Families of abducted Lebanese soldiers: Bazzal's blood won't go to waste

The families of the abducted Lebanese soldiers accused Sunday the Lebanese government of neglecting their ordeal and held it responsible for delays in the release of their sons, threatening to escalate their protests and take extreme measures unless authorities step up the effort.
Addressing scores of people who gathered in Riad al-Solh Square in Downtown Beirut in solidarity with the families of the soldiers, Omar Haidar, the spokesperson of the captured soldiers’ follow-up committee, slammed the parliament for extending its mandate yet failing to “bring back the sons of its own institutions to their mothers.”
“We will become [like] Daesh [ISIS] if we have to,” Haidar said, threatening that the families will resort to violence and take matters into their own hands.
It has been a frustrating and painful four months for the families of the estimated 29 soldiers and policemen who were abducted by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), and al-Qaeda linked Syria branche al-Nusra Front, during a five-day battle with the army in the northeastern town of Ersal on the border with Syria in August.
The solidarity rally came a week after al-Nusra executed Lebanese policeman Ali Bazzal.
“My son’s blood will not go to waste,” Bazzal’s father vowed Sunday.
Meanwhile, Sabrina Krumba, the wife of abducted soldier Ziad Omar, told the crowd what her husband told her about al-Bazzal’s death when she visited him recently in the outskirts of Ersal.
According to Krumba, when al-Nusra militants came in and took Bazzal to execution, he thought it was nothing more than a bluff.
“Do not have lunch without me, I’m coming back. I come back every time,” he told his fellow captives.
“Our government has left us. It has given us up,” Krumba quoted her husband as saying, explaining that the kidnapped soldiers have lost faith in their government.
“You are not Lebanon, we are Lebanon,” she said, addressing the lawmakers. “We will bring them back if you fail to.”
One Lebanese MP, Naji Gharios, was booed offstage by the crowd who refused to allow him to give his speech.
However, the MP was called back on stage after the families urged the angry crowd to give him a chance.
Gharios blamed the government for Bazzal’s death and condemned it for “disclosing to the public” information about the ongoing negotiations with the extremist groups.
Last week, Qatar halted its bid to broker the release of Lebanese soldiers and policemen captured by Islamist militants during a raid on a Lebanese border town in August, saying its efforts had failed after one of the captives was killed.
Qatar had previously helped mediate the release of hostages held by Nusra.
“Mediation efforts were out of humanitarian reasons, as well as Qatar’s keenness to preserve the lives of innocent people,” the Qatari statement read, adding that Lebanon was the one that had asked for Qatar’s mediation.
The ministry added that Qatar “will not continue its effort due to the failure of these efforts,” and “expressed its regret on the murder of a Lebanese soldier” – the fourth of the captives killed since August.
The SITE intelligence monitoring center said in November that Nusra had proposed to a Qatari negotiator freeing the Lebanese captives in return for the release of Islamist prisoners held in Syria and Lebanon.
Since the abduction, ISIS has beheaded two soldiers, while Nusra executed two.
In November, sources told Al-Akhbar that the fate of the hostages is no longer in the hands of militants in the Qalamoun area, where the soldiers are being held, but in the hands of ISIS leader and self-proclaimed “caliph” Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

SAA COMPLETES ACTUAL ENCIRCLEMENT OF ALEPPO; DE MISTURA EFFORT EXPOSED AS FRAUD
ALEPPO:
The encirclement of Aleppo and attendant choke-off of all supply and reinforcement pathways is now complete. Unlike the situation before when the encirclement was by virtue of artillery control, Aleppo is now hermetically sealed with the presence of the army at every artery serving this northern capital. South and West Handaraat are firmly under the control of the SAA where our soldiers found a huge Turk-supplied arsenal of weapons in cleverly concealed locations defended by die-hard, suicidal degenerates. The number of rodents killed has not been announced yet, but, it promises to be quite large. Rat communications demonstrate desperation as their one last claim to fame has disappeared.
Al-Mallaah Farms and Properties: Completely under control of SAA. The remnant rats have headed to the north for the security of Erdoghan’s Kingdom of Murder.
Handaraat: Very important. And the most important parts are the south and west which fell to the SAA yesterday after the virulent plague-carrying rodents abandoned their sinking ship and headed north. The Al-Kindi Hospital is also now under the control of the SAA although it has been pillaged by the scavenging heretics of Nusra rendering it useless for the treatment of human beings.
To find the Al-Mallaah Farms scroll to the northwest of Handaraat and you’ll see it.
Jaraabulus: ISIS has reportedly executed 21 young men for blasphemy and “collaboration with the government”.
Manbij: Once controlled only by rival gangs fighting for territory, this town is now infested with something even worse: English and German terrorists bent on murdering their way to Paradise. For some time, the SAA had exercised partial control over the town in agreement with the gangs we mentioned, however, the troops were need elsewhere leaving the citizens with little protection from Erdoghan’s cockroaches. If you think English soccer fans are a drag, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
De Mistura’s efforts to “freeze” fighting in Aleppo was exposed as motivated by a desire to preserve some terrorist control of the city for the purposes of negotiating. All sources we have and to whom we have listened are saying the same thing: De Mistura, like Kofi Annan and Lakhdar Brahimi, is nothing more than a Saudi/Zionist/Erdoghani/NATO catamite hardly worth the time the Syrians have given him. Let him freeze fighting now.

Ukrainians inflict a painful defeat on their Russian opponents
Finally, after a long series of humiliating defeats, the Ukrainian Nazis have succeed in scoring a major defeat against their Russian opponents. True, this did not happen Novorussia and their opponents were already dead. In fact, the Ukrainian "attack" happened on a cemetery in Australia in Sydney, the Russian and Serbian sections of the Rookwood Cemetery, the biggest in Australia. Apparently, the attackers did not realize that some of the tombs were Serbian. Either that, or they decided to make these allies of the accursed Moskal pay for their pro-Russian compatriots fighting against the Nazis in the Donbass. Whatever may be the case, this probably was a demonstration of Ukrainian martial might in preparation for the upcoming visit of Poroshenko to Australia.
You can see some footage of the defeated Russian and Serbian gravestones by clicking here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLs6fv_8yeQ
The Australian police after some superb detective work concluded with confidence that "there was no evidence to suggest the crime was motivated by racial or religious hatred". Apparently, when Nazis desecrate Jewish graves this is a racist hate crime, but when the very same Nazis desecrate Russian and Serbian graves, this has nothing to do with racial or religious hatred. Okay, fair enough. If the cops said it, it must be true.
In contrast to the cops, the The Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organizations labeled the attack a hate crime, calling for an investigation "at the highest levels" showing that Ukrainian émigrés have far more honor and decency that the local politicians (I don't blame the cops, really, they say what they are ordered to say).
Seriously now, the idiots who did that will probably be found. There must be physical evidence all over the place and they probably were caught on some camera. I doubt that these were Ukrainians from the Ukraine, but probably local glue-sniffing skinheads. There is, however, no doubt in my mind whatsoever what inspired these freaks to "attack" Russian gravestones: the unanimous anti-Russian hysteria in the Anglo media worldwide. So regardless of who actually did the deed, Poroshenko and his Nazi junta still "own" these "supporters". As does the AngloZionist Empire.

Turkish police raid media outlets linked to Gulen, arrest 23
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attends the "Seb-i Arus" commemoration organization at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall on December 13, 2014 in Istanbul, Turkey. Anadolu / Kayhan Özer
Published Sunday, December 14, 2014
Updated at 2:00 pm (GMT +2): Turkish police raided media outlets close to US-based Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen on Sunday and detained 23 people nationwide, two days after President Tayyip Erdogan signaled a fresh campaign against Gulen's supporters
| Recep Tayyip Erdogan (left) and Fethullah Gulen were once close allies |
The raids on Zaman newspaper and Samanyolu television marked an escalation of Erdogan's battle with former ally Gulen, with whom he has been in open conflict since a graft investigation targeting Erdogan's inner circle emerged a year ago.
| Zaman's editor-in-chief waves to staff while being arrested by counter-terror police |
"The free press cannot be silenced," a crowd chanted at the offices of Zaman as its editor Ekrem Dumanli made a speech defiantly challenging police to detain him, while elsewhere in Istanbul the chairman of Samanyolu TV was being detained.
"This is a shameful sight for Turkey," Samanyolu TV group chairman Hidayet Karaca told reporters just before he himself was held.
"Sadly in 21st Century Turkey this is the treatment they dish out to a media group with tens of television and radio stations, internet media and magazines."
Media reports said arrest warrants had been issued for 32 people. State broadcaster TRT Haber said 23 people had been detained in raids across EU-candidate Turkey, including two former police chiefs. As well as Karaca, a television producer, a director and scriptwriters were held.
English-language Today's Zaman editor Bulent Kenes told Reuters police had shown them documentation which referred to a charge of 'forming a gang to try and seize state sovereignty'.
Government ministers declined to make specific comments on the raids, but Health Minister Mehmet Muezzinoglu said "anyone who does wrong pays the price", state media reported.
"Coup against democracy”
Commenting on the raids, main opposition CHP leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu told reporters "this is a coup government. A coup is being carried out against democracy.”
Erdogan accuses Gulen of establishing a "parallel structure" within the state through his supporters in the judiciary, police and other state institutions, as well as wielding influence through the media.
The cleric denies the accusation of seeking to overthrow Erdogan's government.
Erdogan drew on Gulen's influence in police and judiciary in the first years of his government in taming an army that had toppled four governments since 1960, including Turkey's first Islamist-led cabinet. That relationship has dramatically soured.
Erdogan, who consolidated his power further in moving from the prime minister's office to the presidency in August, said on Friday he would pursue Gulen's supporters into their "lairs".
"We have gone into their lairs and we will go into them again. Whoever is beside them and behind them, we will bring down this network and bring it to account," Erdogan told a business forum in Ankara.
He has described them in the past as terrorists and traitors.
Alluding to an international conspiracy, Erdogan said the "parallel structure" was targeting Turkey's stability, independence and economy.
"I want my dear nation to know that we are not just faced with a simple network, but one which is a pawn of national and international evil forces," he said.
The corruption probe, which became public with police raids on December 17 last year, led to the resignation of three ministers and prompted Erdogan to purge the state apparatus, reassigning thousands of police and hundreds of judges and prosecutors.
Erdogan has also pushed through legislation increasing government control of the judiciary, most recently a law restructuring two top courts. Prosecutors have meanwhile dropped the corruption cases.
Sunday's police raids had been expected for a several days after a widely-followed Twitter account, which has previously given advance warning of police operations, said police were set to detain some 400 people, including around 150 journalists regarded as Gulen supporters.
Top Turkey cleric under fire over luxury Mercedes
Turkey's top cleric came under fire on Saturday over reports that a luxury Mercedes had been purchased at public expense to serve as his official car -- the latest government splurge to cause a public outcry.
Mehmet Gormez, the head of Turkey's Religious Affairs Directorate, known as Diyanet in Turkish, will soon be cruising in a Mercedes s500, worth some 350,000 euros ($435,000), the Hurriyet newspaper reported Saturday.
Diyanet, whose budget is funded by taxpayers, bought another 14 Toyota cars for its senior officials, the newspaper said, noting that they previously rode in the more modest Renault Symbol.
The purchases have caused an online outcry in the mainly Muslim but officially secular country, which has been run by a government with Islamist roots for more than a decade.
Many argued that such extravagance was against Islamic principles.
"Let's call the Fatwa (religious ruling) hotline and ask: Isn't it haram -- forbidden by Islam -- to buy a luxury car for the head of Diyanet by using citizens' donations?" Hakan Sukur, former international football player and MP, wrote on Twitter.
"One never knows who might have money or who might have faith in God," opposition lawmaker Erdal Aksunger wrote, using a Turkish proverb. Another MP called on Gormez to resign.
Diyanet did not deny the reports, but said in a statement that the cars had been bought through state tenders and the cost was less than estimated by the press.
"All vehicles have been purchased with the approval of the finance ministry.... All expenses are documented in a transparent way," it added.
Gormez was among top Turkish figures who welcomed Pope Francis to Turkey late last month. The pope, who has made a point of eschewing luxury, opted to ride in a Renault Symbol during his visit.
The debate comes amid ongoing controversy over President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's new presidential palace, a 1,150-room complex in Ankara that cost taxpayers more than $600 million.

.China offers military help to Iraq to defeat ISIS – report
Source
Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Jafari says that his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, has made an offer to help Iraq fight Islamic State militants. Beijing has volunteered to assist with airstrikes, though it will not join the US-led coalition against ISIS.
The conversation between the ministers took place during a UN anti-terrorism meeting in New York back in September, the Financial Times reports.
China’s offer is a step away from its official policy of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, although it does sell weapons to many other nations.
“[Mr Wang] said, our policy does not allow us to get involved in the international coalition. I welcomed this initiative. I told him…we are ready to deal with the coalition and also co-operate with other countries outside this coalition,” Jafari told the Financial Times.
China’s Defense Ministry declined to comment. However, Hong Lei – a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry – did say that Wang had told Jafari during their meeting that China backed Iraq’s efforts to strengthen its ability to fight terror via intelligence exchange and personnel training. He refused to comment on whether China was supplying air support or missiles to Iraq.
“China has been fighting terrorism and has been providing support and assistance to Iraq, including the Kurdish region, in our own way, and will continue to do so within the best of our capabilities,” Hong told the newspaper.
China is the biggest foreign investor in Iraq’s oil industry, and will lose billions if the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) manages to take over the country’s oil fields. The China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has already had to abandon its oilfields in Syria.

Wang Yi.(Reuters / Greg Baker)
The ISIS advance has been mostly halted, and the militants have suffered minor military setbacks as a result of US-led airstrikes. Iraq has made slow progress reclaiming territory in the north and west of the country, and the city of Mosul is still in the hands of the Islamic State.
Jafari added that Baghdad does not want overseas soldiers on its territory due to concerns that it would lead to anti-foreigner sentiment among Iraqis.

RIYAADH AL-AS’AD’S SON KILLED BY SAA IN ALEPPO; NUSRA DOOMED IN DER’AH; 50 NUSRA RATS DIE IN AL-SHAYKH MISKEEN

On Friday, SyrPer’s winner of the Long John Silver Peg Legged Man of the Year Award, Riyaadh Al-As’ad, found out he lost a second son, Muhammad Riyaadh Al-As’ad, this time while fighting the legitimate national armed forces of the Syrian Arab Republic. You can see both traitors in the above photo decked out in the flag of the French mandate.
ALEPPO:
Riyaadh Al-As’ad, a former colonel in the SAAF responsible for keeping gum wrappers off the airbase runways, and founder of the mostly non-existent Fake Syrian Army, AND, assassination survivor, can’t keep losing his offspring or his limbs. If it isn’t a pesky murder attempt in Turkey which he miraculously survived a year ago (but his eldest son didn’t) or one in Al-Mayaadeen in Eastern Syria where his own friends tried to blow him up, he continually racks up the points in the pinball game of life and death.
Colonel As’ad received the news at his residence in southern Turkey where he now lives after an attempt to move to Holland where his brother is a citizen. When the Dutch government would not provide him with a German prosthetic device for his right leg, he fled to Turkey where the generous Turks offered him a wheelchair stolen from an hospital in Aleppo.
“Look Ma, no feet!” The Colonel studies the space between his knee and the end of his bed while being treated by quacks in Turkey.

DER’AH:

DER’AH:
Al-Shaykh Miskeen: The SAA showed no mercy toward the Nusra-allied vermin inside this town about to be liberated. The field commander of the Brigade of Hawraan’s Lions (Oh, please spare me!), an Abu Zakariyyaa, was sent packing to Satan’s Tanning Salon along with Muhammad Jihaad Sawaayaa. Another notable in this gang of idiots was Muhammad Khaleel Mudawwar who was spirited to certain death at the hands of incompetent Jordanian Army quacks. At the “hospital” in Al-Ramtha, Mudawwar was declared DOD after being administered Kosher wine found in the Zionist taxi cab trunk used for his ambulance. Jordanian shamans tried to revive him with secret incantations and dances, but, he just didn’t want to wake up.
Jordanian Army physician, Nakkaah Mataayiza, takes a breather after trying to revive Mudawwar.
Other carcasses from the 51 identified in Al-Shaykh Miskeen are:
‘Abdul-Jaleel Kamaal ‘Uqda
Taariq ‘Umar Al-Abrash
Faysal Mahmoud Al-Saafi
‘Alaa` Majdi Tannoor
Jameel Mahmoud Al-Qaadhi
Muhammad Habeeb Al-‘Ali
Ghaalib Bahjaat ‘Abdul-Kareem
Salaama Mansoor Al-Ahmad
‘Ali Taalib Rashaad Al-Haaj-Hassan
No other names appeared on the list. Monzer writes that the majority of the carcasses were non-Syrian – many from Jordan and Iraq. He also informs me that leaders of the Brigade of Monotheism’s Lions (yawn), Jaydoor Hawraan Battalion, Liwaa` Al-Saabireen (Brigade of the Patient, I kid you not) and Harakat Al-Muthannaa were killed yesterday bringing into question if these Nusra offshoots can survive any longer.
Tafass: North of Der’ah City. The SAA and PDC turned 2 Nusra nests upside down; seized and defanged 4 booby-trapped cars; destroyed 5 vans loaded with machine guns and ammo; took control of a warehouse with TNT and C-4, mines and IEDs. Not bad for a day’s work. I have no names of the dead buzzards who were defending these instruments of death. The number confirmed killed is 29.
Fighting reported intense in these areas: Northwest ‘Itmaan, Al-Sahaahil, Jimreen in center of city, Simleen, Old Customs Building, ‘Ibta’, Jaassim, Dayr Al-‘Adas, Al-Faqee’, Daa’il, Al-Hiraak, East Al-Maleeha.
Tal Al-Za’tar: The SAA stopped a truck/suicide bomber in his tracks again. He was vaporized and terrorist communications did not disclose his identity.
Busraa Al-Shaam: The SAA has annihilated all remnant rodents in the west neighborhood. Expect great news soon.

It's time to sort out Blair - ICC to Examine UK Troops Abuses during Iraq Invasion
ICC to Examine UK Troops Abuses during Iraq Invasion
The International Criminal Court (ICC) is reportedly expected to look into hundreds of new cases accusing British soldiers of abusing civilians in Iraq between 2003 and 2008.
The Hague-based court will review the cases which detail torture techniques such as rape, sexual assaults, electrocution, sleep deprivation, beating and hooding used by British forces in Iraq during interrogations in the period, the Independent reported on Sunday.
The cases, which have been presented by lawyers and human right activists, accuse UK troops of abusing Iraqi children, women and men aged between 13 and 101.
In one of the cases, an Iraqi policeman died after British soldiers “forced his head into a bucket of cold water a number of times. He stopped breathing and died. His wife and children witnessed the soldiers killing him.”
The Independent report comes ahead of the publication of an official report into allegations that British forces mistreated and unlawfully killed Iraqis back in 2004.
The report, due to be released on Wednesday, is likely to fuel anger against the British government, which reportedly was aware of the torture techniques by the US spy agency CIA.

Iraq War 'Biggest Cover-Up of Our Time'; Families Still Wait
for Results of Chilcot Inquiry
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/iraq-war-biggest-cover-up-time-4786195
As the US comes clean (PARTIALLY )on its use of torture, questions are being asked about why the UK continues to suppress Sir John Chilcot's report
Angry relatives tonight demanded to know why the Chilcot Inquiry into the Iraq invasion has not been released – four years after it was promised.
The controversial inquiry into the Iraq War – which cost the lives of 179 British troops in six years of conflict following the 2003 invasion – was first ordered by former PM Gordon Brown in 2009, after years of public pressure.
Its chairman, Sir John Chilcot, said then that a report would be published in around 18 months.
Financial cost of the war in the Middle East to Britain
£9.5bn
Total
£10m
Inquiry
Today Rose Gentle, 50, from Glasgow, and the other families of men and women who laid down their lives in the middle east, still have no answers.
Rose, who lost 19-year-old son Gordon, said: “If they have nothing to hide, why won’t they publish the report? It’s a huge cover-up. It’s the biggest cover-up of our time.
“Look at Iraq now. It’s certainly not any safer. Tony Blair said it would be a safer place but it’s not.
"I think Tony Blair is responsible for the Iraq War and I hold him responsible for my son’s death and always will.”
Daily Record
Reginald Keys, 62, whose son, Lance-Corporal Thomas Richard Keys was killed near Basra aged 20, said: “We were told before we went to war that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.
“We were led to believe he could strike the UK in 45 minutes. It was a lie. It was a blatant lie. And I want to know why my son died for a lie?
"They are delaying it because they are trying to cover up the truth. That war didn’t just take away my son, it took away my wife as well. She never got over the death of Thomas.”
SWNS
Some senior Whitehall figures were questioning why the Westminster political establishment seem to still be blocking Chilcot’s findings when the Americans had come clean over waterboarding, hooded beatings and sleep deprivation.
The families were backed by politicians who are also demanding the unveiling of the Chilcot report which has already cost £10million of taxpayers’ money.
Tory MP Mark Field, a member of the powerful Commons intelligence and security committee, fears the report will not come out before May’s general election.
He said: “This is a politically sensitive report. You can see those sensitivities regrettably might mean we see it delayed until after the election.”
Labour would be likely to object to a pre-election release because it is expected to be critical of former PM Tony Blair.
Mirrorpix
There have been reports, however, that Blair and others criticised have now received official notifications of what the report says and been given the chance to respond.
Blair’s office insists that he has no interest in delaying publication and wants it published so he can justify his actions. He faces claims, including from Ms Gentle and Mr Keys, that he misled the public about the reasons for going to war.
David Cameron said in May the report should be published by the end of 2014.
Casualties
179 British troops killed during 6-year war
3,598 Brit troops wounded
461k Total number of deaths in Iraq from war-related causes
But speaking in Turkey today – with three weeks to go – the PM admitted he still does not know when it will be out.
Mr Cameron said: “I am not in control of when this report is published. These sort of reports are controlled and timed by the independent inquiry board that has carried out that vital work.”
While it was former PM Tony Blair who played the leading role in taking Britain to war, the Tories could also be criticised after backing him in every vote.
Iraqi casualties have been estimated at least 650,000 and a Whitehall source told the Mirror in June: “The inquiry thinks thousands of lives were needlessly lost.”
It is unclear whether it will also detail the extent of Britain’s role in the horrific CIA torture programme laid bare in a heavily redacted report on Tuesday.
Today top human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson called on the PM to ask for all CIA material relating to Britain, and then publish it.
Earlier this year Mr Blair’s former Attorney General Lord Morris raged: “Not to publish is to undermine the whole object. Delay is unjust – and justice to the public is denied.”
Timeline
PA
- June 15, 2009: Inquiry announced.
- Jan 29, 2010: Tony Blair evidence. “No regrets” on ousting Saddam.
- Feb 2, 2011: Last public hearing.
- Nov 16: Report’s release put back until at least summer 2012.
- Nov 7, 2013: Row over records of conversations between Gordon Brown, Blair and President Bush.
- May 29, 2014: Extracts of Blair-Bush exchanges to be published.
- Sept 14: Now unlikely report published before 2015 general election.
