Re-branding: Al-Nusra’s Name Change and CNN’s Coverage of It

jihadiflags[ Ed. note – Vanessa Beeley has written a very good article on the recent name change announced by one of the main terrorist factions in Syria. Jabhat al-Nusra, also known as Al-Qaeda in Syria, announced that it would change its name to Jabhat Fatah al-Sham. The announcment was made in a video released by the group in late July.
On August 2, CNN aired a report on the name change that included video-taped comments from one of the organization’s leaders, Mostafa Mahamed, who announced additionally that the group is severing its ties with Al-Qaeda. Mahamed is articulate and fluent in English, and one gets the distinct impression from watching the report that a “re-branding” process is under way.
Although the US technically considers Al-Nusra a terrorist group, would it surprise us if it turned out that Western media outlets such as CNN have reporters embedded with it? Beeley suggests that CNN reporter Clarissa Ward not only is embedded with Al-Nusra/Al-Sham, she even goes so far as to accuse the network of “terror apologism.”
In the excerpt below, Beeley recounts atrocities carried out against the Christian population of Maaloula by the re-branded and “now-moderate” Jabhat Fatah al-Sham. Prior to the outbreak of the Syrian conflict, Maaloula was one of the few places in the world where Aramaic, the language of Jesus Christ, is still spoken as the native language. The war has had a devastating impact upon the town’s people and their places of worship. ]
***
…On the 7th September 2013, Black Saturday in the Maalouli calendar, Al Nusra extremists entered a house in Maaloula.  They rounded up three young men, Sarkis, Mikhael and Anton [see below, from left to right]. Their photos are pinned to the wall of Father Taalab’s office.
srkmikan
Al Nusra demanded that each man convert to Islam, each man in turn refused to renounce their faith and were shot in the head one by one. The second and third were forced to watch their lifelong friends and brothers murdered before being shot themselves for their refusal to abandon their beliefs.
The Al Nusra operatives then went on to shoot an 80 year old man, Lawandeus, who was Anton’s father.  Lawandeus was blind and deaf but this did not prevent Al Nusra’s attempted murder of this defenceless elder citizen whose son’s blood was already staining the floor.
On entering the house, these Al Nusra NATO-GCC agents had also shot Anton’s sister, Antoinette, in the back.  Presuming she was dead they then proceeded to shoot her brother and his two comrades in the head while Antoinette, half conscious, a bullet lodged in her spine, was forced to witness the cold-blooded murders.  Her brother Anton was a shoemaker, the only son of their parents and someone who served his church and the community faithfully and compassionately.
Mikhael was the town baker and Sarkis was an engineering student with a promising future, cut short by the Al Nusra blood-letters whose purpose was to ethnically cleanse the Christian community from its ancestral home.
On the same day, Al Nusra kidnapped six young men from the village including Father Taalab’s brother and two other family members. Father Taalab maintains that Al Nusra deliberately targeted the families of the village clergy which further supports the claim that Al Nusra were intent upon the ethnic cleansing of this ancient community.
These six young men are still missing.  For the first six months, Father Taalab was in contact with them via phone. After that initial six months nothing has been heard from them.  The pain of this “not knowing” was visible in Father Taalab eyes and expression as he talked of efforts ongoing to try and locate the boys and to return them to their families in Maaloula.
We would expect a media outlet as prominent as CNN to report on these atrocities in detail but when we look at their accounts of Al Nusra’s invasion and occupation of Maaloula we find that they have, to a large extent, whitewashed the extremism and murderous intent.
In fact, according to CNN,
“Maaloua was spared the atrocities endured elsewhere across Syria.”
In a May 2016 report, CNN barely mentions the Al Nusra savagery, with only a fleeting reference to the 2013 crimes:
“The convent was badly damaged in 2013 and 12 nuns were taken hostage and held by Islamist fighters for months before being released unharmed.”
This glib reformulation of the truth acts as a criminal gatekeeper as to the true evil of Al Nusra and the barbarity of their acts against the Maalouli people.  CNN is fundamentally entering into the arena of terror apologism and perhaps even endorsement of their heinous crimes against an unprotected and unprepared Christian minority community that had peacefully co-existed with its eventual attackers for almost a full century.

Judaism and Black Skin

By Gilad Atzmon
The above Hebrew news item reports on the hierarchy of Goyim within the Judaic universe. Apparently Black skin is bad but fortunately Chinese eyes are Kosher.
The reports tells the story of a rabbinical Jew who wanted to divorce his wife because he married her unaware that she was of Chinese origin. He complained to the rabbi that their children inherited Asian eye features.  The Rabbi ruled that Chinese eyes are not a defect, unlike Black skin which is.
One of his Rabbinical students asked the Rabbi, what would be the Rabbinical attitude in a case in which the children were born Black.  The rabbi answered that the ruling would have been different because Blacks are cursed by the Curse of Ham.
The Curse of Ham refers to an edict issued by the biblical Noah. In the Book of Genesis, Ham sees his father naked and drunk in his tent. Noah finds out and curses Ham the father of the  Canaanites. Some people of the Abrahamic religions believe Blacks to be the descendants of Ham.  The “curse of Ham” has been used by some to justify racism and the enslavement of people of African ancestry.
It has been argued that contemporary Judaism strongly disagrees with the racist interpretation of the Curse of Ham. But the contemporary  Orthodox Rabbi quoted above quite clearly endorses the most reprehensible racist interpretation of the Curse of Ham. He clearly believes that dark skin is a ‘defect’ because it is the outcome of a curse.
Professor Tony Martin produced a scholarly examination of the Curse of Ham, and as a result of his work, he was subjected to an orchestrated Jewish onslaught. His conclusions were spot on as there is a theological Judaic racist bigotry towards black skin. The Rabbi quoted above is very clear on that point. This bigotry towards Blacks is reflected in the Jewish State’s attitude toward African refugees and Ethiopian Jews. Professor Martin suggests that the Curse of Ham helps explain the prominence of Jewish merchants within the slave trade. This bigotry against dark skin explains Zionism’sattitude towards the Palestinians and also explains the discriminatory Ashkenazi attitude towards the Mizrahi Jews in Israel and beyond.

Indirect 9/11 Link to Saudi Arabia’s Bandar Revealed

In an overnight raid, Pakistani forces captured Abu Zubaydah, allegedly a recruiter for the terror group and a member of Osama bin Laden’s inner circle.
The Prince and the 28 Pages
Now, 14 years after Zubaydah was apprehended, newly declassified information from a 2002 congressional report on the 9/11 attacks, dubbed the “28 pages,” reveals an indirect link previously hidden from the American public between the alleged al-Qaeda operative and a company associated with a key member of the Saudi royal family, former Saudi Ambassador to the United States Prince Bandar bin Sultan.
Ever since 19 men — 15 of them Saudi nationals — hijacked four airplanes and changed the course of American history, the possibility of official Saudi involvement has hung over the relationship between the two countries. While the alleged association with Bandar revealed in the newly declassified pages does not provide direct evidence the prince was complicit in the 9/11 attacks, it raises new questions about Saudi Arabia’s involvement.
The connection to Bandar was made through Zubaydah’s phone book, retrieved during the Pakistani raid in which he was taken. In it, the FBI found numbers linked to the United States, including an unlisted number for a company that managed Bandar’s estate in Aspen, Colorado. An unlisted number was also found for a bodyguard who worked at the Saudi Embassy in Washington.
“Both of those numbers were unpublished, so they had to have gotten into Zubaydah’s phone book through a personal contact who knew what those numbers were and what they represented,” said former Sen. Bob Graham, co-chair of the congressional commission that compiled the 28 pages.
The revelation about Bandar’s indirect ties to the al-Qaeda operative was one of the few pieces of new information contained in the declassified documents.
The CIA and FBI concluded that there was no evidence anyone from the Saudi royal family knowingly provided support for the 9/11 attacks.
But Graham said the indirect connection to the respected former Saudi ambassador was “one of the most stunning parts of the investigation” and worthy of pursuing further.
Bandar was the Saudi ambassador to the United States from 1983 to 2005, during the Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush administrations. He later served as secretary general of Saudi Arabia’s National Security Council and head of Saudi Arabia’s General Intelligence Presidency, the equivalent of the CIA, until last year.
Bandar “is probably the most effective ambassador in Washington ever. Full stop,” said former CIA analyst Bruce Riedel. “He was highly regarded by every president.”
The key Saudi royal figure was known to have the closest relationship with George H. W. Bush, because of Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in the 1990 Gulf War. Saudi Arabia viewed the Iraqi aggression as a threat and supported the subsequent US military action.

“Bandar was in the Bush White House I would say every other day and in some periods every day. It was a very, very close relationship,” said Riedel. “And I think the President and Bandar genuinely liked each other.”
Trying to connect the dots
The so-called 28 pages were the only part of the initial congressional investigation into the September 11 attacks — officially named the Joint Inquiry since both chambers participated — that had not been made public before their declassification in July.
Actually numbering 29 pages, they detail a web of Saudi nationals living in the United States who may have aided the 9/11 hijackers. The George W. Bush administration deemed their publication a threat to “national security” and kept them confidential.
That designation was for more than a decade a bone of contention for family members of 9/11 victims and others who thought the pages might contain more details showing Saudi participation in the terror plot. After continuous pressure, the Obama administration agreed to make the pages public last month.
During the decade-plus they remained classified, Congress established the 9/11 Commission to devote more time and resources to investigate the questions raised by the Joint Inquiry — such as what the nature and extent of the Bandar tie was— because the inquiry was by no means exhaustive. The 9/11 Commission’s book-length findings were published in 2004 and found “no evidence that the Saudi government as an institution or senior Saudi officials individually funded” al-Qaeda.
The FBI investigated the phone numbers indirectly linked to Bandar in the summer and fall of 2002. A CIA-FBI investigation concluded in 2005 that there was “no evidence that either the Saudi government or a member of the Saudi royal family knowingly provided support” for the September 11 attacks or “had foreknowledge of terrorist operations in the kingdom or elsewhere,” according to an executive summary of the findings, which were released on the same day as the 28 pages.
The FBI would not comment for this story concerning those investigations.
The Saudi Embassy did not respond to CNN’s request for comment on the questions raised in the 28 pages regarding Bandar. A public relations firm that handles press for the embassy referred CNN to the findings of the 9/11 Commission and the 2005 joint CIA-FBI memo.
However, the 9/11 Commission report and the joint agency memo only offer blanket absolution of official Saudi involvement and do not reference the questions detailed in the 28 pages surrounding the phone numbers that indirectly seem to link Bandar to al-Qaeda.
Money trail
The 28 pages also raise questions about another possible link between Bandar and the attacks: the prince’s relationship with a Saudi national named Osama Bassnan, who was living in the United States on 9/11 and was investigated to determine if he helped two of the 9/11 hijackers. The declassified pages reveal previously undisclosed amounts of money that Bandar and his wife sent to the man’s family.
Bassnan, a former employee of the Saudi government’s Educational Mission in Washington, according to a 9/11 Commission document that cited information obtained by the FBI, lived across the street from two of the 9/11 hijackers in San Diego: Nawaf al Hazmi and Khalid al Mihdhar. Hazmi and Mihdhar were on the plane that crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon.
According to the same 9/11 Commission document, Bassnan admitted to an FBI asset that he met Hazmi and Mihdhar while the hijackers were in San Diego, then denied this in a subsequent conversation. There was some evidence that Bassnan may have had closer ties to the hijackers, though the FBI was not able to corroborate it.
Bassnan’s wife, meanwhile, received tens of thousands of dollars in monthly stipends from a Saudi charity run by Bandar’s wife, Princess Haifa al-Faisal. Bassnan’s wife was allegedly receiving the money as an allowance for “nursing services,” according to the 28 pages. The inquiry indicated it doubted that was what the payments were really for, though Bassnan repeatedly spoke of his wife’s “health problems” during interviews with investigators.
In a search of the Bassnan residence, the FBI found “copies of 31 cashiers checks totaling $74,000, during the period February 22, 1999, to May 30, 2002,” the 28 pages state.
On at least one occasion, Bassnan received a check for $15,000 directly from Bandar’s account, according to an FBI document cited in the pages. Bassnan’s wife also received at least one check directly from Bandar himself.
A former employee at the Saudi Embassy said that such financial arrangements were not unusual.
“It is very common for the government to help Saudi citizens, certainly in terms of providing medical assistance or support while they are abroad,” said Fahad Nazer, a scholar at the Arab Gulf States Institute and a political analyst at the Saudi Embassy while Bandar was the ambassador.
Bandar was known to give “a lot of money to charity,” according to Riedel and “was pretty notorious for lavish spending.”
“He gave some of the best parties Washington probably has ever had,” Riedel said.
The 9/11 Commission report, which does not mention the details of the donations, looked at whether the money from Bandar and his wife’s charity was passed on to the hijackers but found “no evidence” that it had.
Still, the FBI determined that at least some of the checks meant for Bassnan’s wife changed hands and were given to the wife of another Saudi man living in the United States, Omar al Bayoumi, who had direct ties to Hazmi and Mihdhar. Bayoumi helped the hijackers settle in San Diego when they arrived in the country around early 2000 by finding them an apartment and even co-signing their lease.
“Bayoumi’s wife attempted to deposit three of the checks from Bandar’s wife, which were payable to Bassnan’s wife, into her own accounts,” according to a passage from the 28 pages.
Despite Bayoumi’s association with the hijackers, the FBI determined in 2004 that Bayoumi did not have “advance knowledge of the terrorist attacks” or “knowledge of al-Hazmi’s and/or al-Mihdhar’s status as al-Qaeda operatives” or that “the assistance provided by al-Bayoumi to al-Hazmi and al-Mihdhar was wittingly.”
Could there be more to the story?
The allegations against Bandar and the other Saudi nationals in the 2002 Joint Inquiry were not meant to be “final determinations” on connections to the Saudi government, according to the report, which states it is “possible that further investigation of these allegations could reveal legitimate, and innocent, explanations for these associations.”
The 9/11 Commission report, which found no evidence of Saudi involvement in the plot, is viewed by the US government as the definitive investigation of the attacks.
“I don’t see on the basis of anything we have now that we should change those judgments,” Riedel said, referring to the 28 pages and Bandar’s mention in them.
“He had tremendous access to the White House. He had access to the CIA, Department of Justice, the Hill, media,” Riedel said. “I just find it stretches credulity that he would somehow be involved in a plot to attack the United States of America.”
Bandar enjoyed American culture while he was living in the United States, according to Riedel, including being an avid Dallas Cowboys and McDonalds fan.
“He used to go to a lot of games in Dallas. He is an avid McDonalds Big Mac fan. He often would order a Big Mac to be delivered to his residence in McLean, Virginia,” said Riedel. “What’s more American than the Dallas Cowboys and Big Macs?”
While the clues found in Zubaydah’s notebook seemingly never led to damning evidence tying the Saudi prince to al-Qaeda, Bandar’s name was mentioned again in 2014 when Zacarias Moussaoui, thought to be the 20th hijacker, claimed that Bandar was in an al-Qaeda donor database.
Moussaoui, who pleaded guilty in 2005 to six terror related charges, said he was tasked by Osama bin Laden with creating a digital database cataloging al-Qaeda’s donors. He made the allegations in a sworn statement contained in a brief submitted as part of an ongoing case in US courts by the families of 9/11 victims against Saudi Arabia.
Graham, the former senator that pushed to have the 28 pages declassified, thinks there’s enough to justify a closer look. Graham now wants the FBI and CIA documents pertaining to the questions raised in the 28 pages to be released as well.
“It’s going to now be the task to find out, did the … (9/11) commission, did the FBI, did the CIA, or any other entity of the United States government in fact do” a comprehensive inquiry into the Bandar connection?” Graham asked. “If so, what did they conclude in their further investigation?”

Obama’s fairy tales: Washington is defeating Daesh in Iraq, while Putin and Assad in Syria are defeating the Syrian people [but not the mercenary-terrorist gangs]

Behold, a Pale Horse and its Rider’s Name Was Death and Hell Followed Him

by Paul Craig Roberts
submitted by Lone Bear
I just listened to Obama give Washington’s account of the situation with ISIL in Iraq and Syria.
In Obama’s account, Washington is defeating ISIL in Iraq, but Russia and Assad are defeating the Syrian people in Syria. Obama denounced Russia and the Syrian government—but not ISIL—as barbaric. The message was clear: Washington still intends to overthrow Assad and turn Syria into another Libya and another Iraq, formerly stable and prosperous countries where war now rages continually.
It sickens me to hear the President of the United States lie and construct a false reality, so I turned off the broadcast. I believe it was a press conference, and I am confident that no meaningful questions were asked.
If Helen Thomas were still there, she would ask the Liar-in-Chief what went wrong with Washington’s policy in Iraq.
We were promised that a low-cost “cakewalk” war of three or six weeks duration would bring “freedom and democracy” to Iraq. Why is it that 13 years later Iraq is a hellhole of war and destruction?
What happened to the “freedom and democracy?” And the “Cakewalk”?
You can bet your life that no presstitute asked Obama this question.
No one asked the Liar-in-Chief why the Russians and Syrians could clear ISIL out of most of Syria in a couple of months, but Washington has been struggling for several years to clear ISIL out of Iraq. Is it possible that Washington did not want to clear ISIL out of Iraq because Washington intended to use ISIL to clear Assad out of Syria?
No one asked the Liar-in-Chief why Washington sent ISIL to Syria and Iraq in the first place, or why the Syrians and Russians keep finding US weapons In ISIL’s military depots, or why Washington’s allies were funding ISIL by purchasing the oil ISIL is stealing from Iraq.
It seems to be the case that ISIL originated in the mercenaries that Washington organized to overthrow Gaddafi in Libya and were sent to Syria to overthrow Assad when the UK Parliament refused to participate in Washington’s invasion of Syria and the Russians put a stop to it.
All of the violence in the Middle East, violence that has consumed countless lives and produced millions of war refugees now overrunning Washington’s NATO vassals in Europe, is 100 percent the fault of Washington, not the fault of ISIL, or Assad, or Russia. Washington and only Washington is to blame.
Washington produced this violence. Where is the question:
“Why, Mr. President, did Washington introduce 15 years of massive and ongoing violence into the Middle East and then expect us to believe that it was the fault of someone else?”
If Helen Thomas were there, she would ask the relevent questions. But the pussies that comprise the American press corps are merely an audience that validates the false reality spun by Washington by accepting it without question.
Meanwhile, Moscow and Beijing have understood the message. Washington intends war. The purpose of Washington’s lies is to prepare the insouciant Western peoples for war against the two countries that Washington cannot subjugate except by victory in war.
By faithful vassalage to Washington, Europe is bringing death and destruction to the world.

FIERCE BATTLE FOR RAMOUSEH ARTILLERY BASE AND INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT IN ALEPPO, MEANWHILE THE SAA ADVANCED IN LATTAKIA AND WEST GHOUTA

By Canthama “Exclusive to SyrPer”

Aleppo:
The last two days have been very challenging in the western front, a combined force of many terrorist factions have launched a “all at once” attack toward the Ramousehcorridor. This is on going battle so events are fluid.
It is important to understand the dynamics of this attack, the strategy has been to storm from both sides of the corridor, west-east-west, aiming to break the siege and with that cutting the western supply route to 1.5 million Syrians inside Aleppo, leaving only the eastern supply route newly opened at Al Mallah/Bani Zayd.
The terrorists’s offensive has started 7 days ago and managed to penetrate quickly toward the corridor, but it found hard to cross the artillery base defensive lines. That changed yesterday when the terrorists used multiple VBEIDs to storm the perimeter of the base. After 5 hours of fierce fighting the terrorists retreated after reporting very large casualties, but after few hours a second wave attacked late in the night and this time quickly advanced inside the military base complex, where in few hours they managed to hold positions inside the Armament College, the Ramouseh Artillery and Academy bases, while it seems, by early morning, the new front line has been settled between the Artillery base and the Airforce Technical Division.
Late at night, the Syrian High Command has taken the decision to divert large forces from the nearby fronts to counter the terrorists offensive and to push them back toward the previous front line, among them it was reported that the Tiger Forces have arrived sometime in morning while a large convoy sent from Al Hadher, southern Aleppo, was already engaging the enemy at the Airforce Technical Division, it seems the High Command decision proved decisive after all.
Map credit to Peto Lucem @PetoLucem
By midday, the terrorists inside eastern Aleppo have started their offensive east-west in other to force the split in the Syrian and allies forces and to speed up cutting theRamouseh supply route connecting with the fellow terrorists that were at the time inside the Artillery base. At that moment in time, many media channels were releasing news that the siege has been broken, many maps popped up and hundreds of tweets celebrating the terrorists supposed achievement.
But, the reality was very different, while the terrorists’s supporters were celebrating their supposed victory, some Syrian and Lebanese TV channels were reporting life from theRamouseh roundabout, a place the terrorists were claiming to be captured, besides, maybe unknown to the internet terrorist’s “cheer leaders” the attack from the besieged Aleppo was dying out under wave after wave of air attacks and Syrian forces unquestionable resistance, more attack waves are expected at anytime though.
Not one hour later, after most of the Syrian and allied reinforcements were engaging the enemy, the terrorists offensive lines started to break down one by one. At that moment the Syrian forces and allies have managed to take most of the Artillery Base back and partially the Armament College. The battle continues fiercely with the terrorists losing momentum, most likely we will see few more multiple VBIEDs used to hold the Syrian and allied forces counter offensive, as well as maybe a 3rd wave of attacks during the night. At the moment the losses are unknown from both sides, though it is recognized that the terrorists have sustained a very heavy blow, both in fighters and hardware.
A long night ahead for the Syrians in Aleppo as the battle promises to continue non stop.

Lattakia:
Since yesterday a major offensive has started aiming to liberate the key village of Kinsibba, during the day on Friday, the Shillif Castle was under control, while late at night the news arrived that the Desert Hawks, Sea Commandos, NDF and SAA have reportedly regained control of Qal’at Toubal, Wadi Basour and Talet Hussein, thus asserting fire control over Kinsibba. It is imperative to the allied forces to control Ain al Qantara when Kinsibba is liberated, or a counter attack is very likely.
Damascus: West Ghouta
In the past 3 days, some two square Kilometres were liberated inside Darayya, in what it seems the fastest advance in this dense urban area in the past 5 years. The terrorists inside Darayya have rejected surrendering and reconciliation a dozen times, and with limited food and ammo it seems the will continue to lose ground at the same pace.

Syrian Army, allies foil offensive of 5000 mercenary-terrorists on southwest Aleppo ~ [Related: terrorist commanders meet in Gaziantep and Ankara to discuss Aleppo strategy]

We can safely say it was the longest 5 hours yet of the Syrian War. So far the largest number of terrorists in a single attack around 5,000 terrorists belonging to 22 different terrorist groups coming from Idlib via Khan Touman attacked SAA’s positions in the Southwestern Countryside of Aleppo from 5 axes.
While terrorists under siege inside the Eastern side of Aleppo mobilized to attack the back of the defending troops against terrorists coming from Idlib.
Units of the Syrian Arab Army and allies maneuvered around the Artillery Academy. Anti-Armor units destroyed all terrorists suicide trucks before reaching their destination thus preventing terrorists from opening a hole in SAA’s defenses.
SyAAF and RuAF conducted non-stop airstrikes against advancing terrorists and their supply convoys. Also, conducted airstrikes near the SAA points at a very low altitude ~200 meters.
The terrorists’ attack was larger than the attack that captured Idlib and Jisr al-Shughour;
The Syrian Arab Army units and Allies foiled all the attacks successfully, and by the end terrorists tried to retreat toward Khan Touman under heavy SyAAF and RuAF fire.
More details of the battle will be posted in time; however, for now, we can only say: Heroes of the Artillery Academy, the 147th regiment, the 83rd battalion, the missile brigades, the anti-armor tank hunters, the republican guards, SyAAF intelligence operatives, tiger forces, and the list goes on: you are writing history, and creating victory.

Former Israeli Minister: Israelis to Visit Saudi Arabia Soon!

A former Israeli minister, part of an Israeli group that met with a Saudi delegation in Ramallah last month, said Israelis could be able to visit the Persian Gulf state “much sooner than you dream about.”
Netanyahu, SalmanIn a conference call Tuesday with British media hosted by the Britain Israel Communications and Research Centre, Rabbi Michael Melchior said the day when Israelis can travel to Saudi Arabia is “in the cards and it will, as we say Inshallah, ‘with god’s help,’ happen very soon.”
Melchior, a former Knesset member with the ‘One Israel’ party and former minister for Diaspora Affairs, said his meeting with the Saudis focused on ‘religious issues related to diplomacy between the two countries.’
Melchior, currently the chief rabbi of Norway, said:
“Religious peace is a way of using another language other than the secular language of the Arab peace plan… religious peace is a way of including those Mullahs who are not yet part of this thinking.”
Asked about Saudi Arabia’s record of promoting Takfiri extremism internationally, he said:
“We’re trying to go ahead with the positive side of this. Today there is a big part of the Sunni world — and also the Shia world — who want to be part of the world. Saudi Arabia is investing a lot in getting the Israelis to adopt the Arab peace plan, at least as a basis for negotiations.”
Melchior noted that, while the Saudi-Israeli meeting last month prompted condemnation from Iran and Hezbollah, “the Sunni Arab world has neither condemned nor supported it.”
An exception, he acknowledged, is the Arab-Israeli Hadash party, which condemned the visit as “part of the normalization of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Israel against Iran, Syria and resistance movements in the region” and Hamas.
“Even the Hamas condemnation was a very soft condemnation, they said it was not the right time for such a meeting but they didn’t really condemn it,” Melchior said.
During last month’s visit, the Saudi delegation, headed by former general Anwar Majed Eshki, met with Dore Gold, a veteran Israeli diplomat who is director-general of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among other Israeli officials as part of a Saudi attempt to normalize its ties with the Zionist entity.

Israel nuclear weapons: UK government loses file on its involvement with country's arsenal

The British Government  is very good at losing things...

Source: http://www.independent.co.uk/

More than 400 documents, including government files relating to the UK’s involvement in Israel’s  nuclear arsenal, have gone missing over the last four years, it has been revealed.
Notable missing files include 1970s documents on nuclear collaboration with Israel, as well as a letter from Winston Churchill.

The losses include more than 60 Foreign office files, over 40 Home office documents, and six from the records of former prime ministers.

The losses were revealed by a FoI request submitted by the BBC.

A 1979 document titled “Military and nuclear collaboration with Israel: Israeli nuclear armament”, is among the missing pieces.

Since the 1950s, Israel has retained a policy of nuclear ambiguity, neither publicly confirming nor denying whether it has a nuclear arsenal.

However, Israel is now thought to possess 80 nuclear warheads, built up as western governments have “played along with the policy of ‘opacity’”, as theGuardian’s Julian Borger puts it.
