Uprooted Palestinians are at the heart of the conflict in the M.E Palestinians uprooted by force of arms. Yet faced immense difficulties have survived, kept alive their history and culture, passed keys of family homes in occupied Palestine from one generation to the next.
In October 2011 the Obama administration accused one Mansour Arbabsiar and Iran of a rather weird "plot" to kill the Saudi ambassador in Washington DC. Recently released Saudi foreign ministry papers published by Wikileaks shine some new light on the case.
The United States on Tuesday accused Iranian officials of plotting to murder Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United States in a bizarre scheme involving an Iranian-American used-car salesman who believed he was hiring assassins from a Mexican drug cartel for $1.5 million.The alleged plot also included plans to pay the cartel, Los Zetas, to bomb the Israeli Embassy in Washington and the Saudi and Israeli Embassies in Argentina, according to a law enforcement official. The plotters also discussed a side deal between the Quds Force, part of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, and Los Zetas to funnel tons of opium from the Middle East to Mexico, the official said. The plans never progressed, though, because the two suspects — the Iranian-American and an Iranian Quds Force officer — unwittingly were dealing with an informant for the Drug Enforcement Administration, officials said.
I called the plot "nonsense" and another well known blogger suspected "a black flag operation by Israel or Saudi Arabia". I later added:
The failed used car salesman Mansour J. Arbabsiar, who is accused in the "Iran kills Saudi ambassador" movie plot, is a hapless idiot and petty criminal whose businesses deals always went wrong. He couldn't even match his socks, smoked marihuana and drank a lot of alcohol, was nonreligious, an opponent of the Iranian regime and only cared about money. A business man who knows him calls him "worthless" and his neighbors believed he was dealing in drugs.

Every Iran expert interviewed thinks the story as presented is nonsense: Alireza Nader from Rand Corp, Kenneth Katzman of the Congressional Research Service, former CIA agent Robert Baer, Carter era NSC official Gary Sicks, Bush 2 NSC official Hillary Mann Leverett (also here), Muhammad Sahimi of PBS/Tehran Bureau and Iran scholar Hamid Serri.
As reasons for the Obama administration to run the story I listed:
To get some momentum for additional international sanctions on Iran
To prop up the connections with the Saudi regime as that had threatened to distance itself from the U.S. over the U.S. veto of a Palestinian state
Now Arash Karami, who covers Iran for AL-Monitor, found a document in the Saudi leak stash that is relevant to the plot. The document is in Arabic. He asked the public:

Wessam el-Deweny a "political researcher and translator", described by NPR as a "young Egyptian activist", also responded to Arash Karami's question:

they agreed on a diplomatic hoax which is stirring the media against Iran over the story of this person called Mansour Arbabsiar
The scenario is expected to pave th way for a request from Security Council to issue a new decision against Iran
They also agreed that the accusations will be directed against Al-Quds Force for its leading role in Iran's regional politics
The source of the Saudi leak stash is unknown and some of the documents in it may be fake. But this one could well be genuine.
All signs at the time of the plot and all expert opinions about it were saying that the plot was either a total fake or some sting operation by the Justice Department that was turned into political fodder against Iran. The now published document confirms as much.
In May 2013 Mansour Arbabsiar was sentenced to 25 years in prison after he pleaded guilty in 3 counts of the originally wider accusations. Guilty pleas after sting operations are a regular occurrence. There were some irregularities on the legal side of the case:
The authorities have said that Mr. Arbabsiar knowingly and voluntarily waived his rights to remain silent or to have a lawyer present during his interrogation in his first 12 days in custody, and that he confessed to his role in the plot and shared “extremely valuable intelligence.”
For all we know the guy was just a hapless dude of Iranian descent and the Justice Department, having caught him in a drug sting, wanted a big political case. It seems the guy will have to die in prison for falling for a confidential informer for the Drug Enforcement Administration.
If the case really turns out to have been a conspiracy between the Obama administration and the Saudi dictatorship than he may have a chance to be set free. But despite the new found document that conspiracy will be hard to prove
(SANA) ~ Leaders of Syrian clans affirmed on Friday their absolute rejection of any project that aspires to “cut off their Arab roots”, reiterating their unwavering adherence to their country, state and national unity.
In a statement they issued following statements by Jordan’s King Abdullah II about arming the Syrian clans, the clan leaders said they were outraged by the King’s statement.
“We received with utmost surprise your statement in which you offered to arm the Syrian tribes,” said the statement addressing the King of Jordan.
The clan leaders lashed out at Jordan’s role in facilitating the entry of terrorists into Syria and providing them with weapons, indicating that the US project seeks to fragment the countries of the region, especially Syria and Iraq.
Expressing regret over the role Jordan is playing in the partition scheme against Syria, the clan leaders urged the King of Jordan to oppose any harm that might be done to the Syrian people and land, especially that Syria has always sided with the Arab peoples during tough times.
In a press conference in Damascus after delivering the statement, Sheikh Nawaf al-Milhem, chief of Anza tribe, affirmed that the loyalty of the tribes will remain staunch and unwavering.
Asked about the possibility that some tribesmen might be receiving training in Jordan and fighting side by side with terrorists in Syria, al-Milhem stressed that Syrian clans are committed to their national line” and if some cases might be found, then they are ” few individual cases that represent no one but themselves.”
Commenting on the situation in Sweida province, he said that tribes there are the ones who are defending the province despite attempts to cast the situation there in sectarian light.

The Syrian army managed in the past two days to repel a large scale terrorist attack on the areas of Tilal al-Saar, al-Bazaq and Korom Jaba in Qunietra countryside.
Fierce clashes lasted for two days between the Syrian army and the terrorist groups which are backed by the Israeli occupation army that followed up all the details of the battle.
The terrorist groups plotted to control the hills in the area which can overlook swathes of territories.
The Syrian army, however, prevented them from attaining any of their goals, preserving its control over Quneitra, Damascus, Daraa countrysides and the link between them.
Al-Khaalidiyya: The Syrian Army has confirmed the complete withdrawal and defeat of the Jaysh Al-Fath criminals from this town so crucial now to the expected assault on remant rodents in Al-Raashideen as they try to escape the area. The artillery fire was intense as rat communications signaled an impending withdrawal under unsustainable pressure. Citizens inside were providing Intel to the SAA in order to better target the rodents and their fortifications.
Bashkuwy: At the Jam’iyyaat area, the SAA has taken over control of whole blocks of buildings wresting them away from the rat-clutches of a group of bearded criminals belonging to “Fath Halab”. The army has reported a confirmed 17 dead rodents in the battle. This area is very important in that it is a doorway into Rutyaan, a mere 2 kms away.
Bashkuwy: In the Afghan Quarter, the SAA is now in total control after killing 6 rodents and wounding scores.
Al-Zahraa`: Heavy fighting reported as successive rat efforts to burrow in or attack with suicide drivers met with failure. It is important to note here that the town has a mostly male population of Shi’is and some loyal Sunnis. They are very well armed by HZB and the SAA. Many have now become veterans of insurgency warfare. It is not easy for the rats to penetrate this town.
Al-Sabeel Quarter in the City: SAA has blocked an attempted infiltration by Nusra here and killed 4 rats. Assessment gave the names of only 2 Syrians:

New Aleppo: This is an area that the rats have been trying to invade for years. It has wide boulevards distinct from the narrow alleyways of the Old City with its Ottoman roadways so narrow that sometimes only a donkey cart can get through. In any case, the population here is 100% with the government of Dr. Assad and enjoy a standard of living that is much higher than other areas of Syria. Tanks move easily up and down the wide roads and between buildings. TOW rocket operators are regularly sniped here by alert SF and SAA marksmen.
Heavy fighting is reported now inAl-Raashideen Quarter (Area One), Al-Ashrafiyya, Al-Saaliheen. In Al-Saaliheen, SAAF has been playing a major role in interdicting rat movements.
Kafr Hamraa`, Kuwayris AB, East Al-Ansaari: The Syrian Air Force is swooping down on the huddled rodents with curious regularity. MANPADS, made available to the Al-Qaeda vermin by the United States and Saudi Arabia, are proving useless as new technology installed on Sukhoi and MiG bombers are capable of neutralizing their once-laureled effectiveness. In Al-Ansaari, a combination of SAA artillery and SAAF bombings have shaken the rodents to their bones with intercepted communications indicating a dearth of weapons, ammo or drugs.
Khaan Al-‘Asal: The SAA has killed over 14 rats here in 6 sorties targeting nests. Aerial observation shows many heavy weapons destroyed.
Al-Sha’aar Quarter in the City: More SAAF targeting rodent nests as citizens come forward to spot for MI.
Bani Zayd Quarter: More SAAF strafing. Precision strikes, as confirmed by rat communications, prove that their cadres have been penetrated by loyal Syrians who are willing to place homing devices for our forces. Devastating blow yesterday to Nusra here.
Nests of Jaysh Al-Fath were targeted by the SAAF here: Balaat, Jubb Ghibsha, Bisirtoon, Tal ‘Alam, Tureedam, Al-Za’laana, Bishantaara.
The Saudi warplanes raided on Saturday different Yemeni provinces, killing or wounding a number of civilians in Saada and causing much destruction.
A car bomb had also exploded Saturday near a mosque in the Old City of the capital Sanaa, leaving four civilians dead and dozens of others wounded.
In response, the Yemeni army and popular committees continued striking Qaeda terrorists in various provinces, advancing in Shabwa.
The Yemeni forces further bombarded Saudi bordering sites in the areas of Zahran and Jizan, inflicting considerable losses upon them.
Yemen has been since March 26 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition. Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians.
Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to Yemen’s fugitive president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia.
