It was Barack Obama (is it any wonder?) who found the right words: "No nation is perfect. But one of the strengths that makes America exceptional is our willingness to openly confront our past, face our imperfections, make changes and do better."
 
It was the incomparable New York Times which had the most merciless editorial: "It is hard to believe that anything will be done now. ... Maybe George Tenet, who ran the CIA during this ignoble period, could make a tiny amends by returning the Presidential Medal of Freedom that President Bush gave him upon his retirement" [video, third from top, right].
 
It was the U.S. Department of Justice that had to disgrace itself by acting the hypocrite: the case will remain closed for "the admissible evidence would not be sufficient."
 
And yet … in 577 dense pages, accompanied by 2,725 footnotes summarizing a text of more than 6,700 pages, a Senate report - a bill of indictment rather than the findings of an investigation - a mirror is placed under the nose of Uncle Sam which seems to say: look at what you are: liar, charlatan, sometime criminal, arrogant, domineering, violent, pretentious, death-merchant, unworthy preacher. In the end, no more and no less virtuous than any other country: human, all too human.
 
For isn't that the way to read this indictment against the war on terror, a pretext of which authorizes, or rather requires, the post-9/11 Republican administration to resort to every weapon, even the most reprehensible of all, torture? It was believed that that everything, or almost everything, had already been said in a book published in 1958 [La Question, about French torture in the Algerian Civil War] Well no! Here is a new version that has been served to us, with special American sauce this time, with a mass of detail that would make jealous the Marquis de Sade, including simulated executions, sleep deprivation, Russian roulette, sexual abuse, threats, rectal forced-feeding, death from hypothermia …
 
One is almost tempted to beg for the mercy of public opinion if such remedies had produced some results. In fact, all that the Central Intelligence Agency has managed to achieve, talking only of the Middle East, is the return of an al-Qaeda hardened by years of trial, the hatching of a Daesh [Islamic State] which we haven't heard the last of, the re-destabilization of Afghanistan - pending the same or even worse for Pakistan - and almost everywhere an anti-Americanism at its zenith now shining with every ray. At no time, the report's authors maintain, has it been established that these techniques prevented a single terrorist act; any feeble coerced confessions were always obtained prior to the use of torture.
 
It must be recognized that these strong-arm tactics bore one benefit: they allowed their two godfathers to build up quite a gold mine. Indeed, Drs. James Mitchell and Bruce Jensen [video below], psychiatrists of the state, based on estimates, were royally paid: $1,800 per day (!). The business was so juicy that they started their own company charged with taking the baton from the CIA, which had to pay out to them the tidy sum of $81 million, in addition to $1 million to protect its offspring from eventual prosecution.

The Senate's condemnation remains to date the most severe since the scandal denounced by the 1970's Church Committee, named after the Idaho senator who went to war against the House of Spies Inc. for espionage, failed assassination attempts and administering LSD to uncooperative detainees. When one considers that, in a report submitted to Congress in 1989, the CIA denounced some "inhumane" techniques as being "counter-productive," it is clear that since then, it has had at its disposal a new Perfect Torturer's Handbook - an updated 21st century edition - which also takes account of the financial demands of modern times. An example: On November 20, 2002, for having caused a death from hypothermia - of Afghan terrorist Gul Rahman, the officer in charge of the interrogation was condemned to … receive a check for $2,500 for a task performed to perfection.

Congress Approves Plan to Train Syrian Armed Groups

Congress overwhelmingly passed a new military spending bill that will allow the Pentagon to carry out its budding plan to arm and train armed groups in Syria as part of the military campaign against the "ISIL" militants.
Additionally, the bill allocates a total of $577 billion for overall military spending - a number that includes $64 billion in funding for overseas war ventures in countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria. Also included is a one percent pay rise for military troops.

Senators passed the bill, which establishes military spending levels for fiscal year 2015, by a vote of 89-11. Since the House of Representatives passed the same measure last week, it now heads to President Barack Obama for his signature.

One of the most significant portions of the bill is a two-year authorization for the training of armed groups in Syria, with the United States hoping they can become capable enough to combat the "ISIL" fighters within the country. 

Training won't be limited to Syrian armed groups, though, as the military bill approves of further training to Iraqi and Kurdish forces.

"American air power had changed the momentum on the ground somewhat and given moderates in the region an opportunity to regroup, but "ISIL" cannot be defeated without an opposing force to take the fight to it on the ground," Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.), chairman of the Armed Services Committee.

The Pentagon said in September that it may need to train up to 15,000 to effectively fight "ISIL".

Evidence of US creation of ISIS can’t be any clearer

The US involvement in creating the terrorist organization of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has been further exposed in a report published by The Guardian newspaper a two days ago.
The report revealed that most of the terrorist organization’s today leaders, not least Abu Bakr al- Baghdadi, were of the US’s making a decade ago.
Bucca prison-ISIS-BaghdadiAn ISIS leader, formerly jailed in Bucca, a prison established by the US forces in southern Iraq upon their invasion in 2003, said most of ISIS leaders arising today were inmates in the same prison.
Abu Ahmad entered the US-run Camp Bucca prison as a young man a decade ago, and is now “a senior official” within ISIS, having risen through its ranks with many of the men who served time alongside him in prison, according to The Guardian.
“If there was no American prison in Iraq, there would be no IS now. Bucca was a factory. It made us all. It built our ideology,” he told the British newspaper, relating the details about how he and other detainees had been snatched by US soldiers from Iraq’s towns and cities to the infamous prison.
“Here, we were not only safe, but we were only a few hundred meters away from the entire al-Qaida leadership,” Abu Ahmad said. “We had so much time to sit and plan…It was the perfect environment. We all agreed to get together when we got out,” he continued.
Abu Ahmad noted that by 2009, many of his fellow prisoners who had got out “were back doing what we did before we were caught. But this time we were doing it better.”
And clearly from the report, it was not by chance al-Baghdadi became, or more accurately was made to become, ISIS’s chief leader.
Abu Ahmad met al-Baghdadi for the first time in Bucca, speaking of him as having been receiving
privileged treatment by the US forces.
“He was respected very much by the US army,” Abu Ahmed said. “If he wanted to visit people in another camp he could, but we couldn’t.”
This “respect” had soon led to the emergence of the most dangerous terrorist group of today that has recently come to hold sway over large parts of northern Syria and Iraq, and which is keeping the whole world on edge.
By December 2004, Baghdadi, The Guardian said, was “deemed by his jailers to pose no further risk and his release was authorised.”
“And all the while, a new strategy, which [Baghdadi] was leading, was rising under their noses, and that was to build the Islamic State [also known as ISIS],” said Abu Ahmad.
The Guardian cited Hisham al-Hashimi, an analyst based in Baghdad, as highlighting that the Iraqi government estimates that 17 of the 25 most important ISIS leaders running the war in Iraq and Syria spent time in US prisons between 2004 and 2011.
In further evidence to the US’s creation of ISIS, the American newspaper Washington Post published a detailed report last month unmasking who the U.S. army had gathered and mobilized hundreds of takfiri extremist elements at Bucca prison, who were released by 2009, upon the beginning of the U.S. pullout from Iraq, obviously more radicalized and quite ready to act upon their
dangerously extremist ideology.

Israel’s Secret Plan for a «Second Israel» in Ukraine

The Times of Israel, an independent Israeli newspaper that counts among its staff a number of former reporters for the Israeli daily Ha’aretz, published a fascinating but largely overlooked story datelined Jerusalem and Zhitomir, Ukraine, March 16, 2014, and which was written by its respective Russian and Ukrainian correspondents, Hirsh Ostropoler and I. Z. Grosser-Spass, citing a secret report provided to the Israeli government. The report, written by a select panel of scholars of Jewish history drawn from academia and other research centers, concluded that that European Jews are in fact descended from Khazars, a war-like Mongol-Tatar group that ruled over Ukraine and southern Russia, which mass-converted to Judaism in the eighth century AD. 

Zionists have long argued that the land claimed by Israel was the biblical birthright of the Jewish people who were forced from the land in a so-called «diaspora» after repeated conquests by various empires. Proof that Ashkenazi Jews, which make up a majority of the Israeli Jewish population, have no historical link to Palestine would call into question the entire premise of Israel as the historical «5,000-year old» homeland of the Jewish people.

The Israeli journalists noted that any conversation of the Khazars and modern Israel has always been met with disdain by Israeli leaders. They quote Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir as once saying, «Khazar, Schmazar. There is no Khazar people. I knew no Khazars. In Kiev. Or Milwaukee. Show me these Khazars of whom you speak». DNA proof that a migratory Khazar population from Europe is now claiming ancient roots in Palestine largely eliminates Zionist claims to the region. 

The evidence that eastern and central European Jews have no historical claim to Palestine has resulted in a flurry of activity in Israel and abroad. The Israeli Knesset will soon vote on a bill passed by the Israeli Cabinet that legalizes Israel as a Jewish «national state». Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who read the secret report on the Khazars, has declared that «Israel is the Jewish, nationalist state for the Jewish people». With the Ashkenazi claims to Israel tenuous, at best, Netanyahu, his Likud Party, and his Jewish Orthodox and West Bank settler party allies have no other choice but to aggressively stake their nationalist claims to not only Israel but also to the West Bank – which the nationalists refer to as «Judea and Samaria».
However, some Israelis and Jews abroad are not taking any chances. One of the main reasons why Ukrainian Jewish billionaire tycoon Ihor Kolomoisky, the governor of Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk province and citizen of Ukraine, Israel, and Cyprus, is spending tens of millions of dollars on the recruitment of right-wing Ukrainian nationalists and neo-Nazis from other parts of Europe to fight against the Russian-speaking majority in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine, is a fear that plans to turn Ukraine into a «second Israel» will be derailed. Russia’s protective measures for the Donbass, as well as its incorporation by referendum of Crimea, the latter prized by the resurgent Khazarian Jewish nationalists, threaten the transformation of Ukraine into a second homeland for Ashkenazi Jews who are finding their hold on Israel prime tenuous, at best. 

The Times of Israel’s explosive story about the Khazarian roots of the Ashkenazis also revealed that Israel, knowing that a Palestinian state is inevitable considering the increasing pressure for it from Europe, is preparing to resettle Ashkenazi settlers in the West Bank to Ukraine. Israel’s advanced research in genetics resulted in a direct DNA line being established between Israel’s Ashkenazis and the Khazars who were dispersed across eastern and central Europe after Russia conquered the Khazarian Empire in the 11th century. 


Israelis and their Zionist allies around the world have always accused proponents of the Khazarian-Ashkenazi genetic connection of deep-rooted anti-Semitism. However, the genetic research contained in the secret Israeli report confirms what Israeli historian Shlomo Sand revealed in his book, «The Invention of the Jewish People». The concept of the Khazarian bloodline was first broached by Hungarian historian Arthur Koestler in his 1976 «The Thirteenth Tribe».

The Times of Israel reporters quoted an unnamed aide to Netanyahu who revealed the plans for Israeli emigration to Ukraine: «We first thought that admitting we are really Khazars was one way to get around [Palestinian President Mahmoud] Abbas’s insistence that no Jew can remain in a Palestinian state. Maybe we were grasping at straws. But when he refused to accept that, it forced us to think about more creative solutions. The Ukrainian invitation for the Jews to return was a godsend. Relocating all the settlers within Israel in a short time would be difficult for reasons of logistics and economics. We certainly don’t want another fashlan like the expulsion of the settlers in the Gaza Hitnatkut[disengagement]».

Ostropoler and Grosser-Spass also quoted an anonymous Israeli intelligence source as saying: «We’re not talking about all the Ashkenazi Jews going back to Ukraine. Obviously that is not practical. The press as usual exaggerates and sensationalizes; this is why we need military censorship».

The Israeli and Ukrainian Jewish plan is to resettle the Ashkenazis from the West Bank in the Russian autonomous republic of Crimea after what they see will be an eventual retrocession of the peninsula to Ukraine. The ultimate plans of Ukrainian Zionists such as Kolomoisky, in addition to such American allies as Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland and U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt, is to establish an autonomous Jewish region of Crimea and restore to the peninsula the original Khazarian name of Chazerai. Although the Tatars who live in Crimea and elsewhere today are largely Muslims, the plans to create a Khazar nation in Ukraine will also likely involve global proselytization by Israelis and Ukrainians who are bent on restoring Khazaria as an alternative to Israel. Current Jewish proselytization efforts among «crypto-Jewish» Catholic mestizos in Mexico; Christians, Hindus, and Buddhists in India; Russian Orthodox and Buddhists in Birobidzhan, Siberia; Muslims in Pakistan and Afghanistan; and Christians, Muslims, and animists in Uganda, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Malawi; and among small pockets of alleged Jewish descendants in China, Sao Tome and Principe, Tahiti, Suriname, Vietnam, Brazil, and Peru point to an Israeli plan intent on increasing Jewish numbers for the purpose of settlement in a number of locations outside the illegally-occupied West Bank and the Golan Heights. In addition to Ukraine, northern Iraq, eastern Libya, Alexandria in Egypt, parts of Turkey, Patagonia in Argentina, and Uganda are all being considered for potential Jewish settlements to complement the West Bank or replace it. The so-called «Lost Tribe of Israel,» the Bnei Menashe of Mizoram and Manipur states of northeast India are viewed by many Indians as not actually Jewish but desperate economic migrants looking for better lives in Israel. So desperate are the Israeli expansionists to increase their numbers, dubious Jewish DNA studies have attempted to classify the Sorbs of eastern Germany; the Bantu Lemba people of Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Mozambique; and certain groups of southern Italians, Armenians, and Greeks as «lost tribes» of Israel in order to increase Judaism’s numbers and geographical land claims.

In Ukraine, the so-called «second Israel,» Kolomoisky and Kiev have enlisted a number of ex-Israel Defense Force members in their volunteer battalions, including the Azov Battalion, One of the Israeli units is known as the «Blue Helmets of Maidan» and is commanded by an Israeli using the pseudonym «Delta». If Israel did not have a vested interest in expanding its influence in Ukraine it could easily prevent these units from going to Ukraine.

There are also Sephardic Jewish settlers in the West Bank who are descended from the Jewish Marranos of Moorish-ruled Spain who were expelled from the Iberian Peninsula during the Spanish and Portuguese inquisitions of the 15th century who have no ties to Ashkenazis or Khazaria. Recently, in a move similar to Ukraine’s invitation to the Ashkenazis from the West Bank to settle in Ukraine, Spain and Portugal have enacted legislation that would permit any Sephardic Jew anywhere in the world who can prove their descent from the Marranos expelled during the Inquisition to obtain citizenship in the two countries. 

Some Russian speakers in the Donbass are wary of the intentions of pro-Israelis in the Kiev government. Oddly, Kolomoisky has recruited a number of neo-Nazis from western Ukraine and Europe to fight in his battalions whose right-wing organizations have always subscribed to the notion of a future «battle royale» between Russia and the remnants of Khazaria in Israel, Ukraine, Poland, and the Republic of Georgia to avenge Khazaria’s defeat in the 11th century by the Russian Empire.

Israel provided the Georgian government of President Mikheil Saaakashvili, which included a number of dual Israeli-Georgian nationals of Khazar descent, with military and intelligence assistance in its 2008 war against South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Similarly, the Israelis have established close ties with Azerbaijan, a country, which like Georgia and Ukraine, has ancient links to Khazaria through an indigenous group of Azeri Jews known as Subbotniks.

The anonymous Netanyahu aide is also quoted by The Times of Israel journalists as revealing why the Israeli government in making a play for large Israeli settlements in Ukraine: «As the Prime Minister has said, no one will tell Jews where they may or may not live on the historic territory of their existence as a sovereign people. He is willing to make painful sacrifices for peace, even if that means giving up part of our biblical homeland in Judea and Samaria. But then you have to expect us to exercise our historical rights somewhere else. We decided this will be on the shores of the Black Sea, where we were an autochthonous people for more than 2000 years. Even the great non-Zionist historian Simon Dubnow said we had the right to colonize Crimea. It’s in all the history books. You can look it up».

The aide revealed to the two Israeli journalists that Netanyahu appreciates the strength of the ancient Khazars and quote Netanyahu as saying, «we are a proud and ancient people whose history here goes back 4,000 years». But the aide added, «The same is true of the Khazars . . . in Europe and not quite as long. But look at the map: the Khazars did not have to live within ‘Auschwitz borders.’»

To the uninformed, which apparently includes President Barack Obama and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, the current Israeli desire to create a new nationalist Israeli identity is tied directly to the activities of the Ukrainian leadership of Petro Poroshenko, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Kolomoisky, and their American supporters, Nuland and Pyatt, in creating a safe haven, temporary or not, for the Ashkenazi settlers of the West Bank. Thanks to the Times of Israel exposé of the secret Israeli report on the Khazars and modern-day Israel, the machinations behind the American and European Union destabilization of Ukraine becomes all the more apparent.

ISIS ATTACKS ON DAYR EL-ZOR TOTTER- HUNDREDS KILLED – AS ISIS EXECUTES ITS OWN FLEEING RATS; TERRORIST WIFE ARRESTED BY SAR

You can imagine the delight we at SyrPer experience when we hear ISIS executing 200+ of its own murdering rats on the charge they fled the scene of battle.  In this case, the executions were reported by ISIS itself in Al-Raqqa.  The 200 or more vermin were once in Dayr El-Zor as part of the major invasion force to recapture the old glory days when ISIS was rampaging throughout northern Iraq and Syria.  Well, it’s not so any more.   ISIS has been stopped cold by both the Syrian and Iraqi armies, all supported by efficient and committed militias.
The military situation in Dayr El-Zor has shifted mightily toward the Syrian Army commanded by Maj. Gen. ‘Issaam Zhahreddeen, the legendary Syrian paratrooper who takes bullets just like his men.  Yesterday, we reported the event at Jafraa when a Libyan Barbary ape tried to open a gap in the base defenses by driving a fully rigged T-55 tank and detonating it at a major southern checkpoint.  It did not work.  The tank was destroyed by SAA anti-tank weapons and the driver is now a mist of molecules someplace in Hell.
What we did not know at that time, due to uncontrollable jubilation, was that the SAA did not merely stop at blunting the operation.  It appears the SAA was already prepared to launch both air strikes and ground operations to pursue the offending rodents both in Jafraa and Huwayjat Al-Sakr.  Hundreds of ISIS rodents were killed – the exact number still unknown as the area is being assessed.  Wael has heard that it is more than 500.
The entire campaign to either take control of Dayr El-Zor or to invade the base is in question, especially since so many of the rats have jumped ship and left for more secure bases only to find their Caliph aggrieved by their actions.  This Caliph of Cockadoodledoo doesn’t show much sympathy for his stalwarts. He ordered them executed – each with a shot to the head.  We suspect that as the executions of fleeing rodents increase, word will get out and so will the rats, their voyages back to England, France, Belgium, Germany and Holland to be savored by all who share our Schadenfreude.

Well, he’s not Chechen.  His real name is Anas Yahyaa Muhammad Al-Jarkas, born in Al-Qusayr, Homs, SAR of the union between Khadraa Jammool and Yahyaa Al-Jarkas.  The sister-in-law is Laylaa ‘Abdul-Kareem Al-Najaar.  She is married to his brother, Muhammad Jarkas.  You see, Abu-‘Ali confabbed with Laylaa from his rat hole in ‘Arsaal and convinced her to leave Muhammad because he was an “agent of the regime”.  Laylaa admitted during interrogation that she did not want to live with “infidels” (Kuffaar) and left her husband for the Qalamoon.  This Abu ‘Ali character is quite a card.  He officially belongs to Nusra, in which he is under the direct command of Hamza Qarqooz, but, has declared his loyalty to ISIS and the Caliph of Cockamamee.  Go figure.     
Many of you will be shocked to learn that this Abu ‘Ali Al-Sheeshaani, the Salafist and Takfeeri crusader for freedom and justice in the Islamic World, still works at his favorite profession – smuggling.  That’s right, he used to smuggle cigarettes from and to Syria via the Northern Bekaa Valley.  Today,  he is smuggling hashish.  If you want to know anything about the decay of this kind of Islam, study the life of Abu ‘Ali Al-Sheeshaani.

Recent strikes on Syria by Israel have been alleged to be part of a regional plan by the US, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Israel to establish a no-fly-zone (NFZ) over Syria, just as NATO did in Libya in 2011 effectively handing the entire nation over to Al Qaeda and now “Islamic State” terrorists. DEBKA File has suggested in its article, “Israel air strikes wiped out Russian hardware for thwarting US no-fly zone plan over Syria,” that:
High-ranking American military sources revealed Monday, Dec. 8, that Israel’s air strikes near Damascus the day before wiped out newly-arrived Russian hardware including missiles that were dispatched post haste to help Syria and Hizballah frustrate a US plan for a no-fly zone over northern Syria.
Regardless of the veracity of this report, attempts to justify and impose a NFZ over Syria has been a stated goal of Western policymakers since 2011 when a similar ploy was used under the guise of “humanitarian intervention” in Libya.
No-Fly-Zone to Protect Terrorist Mercenaries, Not “Civilians” or “Rebels” 
Corporate-financier funded policymakers from the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) published an article in 2013 titled, “Jack Keane and Danielle Pletka: How to Stop Assad’s Slaughter,” claiming:
Syria is not Libya. Bashar Assad’s troops are well armed, and his ground forces are waging successful campaigns against rebel forces across the country. But eliminating Assad’s ability to take to the air and tilting the balance of power in favor of anti-Assad rebels—as the United States and its allies did with the fighters who eventually overthrew Moammar Gadhafi—is both achievable and advisable.
However, in Libya, NATO’s “humanitarian” NFZ clearly was implemented not to protect innocent civilians, but to provide air cover for terrorist mercenaries armed and directed by NATO itself. These terrorists are now revealed to be Al Qaeda and the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS). It is clear then that “Assad’s slaughter” is in all actuality a war being waged upon the depraved ranks of Al Qaeda – from its Al Nusra front to ISIS.
From the beginning of Syria’s conflict in 2011, the US State Department itself revealed Al Qaeda’s Al Nusra Front was not only involved in early fighting, but had already established a nationwide presence carrying out hundreds of attacks in every major Syrian city. In an official statement by the US State Department designating Al Nusra as a foreign terrorist organization and as an alias for Al Qaeda in Iraq, it was reported that:
Since November 2011, al-Nusrah Front has claimed nearly 600 attacks – ranging from more than 40 suicide attacks to small arms and improvised explosive device operations – in major city centers including Damascus, Aleppo, Hamah, Dara, Homs, Idlib, and Dayr al-Zawr. During these attacks numerous innocent Syrians have been killed.
The widespread presence of Al Qaeda so early in the conflict is owed to the fact that the United States, Israel, and Saudi Arabia, since at least as early as 2007, conspired openly to use the terrorist organization to wage a regional proxy war against Iran and its allies, including Syria and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Damascus’ war, then, is not one being waged against its own people, nor against “pro-democracy rebels,” but rather against a heavily armed front of sectarian militants backed from abroad seeking to invade, overthrow, and occupy the nation of Syria. This foreign-backed terrorist front, with the help of the Western media, is merely hiding behind the ever tenuous facade of genuine “rebellion.”
One example in particular illustrates not only this reality – the fact that there are none and never have been “moderate rebels” – but also the fact that Western intervention predicated upon assisting nonexistent “moderate rebels” and “civilians” is a criminal conspiracy designed solely around regime change and imposing the West’s will upon the nation and people of Syria. 
Last month, it would be revealed that terrorists portrayed by the West as “moderate rebels” and allegedly “vetted” by the United States before being armed with advanced weaponry including anti-tank missiles were officially merged with Al Qaeda. The International Business Times would claim in its article, “Syria: Al-Nusra Jihadists ‘Capture US TOW Anti-Tank Missiles’ from Moderate Rebels,” that:
Weaponry supplied by the US to moderate Syrian rebels was feared to have fallen into the hands of jihadist militants affiliated to al-Qaida after clashes between rival groups.  
Islamist fighters with Jabhat al-Nusra seized control of large swathes of land in Jabal al-Zawiya, Idlib province, at the weekend, routing the US-backed groups the Syrian Revolutionaries Front (SFR) and Harakat Hazm, activists said.  
Washington relied on SFR and Harakat Hazm to counter Isis (Islamic State) militants on the ground in Syria, complementing its air strikes.

One Syrian rebel group supported in the past by the United States condemned the air strikes on Tuesday. Harakat Hazm, a rebel group that received a shipment of U.S. anti-tank weapons in the spring, called the airstrikes “an attack on national sovereignty” and charged that foreign led attacks only strengthen the Assad regime.The statement comes from a document, purportedly from the group, that has circulated online and was posted in English translation from a Twitter account called Syria Conflict Monitor. Several Syria experts, including the Brookings Doha Center’s Charles Lister, believe the document to be authentic. Despite attempts to claim Harakat Hazm had “fallen” to Al Qaeda, Harakat Hazm itself had already openly pledged allegiance to Al Qaeda a month beforehand. In September, the Daily Beast would report in its article, “Al Qaeda Plotters in Syria ‘Went Dark,’ U.S. Spies Say,” that Harakat Kazm condemned US airstrikes on ISIS and Al Nusra. The Daily Beast reported (emphasis added):

Before the official statement, there were signs that Harakat Hazm was making alliances in Syria that could conflict with its role as a U.S. partner. In early Septemeber a Harakat Hazm official told a reporter for the L.A. Times: “Inside Syria, we became labeled as secularists and feared Nusra Front was going to battle us…But Nusra doesn’t fight us, we actually fight alongside them. We like Nusra.”
The US, NATO, Israel as the “Islamic State’s” Air Force
With this in mind, Syria’s allies must take all measures to ensure a no-fly-zone is not only politically unachievable, but tactically and strategically unachievable as well. Failure in Syria will open the flood gates of proxy terrorism and warfare upon Iran, then Russia and China. The world can ill-afford the continued primacy of a hegemonic power willing to use such tactics to achieve the already abhorrent, intolerable objective of global conquest.   Just as in Libya where genocidal sectarian extremists operating under the flag of Al Qaeda’s regional franchises including the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) and Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) both now openly operating under the banner of ISIS, were thrust into power with NATO backing, so to does NATO plan on installing extremists into primacy across Syria. The goal is not simply the ruination of Syria, but the use of Syria as a springboard to wage war upon Iran and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, then turn NATO’s terrorist mercenary force northeast toward Russia and then China.
To this end, the US, NATO – primarily Turkey – as well as Israel, have throughout the Syrian conflict provided arms, aid, equipment, and even airpower to Al Qaeda in their bid to violently overthrow the Syrian government. Just as was done in Libya, Al Qaeda’s role in the fighting was covered up with the illusion of “moderate rebels” and “unarmed” “pro-democracy protesters.” As the facade collapsed, an increasingly tangled and incoherent narrative has emerged to explain how the West is infusing the region with billions in military aid, and yet Al Qaeda rather than the West’s fabled “moderates” have emerged as the dominate fighting force across the region.
The only explanation, and as was the plan from the very beginning, is that the US, NATO, Israel and other regional partners are intentionally building up and deploying Al Qaeda’s various factions across the region to fight in an increasingly horrific, costly, proxy war.
The proposed “no-fly-zone” the West has been attempting to implement is simply rhetorical cover for providing Al Qaeda directly with air cover while preventing the only actual military force in the region fighting Al Qaeda, the Syrian Arab Army, from finally eliminating this scourge from within their borders and restoring order across their country and in turn, across the region.
