestinian land to expand settlement

Link

[ 26/04/2009 - 10:41 AM ]

RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation authority is planning to expand the settlement of Maaleh Adumim, east of occupied Jerusalem, after annexing 12,000 dunums of Palestinian land.

The Israeli radio on Sunday reported that a special committee of the housing ministry had finalized the expansion scheme, which is now waiting for the minister's endorsement.

The broadcast said that the committee was proposing the annexation of the Kidar settlement, which groups 800 settlers, to Maaleh Adumim, which means that all the lands between them, estimated at 12,000 dunums, would be also annexed.

The step meant that the Maaleh Adumim settlement, which is located east of occupied Jerusalem, would extend to south of the holy city other than its previous expansion to the north.
Palestinian sources said that the IOA was planning to build 6,000 new housing units in the area, adding that the expansion of Maaleh Adumim, the biggest settlement bloc in the West Bank, would separate the northern area of the West Bank from its southern area.

The incumbent Israeli government is pondering a number of solutions to the isolated settlements in the West Bank, not dismantling them but rather annexing them to nearest settlement blocs, which would lead to more land grabbing.

The torture was not invented in the USA
and neither was the democracy.

President Obama has decreed today

although torture itself , is practically illegal.

However ,
torture is practically- practised
by those who forbid it .

Foreign Money Seeks to Buy Lebanese Votes

Foreign Money Seeks to Buy Lebanese Votes

Hwaida Saad – New York Times
April 23, 2009

It is election season in Lebanon, and Hussein H., a jobless 24-year-old from south Beirut, is looking forward to selling his vote to the highest bidder.

“Whoever pays the most will get my vote,” he said. “I won’t accept less than $800.”

He may get more. The parliamentary elections here in June are shaping up to be among the most expensive ever held anywhere, with hundreds of millions of dollars streaming into this small country from around the globe.

Lebanon has long been seen as a battleground for regional influence, and now, with no more foreign armies on the ground, Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region are arming their allies here with campaign money in place of weapons. The result is a race that is widely seen as the freest and most competitive to be held here in decades, with a record number of candidates taking part. But it may also be the most corrupt.

Votes are being bought with cash or in-kind services. Candidates pay their competitors huge sums to withdraw. The price of favorable TV news coverage is rising, and thousands of expatriate Lebanese are being flown home, free, to vote in contested districts. The payments, according to voters, election monitors and various past and current candidates interviewed for this article, nurture a deep popular cynicism about politics in Lebanon, which is nominally perhaps the most democratic Arab state but in practice is largely governed through patronage and sectarian and clan loyalty.

Despite the vast amounts being spent, many Lebanese see the race — which pits Hezbollah and its allies against a fractious coalition of more West-friendly political groups — as almost irrelevant. Lebanon’s sectarian political structure virtually guarantees a continuation of the current “national unity” government, in which the winning coalition in the 128-seat Parliament grants the loser veto powers to preserve civil peace.

Still, even a narrow win by Hezbollah and its allies, now in the parliamentary opposition, would be seen as a victory for Iran — which has financed Hezbollah for decades — and a blow to American allies in the region, especially Saudi Arabia and Egypt. So the money flows.

“We are putting a lot into this,” said one adviser to the Saudi government, who added that the Saudi contribution was likely to reach hundreds of millions of dollars in a country of only four million people. “We’re supporting candidates running against Hezbollah, and we’re going to make Iran feel the pressure.”

As it happens, Lebanon has campaign spending limits this year for the first time, and the Arab world’s first system to monitor that spending, by the Lebanese chapter of Transparency International. But the limits — which are very loose to begin with — apply only in the last two months of the campaign. And they are laughably easy to circumvent, according to election monitors and Lebanese officials.

Reformers have tried and failed to introduce a uniform national ballot, which could reduce the influence of money and make the system less vulnerable to fraud. Currently, political parties or coalitions usually print up their own distinctive ballots and hand them to voters before they walk into the booth, making it easier to be sure they are getting the votes they have paid for.

Some voters, especially in competitive districts, receive cold calls offering cash for their vote. But mostly the political machines work through local patriarchs known as “electoral keys,” who can deliver the votes of an entire clan in exchange for money or services — scholarships, a hospital, repaved roads and so on.

In a country where the average public school teacher earns less than $700 a month, these payments are a significant source of support for many communities. And because each seat in the Lebanese Parliament is designated by religious sect, the elections tend to reinforce the essentially feudal power structure of Lebanon, with a network of men from known families providing for each sect and region.

All the major political groups deny buying votes, which is illegal under Lebanese law, but election monitors acknowledge that it is a routine practice. “Since the 1990s, more money has been coming in,” said Paul Salem, the director of the Carnegie Middle East Center here. “Unfortunately, the system adjusts to that and in a way comes to expect it, especially among the poor.”

In fact, many poorer Lebanese look to the elections as a kind of Christmas, when cash, health-care vouchers, meals and other handouts are abundant.

The largess extends across the globe. From Brazil to Australia, thousands of expatriates are being offered free plane trips back home to vote. Saad Hariri, the billionaire leader of the current parliamentary majority and a Saudi ally, is reputed to be the biggest election spender. It may not have helped that he kicked off his campaign with a gaudy televised event that resembled the set of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.” But members of his movement say that the accusation is unfair, and that their own money is outmatched by the hundreds of millions of dollars Iran has given to Hezbollah over the years.

Lebanon Candidates and political parties generally will not admit to receiving money from abroad.
One of them, however, recently broke with convention by acknowledging it openly. Ahmed al-Asaad, 46, said that Saudi Arabia’s government was a “significant source of support” for his campaign against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. He said his goal was to pull the Shiites of Lebanon away from Iran.

“I need tools to fight back, and if the Saudis have an interest in building a state here, why shouldn’t I take advantage of that?” said Mr. Asaad, an American-educated businessman, during an interview at his office just outside Beirut.

Candidates who do not ally themselves with a powerful patronage machine are almost unheard of here.

Walid Maalouf, a banker who worked briefly as a diplomat while living in the United States, is running an independent campaign on a shoestring budget, barnstorming from town to town in his mountain district. He says most people in the villages tell him he is the only politician who bothers to visit them. They are grateful, but he does not offer cash or patronage, and they are unsure what to think of him.

Recently, Mr. Maalouf said, he was trying to explain to a village leader that he should think of candidates as employees, not patrons — someone they would hire to represent them effectively in the government.

“He looked at me,” Mr. Maalouf recalled, “and then he said, ‘Go back to America.’ ”

25/04/2009 US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made a surprise visit to Baghdad on Saturday, just nine weeks before US troops are due to withdraw from Iraqi cities and major towns.

Clinton landed in Baghdad around (0530 GMT) and said she would be analyzing the security situation after a wave of violence that has killed more than 250 people this month.

"I will be meeting of course with General Ray Odierno and I want to hear first hand his assessment," Clinton said, referring to the senior US army officer in Iraq and noting the deadly suicide attacks on Thursday and Friday.

"I want his evaluation of what these kinds of rejectionist efforts mean and what can be done to prevent them by both the Iraqi government and the US forces," she told

Comment

Nothing can be done, Mrs Clinton. The Empire is stuck in Iraq. While most of the people were asking: Who is next?? Iran?? Syria.. I said Pakistan is next. So, Mrs Clinton, you have two options :

Provide troops and funds for Pakistan Adveture.

Or

Withdraw from Iraq to Pakistan and Afghanistan, and leave the Puppet Regime in Iraq to face its destiny

Palestinian am I

I am the David child wielding a single stone Against the Israeli Goliath.

No one can take away from me
    My identity,
    For it is mine.
    Palestinian am I.

I am the river that flows
    Through my land.
    I am the mountain
    Noble and magnificent
Rising up out of chaos and destruction.

    I greet the morning sun
That shines down on my fertile valleys
    And parches my barren desert.

I am the red poppy and yellow daffodil
That grow upon my bloodstained hills.
I am the battle cry of freedom
    That echoes through my corridors
And every fibre of my being.

    Palestinian am I.
I am the proud owner of
    Orange orchards and lemon blossoms
And honey bees, wild and free.

I am the David child wielding a single stone
    Against the Israeli Goliath.
    I am not afraid,
For truth is with me and God is on my side.
    If I die,
A choir of angels will honour me
And later, my parents will grasp my outstretched hand
    And join me in Heaven.
    I am the tears of
Mothers weeping for their dead sons.
I am the footsteps of ancient prophets
Who foretold of doom and destruction
To those who torture and oppress me.

My brethren are the doves, hummingbirds and seagulls
That fly unhindered above my sea.
    I am Palestinian,
    Therefore, I am.

No one can take my identity
    Away from me,
Not tanks or guns or bombs
Meant to desecrate me and kill me.
    My country lives in me.

I am the cry of liberty
No matter what they take from me,
They can’t take away my identity
    Or my dignity.
    Palestinian am I.

Qassem: “They kept me in the company of criminals and murderers”

"This country is our country, this land is our land, Falastin (Palestine) is our homeland, we have no other homeland, and we shall remain faithful to our faith, values, history and the legacy of our forefathers."

Qassem: “They kept me in the company of criminals and murderers”

Just released from a PA lockup ostensibly in connection with his outspoken criticisms of the Palestinian Authority, Abdul Sattar Qassem has accused his incarcerators of mistreating and humiliating him.

“They kept me in the company of criminals and murderers all these days.”

Qassem was arrested by the Preventive Security Force (PSF) last week on what seemed to be fabricated libel charges filed against him by two members of PA security agencies.

Qassem, a former presidential candidate and Professor of Political Science at al-Najah University in Nablus in the northern West Bank, said he believed his detention was meant as a warning against criticizing the PA government and security apparatus.

He described his ordeal as a “self-defeating act” for the PA, saying that he would continue to call the spade a spade irrespective of intimidation from the security agencies.

“Freedom of speech and expression is a paramount issue over which there can be no compromise. Shielding this freedom from the forces of repression and despotism is a collective responsibility. If we tolerate violations of our human rights and civil liberties, then we will be jeopardizing our future as a people.”

Qassem strongly denied PA allegations that he had “besmirched the image” of certain PFC members during a television interview.

“I have been a victim of intimidation, assault and vandalism. I was always careful to submit a complaint against the perpetrators. However, instead of arresting the perpetrators and prosecuting them for their crimes, the PA authorities decided to arrest me. Isn’t that strange?”

Qassem spoke defiantly, saying that he wouldn’t be silenced.

“This country is our country, this land is our land, Falastin (Palestine) is our homeland, we have no other homeland, and we shall remain faithful to our faith, values, history and the legacy of our forefathers.”

PA political and security officials labeled Qassem’s arrest “criminal rather than political.” However, most observers in occupied Palestine are convinced that the arrest of Qassem, a well-known political intellectual, was motivated by a desire on the PA part to punish and intimidate political opponents.

The PA continues to detain dozens of political activists and journalists on suspicion of being associated or affiliated with the Hamas movement.

Last week the PA arrested journalist Mustafa Sabri from his home in the northern West Bank town of Qalqilya.

The arrests coincide with the resumption in Cairo of the Hamas-Fatah dialogue.

Sources in Cairo reported that the main stumbling block impeding a national reconciliation agreement lied in PA demands that Hamas recognize Israel and abandon resistance to the Israeli occupation.

Hamas refuses to recognize Israel as a matter of religious ideology.

This shows Palestine in 1945. You see that it's still overwhelmingly Palestinian.

This was despite years of brutal Zionist attacks on Palestinians, despite Zionist colonization efforts, and despite the Zionists' efforts to get the land any way they possibly could.
