Netanyahu: ‘UNHRC is anti-Israel’

On March 22 – the UN Human Rights Council voted to appoint a panel charged with evaluating the effects of illegal Jewish settlements on the civil, political, economic, social and cutural rights of native Muslim and Christian Palestinian in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. United States was the only country in the 47-member UNHRC which opposed the decision while ten members abstained.

The independent international fact-finding mission is to be appointed by the president of UNHRC. The decision also called on the Zionist regime “not to obstruct the process of investigation and cooperate fully with the mission“.

As expected, Israeli prime minister Benji Netanyahu, blasted the UNHRC, calling it a “hypocritical council with an automatic majority against Israel“. Bibi added that the council “should be ashamed of itself, and has nothing to do with the human rights“.

The Jerusalem Post has quoted Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Liberman as saying that he will recall Israeli ambassador to UNHRC and that Israel would not cooperate with the fact-finding mission.
Bush administration left the UNHRC due to its criticism of Washington’s blind support for Israel’s human rights violations against Palestinian. However, Barck Obama rejoined UNHRC in 2009 sensing America’s increasing isolation from the 115-member Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) nations which have supported unanimously approved Iran’s nuclear program as a NPT signatory.

The Jewish lobby groups and US lawmakers are furious over UNHRC’s decision. Anti-Iran Jewish Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), chairwomen of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said the “Obama administration’s efforts to turn the council more pro-Israel have failed“.

The Israel lobby group, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has urged Washington to leave the UNHRC. “This resolution makes a mockery of human rights by focusing its efforts on bullying Israel while completely ignoring serious humanitarian violations across the world,” the group said in a statement.

The PA and Syrian ambassadors accused the Zionist regime of occupying their ancestral lands (Palestine and Golan Heights).

Israel has been committing gross human rights violations on daily basis since the day it was established illegally in May 1948. It has killed thousands of babies, young kids, women and elderly people. Its Jewish soldiers have used Palestinians as human shields or hostages during raid on Palestinian houses. These human rights violations have been reported by UNHRC, Israeli Watchdog B’Tselem, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, NGOs, Russell Tribunal and even US State Department have been critical of Israeli policies toward its Jewish and non-Jewish minorities and land grab.
Israel has more than 6,500 Palestinian civilian prisoners including PA lawmakers and Hamas cabinet minister that its Jewish soldiers abducted or arrested from Gaza, the West Bank, Golan Heights and Lebanon.

Israel has refused to accept its human rights abuses reported by former US President Jimmy Carter and two internationally known Jewish academics, Judge Richard Goldstone and professor Richard Falk. The Israeli Hasbara goons ran such a vicious smearing campaigns against those three that they’re forced to apology to Jews for different personal reasons.

Rabbi: ‘Frankist Jews committed Holocaust’

Rabbi Wolf Gunther Plaut (born 1912), former president of Canadian Jewish Congress (CJC) and Chaief Rabbi at Toronto’s Holy Blossom Temple, died last month. In his 1990 book, ‘The Man Who Would Be Messiah‘, Plaut wrote that Frankist Jews were responsible for the Holocaust. The book’s ‘Forward’ was written by no other than Elie Weisel, the father of ‘holocaust culture’. Weisel did not disagree with Rabbi Plaut. The book is biography of Polish Rabbi Ya’akov Frank (1726-1791), who claimed being the biblical Messiah of Jews and thus part of Trinity.

Jerry Rabow in his book ’50 Jewish Messiahs’ has documented the stories of 50 Jewish men and women who claimed being the ‘Promised Messiah’ during their life. One of them even killed a Pope, while another was saved by a Pope by hidding him in Vatican during the Inquisition.

Frankist, also known as ‘Crypto-Jews’, are found in high places in both Christian and Muslim world – pretending to be Christians, Muslims, humanists, communists and atheists. Turkey has the highest population of ‘Crypto-Jews’ in the Muslim world. Some historians have claimed that these ‘Crypto-Jews’ were behind the Armenian genocide, in which nearly 1.5 million Christians were killed.

According to Rabbi Wolf Gunther Plaut, the Messiah Frank regarded Jews as a “barrier to the New World Order (NWO)”. Frank, in fact hated all three Abrahamic (Hebrew, Christianity and Islam) religions. However, in order to deceive the followers of those religions, Frankists subscribed to every religion and ideology (Communism, Nazism, Zionism, Capitalism and Socialism). Nazi Germany even commemorated Nazi-Zionism collaboration by minting a gold coin in honor of SS leader Baron Mildenstein’s visit to British Mandate Palestine in 1934.

Karl Marx in a letter to Baruch Levy wrote: “Jewish people as a whole will be its own Messiah. It will attain world domination by the dissolution of other races and by the establishment of a world rpublicin which everywhere the Jews will excercise the privilege of citizenship,” quoted to Review de Paris, June 1, 1928, page 574.

Canadian Jewish academic, Henry Makow PhD, wrote on March 21, 2012, that Sen. John Kerry who pretended he was an Irish Catholic, when in fact his father was a Frankist Jew (who worked for CIA) and his mother a Forbes. Henry also claimed that President Barack Obama’s mother may have been a Frankist/Illuminati Jewess. – and the English Rothschilds who marry non-Jews yet pretend to be Jews.
“Moreover, Churchill, FDR and Stalin were also Illuminati or Frankist Jews. So you can see how the Second World War could have been contrived partly to fulfill Frank’s goal of exterminating the Jewish people,” wrote Henry Makow.

Rabbi Wolf Gunther Plaut was born in Germany. He came to Toronto in 1961 after serving as a US Army Chaplain during the WW II and a rabbi in Chicago and St. Paul in the United States. He was rabbi at the Holy Blossom Temple on Bathurst St. until 1977. Plaut is author of 25 books.

One Family in Gaza by Jen Marlowe

One Family in Gaza from Jen Marlowe on Vimeo.

Just months after the Israeli assault that killed 1,390 Palestinians, I visited Gaza. Among dozens of painful stories I heard, one family stood out. I spent several days with Kamal and Wafaa Awajah, playing with their children, sleeping in the tent they were living in, and filming their story.

Wafaa described the execution of their son, Ibrahim. As she spoke, her children played on the rubble of their destroyed home. Kamal talked about struggling to help his kids heal from trauma.

What compelled me to tell the Awajah family's story? I was moved not only by their tragedy but by the love for their children in Wafaa and Kamal's every word.

Palestinians in Gaza are depicted either as violent terrorists or as helpless victims. The Awajah family challenges both portrayals. Through one family’s story, the larger tragedy of Gaza is exposed, and the courage and resilience of its people shines through.

We’re all anti-Semites now!

Paul EisenSolar, one of our commentators asks me to name one living anti-Semite. I’m happy enough to do this but before I do, I ask him what he means by the term.

Solar is reluctant to commit himself so, to help him along, I say what the term means to me.

For me, there seems two possible meanings. The first is someone who opposes all Jews simply because they’re Jews. The second is someone who opposes ‘Semitism’ – some kind of Jewish ideology, mindset or spirit.

The first is of course absurd. In all my life I’ve never come across anyone who opposed Jews just because they were Jews. Oh, I’m always running into people (more and more these days) who don’t seem to like Jews very much, but that’s always because of the way Jews think and behave, – more recently the way Jews behave towards Palestinians and the way other Jews behave to defend the way Jews behave towards Palestinians.

Anyway, the notion is implicitly absurd. I don’t like cauliflower, but not just because it’s cauliflower, but because it’s white, looks funny and smells of sick.

Trouble is, the situation becomes so much more complicated with the possibility that a Jew is a Jew only because he/she thinks and behaves like a Jew (I suppose a cauliflower is also only a cauliflower because it’s white, looks funny and smells of sick).

Still, anyway you look at it, people don’t much like the way Jews think and behave and my feeling is their not going to put up with it forever.

So what to do?

Well, one way is that Jews simply stop being Jews – just as Jesus, St Paul, Karl Marx, Israel Shamir and Gilad Atzmon have done. It is a solution but, for me, not a satisfactory one. A few years ago I went to observe Jewish Book Week in London. During one of the sessions, someone from the audience asked the distinguished panel whether they agreed that if our Royal Family were Jewish they would be slightly more amusing. The panel thought they would and so did I. It would be a pity if there were no Jews and for me, it would be a tragedy.

No, there’s a better solution. Jews should be Jews but they should try and contain themselves a bit more. Sure, there’ll be peaks and troughs in their behaviour just as there always has been, but perhaps the peaks could be a little less peakier and the troughs a little less troughier.

Because if they don’t, it’ll take me a lifetime to meet Solar’s challenge and name all the living anti-Semites and the day will surely come when you’ll all be singing, ”We’re all anti-Semites now!”

Feltman Visits Yemen, Qatar in 5-Day Tour

Local Editor

US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman The US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs heads to Sanaa on Sunday to meet senior government officials and activists amid a political transition after longtime ruler Ali Abdullah Saleh stepped down.

During his stay in the Yemeni capital, Jeffrey Feltman will "highlight the US commitment to Yemen's political transition as well as the need for the transition process to allow broad participation by the Yemeni people," the State Department said.

Feltman was due to meet with President Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi and other senior government officials, along with youth leaders, women activists and media representatives, it added in a statement.

Former dictator, Ali Abdullah Saleh, who ruled Yemen for 33 years, stepped down in February under a US-backed power transfer deal in return for immunity after nearly a year of mass street protests against his rule.

His deputy, Hadi, a UK-trained field marshal, replaced him on February 25 following a single-candidate presidential election backed by the United States and Saudi Arabia. Hadi will serve for an interim two-year-long period as stipulated by the power transfer deal until presidential elections to be held alongside new parliamentary polls in 2014.

Protests rage on across the country, with the public demanding the removal of the remnants of the former regime.

Following his stay in Yemen, Feltman is due to travel to the Qatari capital Doha on Wednesday and Thursday to meet with senior government officials.

"His meetings will cover the full range of bilateral and regional issues," the State Department said.

A new world order is born in Syria

"A new world with two or more poles would emerge from the Syrian womb" -Dr. Amin Huttate
Assad Defies Expectations, His days are not numbered, May Hold Out for Years, so, now, his years are numbered.

"A new world order is born in Syria" admitted Rami Khour of Pro-west Daily Star. Its first target is nothing but "to end a conflict, protect civilians, and instigate democratic political reforms within a sovereign country in a manner that is at once legitimate, credible and effective." but "The chance of this package being accepted or implemented by the Syrian government is virtually zero" by the old world order not yet reached, the west will keep trying to convince Russia and China to sell out Syria.

Rami ignoing the results of that Syrians Overwhelmingly Approved The New Constitution, the western polls on Assad's popularity, has "no doubt that the Assad era is on its last legs and will soon end after 43 years of one-party, one-family rule – joining a wave of similar regime changes across the region that are driven primarily by the will of the citizenry to end similarly degrading power structures and governance systems." Therefore, "Assad and his family may soon discover that their only two options are the fate of the murdered Moammar Gadhafi of Libya or the retired and perhaps exiled Ali Abdullah Saleh of Yemen."
I wonder what new world order Rami is talking about???

A new world order is born in Syria
The Daily Star
March 24, 2012 01:25 AM By Rami G. KhouriThe Daily Star

What happens in Syria is important for reasons that go far beyond the borders of Syria. In the past three decades, the world has awkwardly navigated the “post-Cold War” era, the short-lived American-dominated “unipolar world,” the ugly “global war on terror.” the emergence of the BRICs (Brazil, Russia, India, China), and the unresolved debate on the “responsibility to protect” civilians who are mistreated grossly by their own governments or fellow citizens.

We may be witnessing in Syria the first example of a new global diplomatic process to end a conflict, protect civilians, and instigate democratic political reforms within a sovereign country in a manner that is at once legitimate, credible and effective.

In the past three months, a variety of countries – Arab and foreign, big and small, friends and foes of Syria – have all performed an ever-evolving diplomatic dance that last week generated a United Nations Security Council statement on Syria that is important for three reasons: It is unanimously supported by all council members, including Russia and China, who had vetoed earlier resolutions critical of Syria’s leadership; it waters down the earlier Arab League that explicitly called for President Bashar Assad to step aside; it seeks instead to halt the violence and open the way for an unspecified process of dialogue and reform leading to a democratic transition that may one day result in a new regime in Syria.

The two previous possible templates for addressing the Syrian situation – the Libyan intervention and war by NATO, and the unilateral Arab and Western demands that Assad step aside and make way for a democratic transition in the country – have both proved undesirable or unfeasible for certain key actors, primarily Russia. The past month has shown that if Russia and China decide to oppose the American-led camp, the situation will remain diplomatically frozen.

The Security Council statement fully supported the peacemaking efforts of U.N.-Arab League special envoy Kofi Annan, and called on the Syrian government and the opposition “to work in good faith with the envoy towards a peaceful settlement of the Syrian crisis,” and to fully implement his six-point proposal. This proposal calls for a “daily 2-hour humanitarian pause” in fighting, allowing humanitarian aid agencies access to all areas in need, and committing to working with “an inclusive Syrian-led political process to address the legitimate aspirations and concerns of the Syrian people.”

The Security Council also calls on the Syrian government to “immediately cease troop movements towards, and end the use of heavy weapons in, population centers, and begin pullback of military concentrations in and around population centers.” It also calls for the release of all detainees, and for allowing foreign journalists to report freely inside the country.

The chance of this package being accepted or implemented by the Syrian government is virtually zero, because it knows very well that if it pulls back its military and stops attacking its own civilians in urban centers, hundreds of thousands of people will take to the streets in peaceful demonstrations against the regime. The important point is that the key global actors have agreed on this approach, to open the door to a peaceful process of political transformation by which Syrians nonviolently and democratically change their regime and install a more democratic system of governance.

A key element in this approach is that President Bashar Assad and his family who run the country will remain in power for now, and are the key party with whom the opposition negotiates. This is understandably distasteful to the opposition, given the extreme cruelty and near barbarism that the regime’s military forces have used against unarmed Syrian civilians for the most part.

Yet if the continued economic and other pressures on Syria make the situation unbearable for the regime (including cutting off travel links and indicting officials in international courts), the Annan plan approach, supported by Russia, may be the only option the regime has. Assad and his family may soon discover that their only two options are the fate of the murdered Moammar Gadhafi of Libya or the retired and perhaps exiled Ali Abdullah Saleh of Yemen.

There is no doubt that the Assad era is on its last legs and will soon end after 43 years of one-party, one-family rule – joining a wave of similar regime changes across the region that are driven primarily by the will of the citizenry to end similarly degrading power structures and governance systems.

The Assad regime’s ability to hide behind its own sovereignty is now exhausted. This week the world has started to craft a legitimate diplomatic mechanism that shatters the shield of this abused sovereignty, and demands certain actions that improve conditions inside Syria, and perhaps provide a slow-motion means of changing the regime for the better over a period of months or years.

The diplomatic dance continues, seeking to resolve the Syria crisis, but also to craft a new international diplomatic order.

Palestinians Denied Essentials to Life

by Stephen Lendman

My PhotoBesides persecution, repression, and injustice, deprivation defines life in Occupied Palestine. Essentials fall way below minimum standards.

Shortages and crises affect water, sanitation, electricity, fuel, and vital healthcare when most needed.

On March 14, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) headlined, “Occupied Lives: Switching off hospitals,” saying:

Gaza’s hospitals, including al-Shifa (Gaza’s largest medical complex), “fac(e) severe difficulties in providing basis services….” As a result, the right to health and life are undermined. “Such problems have been a consistent feature of life in the Gaza Strip since the current closure was imposed in 2007.”
Unreliable supply and high cost got Gaza to stop importing Israeli industrial fuel. Gaza’s tunnel economy coped best it could. On February 14, Egypt curtailed supplies. As a result, a power crisis followed.

Without enough fuel, Gaza’s power plant can’t operate properly. Vital services can’t function. Drinking water, health and sanitation facilities are affected.

In mid-February, the Gaza Electricity Distribution Company shut down. Around two-thirds of Gaza was affected. Citing unprecedented challenges, the company said severe complications restricted daily electricity distribution to six hours daily, followed by 18 hour outages.

Gaza’s Health Ministry declared a state of emergency. Hospital generators lack enough fuel to operate properly. Patient lives and well-being are jeopardized. During days of Israeli bombing, doctors struggled to cope with treating wounded patients.

Health Ministry official Bassam Barhoum said:

“The patients most at risk are those in the intensive care unit, the babies in the nurseries, kidney dialysis patients and those in need of surgery. Thank God, no patients have died until now.”
“However, we face other types of losses due to the electricity crisis. In the past two weeks generators of 6 basic health clinics across the Gaza Strip broke. They are simply not built to operate for the amount of time we need them.”

“Generators are made for brief emergencies, of a few hours, only. Besides that, our generators and other machines are damaged and broken by the power being cut and returning constantly. Also, the fluctuation in power levels is harmful to our equipment. Now we lack the spare parts and oils to maintain the machines.”

Al-Shifa Hospital’s Deputy Director of the Intensive Care Unit, Kamal Abu Obada, deals daily with these problems. “For me as a doctor,” he said, “this is all very depressing. All the time I’m working to keep the patients alive and when the electricity is cut they are all at risk. If something happens to them, my efforts were all in vain.”

During emergency periods, surgeries are suspended except for emergencies. Air-conditioning or heating in winter are cut. Water purification and laundry services are limited. Hygiene and sanitation crises result.

According to Abu Obada:

“During the state of emergency everything stops. We are not able to send our patients for surgery, unless it is absolutely necessary. We have to suspend other forms of treatment as well as tests and diagnostics.”

“The moment the electricity is cut, we rush to the patients and provide them with oxygen manually using oxygen bags. But we face two problems in doing this. Firstly, we simply don’t have enough manpower to attend to all the patients during the cuts.”

“Also, it is difficult to control the quantity of oxygen manually, risking ruptures in the lungs when squeezing too much air out of the bag into the patient’s lungs. When the power comes back we have to reprogram all the machines again.”

“When there is a power cut, the heart and blood pressure monitors switch off. The internal sensors inside our machines are broken by the cuts which causes the alarms to go off unnecessarily and then for them to fail to kick in when something is wrong with the patient.”

“Some of our patients are awake and are aware of the power cuts when they occur. These patients can hear us in those moments and fear for their own lives and those of the other(s).”

Abu Obada, Bassam Barhoum, and others explain daily siege-caused problems. As a result, lives are lost. Needless suffering occurs. Israeli denial of essential to life constitutes crimes against humanity.
Palestinians Denied Water on their Own Land

Vandana Shiva calls water nature’s gift, essential to life, limited and exhaustible, vital to conserve, and a commons for everyone off-limits to commodify.

Not according to corporate profiteers and Israel. Commissioned by OCHA (Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) a new UN report headlined, “Seizure of springs by settlers greatly limits Palestinian access to water,” saying:

Settlers lawlessly seized dozens of springs in Israeli-controlled Area C. It comprises over 60% of the West Bank. Palestinians are denied access to their own water. Intimidation and threats confront them if they try.

An Israeli Civil Administration spokesman dismissively said Palestinians should lodge complaints if they’re denied access or violently treated. Previous attempts fell on deaf ears.

The UN report said most springs are on private Palestinian land. Israel and settlers work together stealing them. It’s done several ways, including designating sites tourist areas, erecting physical barriers, and annexing areas lawlessly.

Palestinians can’t access their own land for agriculture, drinking water, or other domestic consumption. According to the Matah Binyamin Regional Council for 42 settlements:

“For some years now the council is active in developing, restoring and preserving natural and heritage sites. As part of this process several murky springs were transformed into accessible sites for the public.”

“In some cases, an irrigation system was built for livestock. The springs are now active tourist sites serving both Palestinians and Jews … after dozens of years of neglect.”

Israel’s Civil Administration said:

“Any building activity in Area C, including the restoration of sites, including springs, necessitates building permits. In contradiction to the report, we have recently conducted enforcement activities against such illegal construction at springs near Elon Moreh and Har Brakha.”

“Everyone has the right to approach springs in public areas. If access to any individual is being denied by any person, that individual should submit a complaint to the police.”

Palestinians trying it attest to its futility. Settlers get carte blanche to do what they please, including stealing what’s essential to life. Palestinians in one community said soldiers prevent them from entering areas, except for a few days a year to harvest olives.

OCHA called spring seizures an extension of settlement activity and expansions. They include “trespass, intimidation and physical assault, stealing of private property, and construction without a building permit.” It’s encouraged for Jews. Palestinians are denied on their own land.
“Yet, the Israel authorities have systematically failed to enforce the law on those responsible for these acts and to provide Palestinians with any effective remedy.”

OCHA called on Israel to “restore Palestinian access to the water springs taken over by settlers.” It also urged “effective investigations into cases of settler violence and trespass.”

Much more than urging’s needed. Measures with teeth are essential. In 45 years of occupation, Israel defied international law, ignored dozens of UN resolutions, and did whatever it wished with impunity. Nothing in OCHA’s report changes things. Palestinians remain on their own to cope.

A Final Comment

Palestinians are abused many other ways. On March 22, Russia Today updated a week earlier report headlined, “Israel targets Palestinian solar panels in bid for West Bank dominance,” saying:
If Israel proceeds with current demolition orders, hundreds of Palestinians will lose electricity. Many call it “an attempt to drive (them) out of the Israeli-controlled part of the territory” to facilitate stealing it.

According to Imenizil village head Ali Mohamed Ihrizat:

“We are suspended between heaven and earth. The solar panels were a glimmer of hope for us.”
International charities provided them. Israel says they were built without permits. No matter. They’re on private Palestinian land. In Israeli controlled Area C, Jews freely expand existing settlements and construct new ones.

In contrast, Palestinians face intolerable hurdles to build on their own land. Over 90% of permit requests are denied. In the past decade alone, around 2,000 Palestinian structures were demolished, including private residences.

Meanwhile, Israel provides settlements with water, electricity, and other essential services. Palestinians must rely on wells, generators, and other ways to cope. According to Peace Now:
“The denial of permits for Palestinians on such a large scale raises the fear that there is a specific policy by the authorities to encourage a ‘silent transfer’ of the Palestinian population from Area C” to assure Jews get all valued parts.

Solar panels were donated to make up for what Israel denies. NGOs built dozens for 1,500 or more Palestinians. Each one costs tens of thousands of dollars.

An unnamed UN source said:
“From December 2010 to April 2011, we saw a systematic targeting of the water infrastructure in Hebron, Bethlehem and the Jordan valley.”

“Now, in the last couple of months, they are targeting electricity. Two villages in the area have had their electrical poles demolished. There is this systematic effort by the civil administration targeting all Palestinian infrastructure in Hebron.”

Despite a Rabbis for Human Rights legal challenge temporarily freezing demolition orders, nothing’s planned to cancel them. Israeli NGO head Noam Dotan involved in installing panels calls Israel’s plan immoral and self-defeating.

“The panels are not a security threat,” he said. They represent “a positive project. What do they want? Do they want the people to be more poor? To be more violent?”

Indeed, to call them terrorists and drive as many off their land as possible. That’s how police states operate. As a result, millions of Palestinians suffer unjustly.

Only Jews have rights. Palestinians struggle for justice on their own, even to obtain essentials to life and survive.

New Syrian TV Footage Exposes CNN Falsification and Coordination with Terrorists in Homs

Mar 23, 2012

DAMASCUS, (SANA)- The Syrian TV screened a footage showing more aspects of falsification and fabrication of facts practiced by Arab and Western satellite channels as part of the media war launched against Syria.

The footage broadcast on Thursday, which filmed the process of sabotaging an oil transfer pipeline in al-Sulaymanieh region in Homs countryside by armed terrorist groups, revealed that the camera operators were CNN correspondents who entered Syria illegally through the Lebanese borders and seemed to have coordinated with the saboteurs to film a video of the attack and send it to their channel.

Heard on the footage were the voices of CNN security affairs photographer Tim Crockett and correspondent Arwa Damon asking photojournalist Neil Hallsworth if he was ok as he felt suffocated by the smoke from the attack on the oil pipeline and if he needed to see a doctor.

While Damon was reporting live on the CNN that claimed that the Syrian army was behind the attack to deflect suspicion of any coordination, if not to say involvement, with the terrorist saboteurs, the same footage- proved by comparisons highlighted by the Syrian TV, was then screened live from the same camera which seemed to have been set up a day before the attack in a place where the attack can be filmed.

A similar comparison had previously been made between a report by another CNN correspondent Danny Dayem who claimed that al-Khalidiyeh region in Homs was being bombarded and a footage of Danny showing how he was coordinating sound effects of shooting and shelling with his team to attack to his reporting.

Faced with criticisms by several U.S. TV channels, newspapers and websites over its correspondent's fabrication, the CNN was forced to conduct an interview with Danny claiming he was an activist and not one of its staff and to obliterate a photo of him taken along with the channel's team of correspondents in Homs.

Kandahar and Toulouse: A Tale of Two Cities

Kandahar and Toulouse: A Tale of Two Cities
Kandahar
Kandahar Afghanistan

‘Western civilization? I think it would be a good idea.’ Mahatma Gandhi
The US army staff sergeant Robert Bales, who shot dead Afghani civilians on their home two weeks ago, has now been formally charged with 17 counts of murder. Aside from the heartbreaking tragedy of this incident, it’s clear that, in the West, the prototype of the ‘lone wolf solder’ has some advantageous side effects. He plants a false discrepancy between murder that is permissible, and murder that is a violation of our collective moral code.

We in the West slaughter innocent men, women and children en masse – but we prefer to do it remotely, ‘humanely’, from a palatable distance. We kill without looking into the faces of our victims. We kill with regret, not pride. We do not own our actions. Yet this gap between authorised violence and renegade barbarism is imaginary. From the victim’s perspective there cannot be a significant difference between being executed by a robotic drone or blown up by one American solder. It is estimated that at least 40,000 civilians have so far been killed in Afghanistan since 2001. Add to that the 36,000 members of the Taliban, the 14,000 Northern Alliance and the 10,000 members of the Afghan Security Forces, and the figure is shockingly high. As painful as it may be to admit, Robert Bale’s murder of 17 Muslim peasants was totally consistent with the very ideology that planted him on Afghani soil in the first place. The decorated American father of three was not transgressing the ideology that his uniform represents. He was merely seeing it through. For us to imagine otherwise is a subtle form of self-congratulation, implying that we live in an ethical culture temporarily punctured by the arbitrary whims of a mad man. This is not the case.

Meanwhile, the case of the Algerian French ‘lone wolf’ of Toulouse, who gunned down seven civilians in France last week, highlights the embarrassing disparity between the way in which the actions of individuals are interpreted as being indicative of the collective from which they hail. When a Muslim commits an atrocity, his actions are understood to represent the values maintained in his culture.

American Robert Bales is an isolated maniac with anger management issues, but Mohamed Merah is acting on behalf of ‘a group’. We may not know who the group is (so far alleged links include al-Qaeda, ‘The Knights of Pride,’ Syrian extremists and Salafism in general), but it’s definitely ‘a group’. It’s inconceivable that it could just be him.

Regardless of what the truth of the matter may be, it’s clear that when it comes to appropriating the Enlightenment notion of ‘the sovereign individual’, we are conspicuously selective. We do it only when it suits us. This applies to the victims in France as well as the perpetrator. The death of the first two (Muslim) men shot dead on 11 and 15 March did not qualify as headline news in the global media until they became an appendix to the harrowing murder of a Rabbi and his sons.

Hence the very concept of ‘war crimes’ appears to be a western luxury. The My Lai Massacre committed by troops in Vietnam, the Haditha massacre of Iraq, the killings in Sabra and Shatila, the bombing of United Nations shelters in Gaza, were all understood as aberrations. In order to reconcile ourselves with this endlessly unfolding catalogue of carnage and abuse, we enjoy the prototype of the young, vulnerable, undereducated solder who just got slightly over excited by the chauvinist revenge rhetoric inherent in their training. Lynndie England, of ‘Human Pyramid’ fame, for example, is often described as a ‘poor, brain-washed, trailer-park dimwit’ rather than an ordinary American patriot enjoying her moment of Schadenfreude.

Perhaps its time that we ponder on the clue loaded in the often-used phrase describing this phenomenon: ‘the lone wolf’. In the animal kingdom and in war, the lone wolf’s singularity is shaped by his essentialist nature as a pack animal. It is because of the pack, not in spite of the pack, that he strikes out alone.

Israel is Startin' to Make the Nazis Look Like Choir Boys!

Hey There Jewish People!

It’s me, your ole’ pal Buddy the Goy comin’atcha from Mudflap Junction deep here in the heart of Goyland once again! Say, Jewish people, me and all the rest of the folks here has all been keepin’ up with the news ‘bout Miss Hana Shalabi, that young Palestinian woman who’s been on a hunger strike for something like thirty-seven, thirty-eight days now, and that’s what I wanted to talk atcha about today. Ya see, all of us here in Mudflap Junction—we’s all real concerned ‘bout how she’s being treated! We all remember hearin’ of course how she wuz strip searched by a male soldier when she wuz locked up back in February, and that was bad enough, but now there’s a new report out that’s got us even more concerned.

It seems that on March 19 young Hana was being transferred from one detention facility in Israel to another when she was “grossly mistreated,” including by being “dragged across the floor” by one of her captors. Now think about that for a moment, Jewish people. This young woman started her hunger strike on February 16. That means that by March 19 she’d been 32 days without food! What do you reckon’s the matter with your tribal cousins over there that they’d do a thing like that—take somebody that ain’t had nuthin’ to eat for 32 days and drag’em across a floor? Imagine how weak she must have been! How could anybody treat another human being that way? Also it sounds like the torment isn’t only physical; apparently there’s some psychological abuse as well, including verbally browbeating her, lying to her, and psychologically manipulating her—all with the aim of getting her to end her hunger strike.

Of course, young Hana is being held in “administrative detention”, which means she ain’t even been charged with no crime, let alone convicted of anything! Can you imagine that, Jewish people? What does that say about your “only democracy in the Middle East”?

In this latest story on Hana, it’s also reported that her desire at this point is either for freedom or death. It kinda reminds us of Patrick Henry, who said, “Give me liberty, or give me death!” Young Hana Shalabi seems to be cut very much out of the same cloth as this famous American! Here’s what Stephen Lendman, the writer who wrote the article, says:

Like thousands of other wrongfully imprisoned Palestinians, Hana’s denied all rights, including due process and judicial fairness. They’re also subjected to torture, inhuman and degrading treatment. It’s official Israeli policy. Fundamental international law is routinely spurned.

In Hana’s case, she’s denied her right to live. She wants freedom or death. Her lawyer, Jawad Boulos, quoted her saying:

“It’s true our lives are very precious, but our freedom is even more precious and more powerful than their cells.”

In other words, like Patrick Henry, Hana essentially is saying, Give me my freedom or give me death!

But apparently her jailers would like to deny her both. Lendman goes on to inform us that threats have been issued to begin force-feeding her. So in other words—first they arrest her without cause, then they conduct an indecent strip search, then they go and drag her across a floor, now they’re talking ‘bout forcin’ a tube into her esophagus and pumping food down into it. Say what you will about us stupid, worthless Goyim, but we don’t treat ladies that way here in Mudflap Junction!

Yeah…I gotta tell ya this, Jewish people, and I know it’s gonna offend ya, but those tribal cousins of yours over there in Israel are startin’ to make the Nazis look like choir boys! So me and some of the other folks here got together last night and talked it over, and we came up with the following demand:

Free Hana Shalabi!

That’s right! Free her! Open up the gal-dang prison door and let her out! What the hell did she ever do to you? Thirty-seven-plus days without food????? I mean, this has gotta be one of the most courageous, determined, steadfast young women in the world!

“It’s true our lives are very precious, but our freedom is even more precious and more powerful than their cells.”

Selfless determination! This is the best the human species has to offer! This young woman is fighting her oppressors with the only weapons she has—her body and her mind. And they’re talking about stickin’ a tube down her throat and gaggin’ her with a bunch of stinking prison food? I mean, Jesus H. Christ, Jewish people! How low can these tribal cousins of yours go????? Why is it they can never seem to fathom what it means to respect people’s humanity?????

So yeah, as I say, we are demandin’ Hana’s freedom, but beyond that we got a few other choice demands as well, ten in all. Are y’all ready? This is from all us folks here in Mudflap Junction—

top ten things we’d like to express
to anyone who has anything to do with running
or maintaining the brutal prison system in Israel:

And here they are, folks—in order:

10. Go jump out of an airplane without a parachute

9. Stick your nose in a paper shredder

8. Take all of your racist rabbis and pour candle wax into their beards

7. Tell “Jonah” to crawl back up the whale’s ass

[That last’un ‘uz from an ole boy named Billy who lives up on Whippoorwill Hill. Billy drinks a lot and has a tendency to get a bit crude at times, but we all thought we’d throw his suggestion in the pot anyhow!]

6. Go to a circus and stick your penis under the elephant’s foot

[Another ‘un from Billy]

5. Adopt the words “that shitty little country” as your national motto

4. Redesign your star of David to include a picture of the devil in the center

3. Squeeze a whole tube of toothpaste out into your hand and smear it all over your face

[That ‘un wuz from a lovely little thing named Amber-June. My ole pal Clyde who lives half a mile down the road a ways has been thinkin’ of asking Amber-June to marry him. I ain’t rightly sure what she’ll say, though. She’s had a whole bunch of offers already and so far turned down every single one of’em! I’ll try and keep ya posted, though. If Clyde ever makes it to first base with Amber-June we’ll let’cha know!]

2. “Amaze” the world with your Jewish ingenuity by showing us all how you can cut your toenails with a chainsaw

[And finally…here it is, folks! The number one thing we, the Goyim here in Mudflap Junction, would like to say to all the Jews in Israel who have anything to do with mistreatin’ anybody or lockin’ folks up without cause:]

1. Pick out your next new “anointed” messiah and pour a quart of motor oil over his head!

***

Well that’s it—our top 10! Hope ever’one out there was able to derive some inspiration from it. And finally one other thing…just a little note from all of us here in Mudflap Junction to Miss Hana Shalabi: We’re all thinkin’ about ya, darlin’, and we’ll all be a-prayin’ for ya in church this Sunday (even Billy, that is if he makes it to church after gettin' tanked on Saturday night!).

Best wishes,

Buddy the Goy
