If Americans Knew What Was Happening In Israel Their Views Would Change Overnight

If Americans Knew What Was Happening In Israel Their Views Would Change Overnight
If my fellow Americans understood the history of Israel and Palestine, their views would change overnight … and they would demand that Israel no longer be given unconditional support and blank checks to do whatever they want:

How Israel Uses Twitter, Facebook & Tinder to Legitimize Murder

Abby Martin cuts through the media narratives on the Israeli Palestinian conflict, going over the different ways Israel targets international audiences with ‘Hasbara’, a narrative that gives legitimacy to policies that have killed and displaced millions of Palestinian Arabs.

Israel and US Hit Self-Destruct

Traditional U.S. policies – backing Israel whatever it does and assuming the dollar will remain king – are facing new challenges as Israel shocks the global conscience with its war on Gaza and emerging economic powers consider a new reserve currency, notes Danny Schechter.

For years, the term “suicide bombers” has been synonymous with terrorist attacks, especially in Israel. The idea of a martyr willing to give his life for a cause while taking out an “enemy” became a feature of modern conflict especially with resistance movements confronting modern armies.

Oddly enough, the phrase, seems to have blown back today onto Israel itself, as its military engages in a much deadlier “suicide mission,” acting like Ahab in Melville’s Moby Dick determined to slay the monster whale while killing himself.

First, there are the costs to Israel’s economy from the current offensive against Gaza. With many major airlines canceling flights, the summer tourist season has been badly damaged.
Next, Deutsche Welle reports. “The conflict has so far cost Israel’s defense budget more than a billion shekels, some 200 million euros. Eitan Avriel of the business magazine ‘The Marker’ suspects that the army will reclaim this money from the government. more than a billion shekels, some 200 million euros.

“‘The government has already allocated 400 million shekels to support the communities living along the border with the Gaza Strip,’ says Eitan. However, the greatest loss is the decline in the gross national product, he stressed, pointing out that consumption has virtually halved.”
Needless to say, these costs are hardly as dire as the ones being suffered by the people of Gaza, an overcrowded city of 1.7 million that is being destroyed with a growing loss of life. Israel’s casualties are also on the rise.

The Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz reports: “The defense establishment has already presented a request for a supplemental allocation of a billion shekels to this year’s defense budget, as a result of the conflict. In addition, it is estimated that the economy has sustained another 1.2 billion shekels in economic damage in the form of losses suffered by businesses, lost workdays and direct physical damage sustained in Israel as a result of the hostilities.”

Third, Israel’s supporters seem more fanatic and irrational than ever, oblivious to the human costs of its “operation’ and eager to blame the victims of their bombers as “human shields” or legitimate targets. They are also worried about an Iraq replay: an invasion that looked like an easy victory at the start of the “operation” beginning, as it drags on, to look very different,  according to the Israeli writer Gilad Altzom:

“In spite of clear Israeli technological superiority and firepower, the Palestinian militants are winning the battle on the ground and they have even managed to move the battle to Israeli territory. In addition, the barrage of rockets on Tel Aviv doesn’t seem to stop.
“IDF’s defeat in Gaza leaves the Jewish State with no hope. The moral is simple. If you insist on living on someone else’s land, military might is an essential ingredient to discourage the dispossessed from acting to reclaim their rights. The level of IDF casualties and the number of bodies of Israeli elite soldiers returning home in coffins send a clear message to both Israelis and Palestinians. Israeli military superiority belongs to the past. There is no future for the Jews-only-State in Palestine; they may have to try somewhere else.”

Commenting on this notion of an Israeli defeat, Marc Ellis writes: “this analysis rests on the assumption that Israel goes to war to win – as in defeat the enemy once and for all. This assumption is false. No Israeli military analyst thinks Israel will win the Gaza war in the traditional sense of that term. Rather Israel goes to war to buy time, to further de-develop Palestinian society and to go about its business elsewhere, say in the West Bank.”

That sounds convincing, except every war produces unanticipated impacts and consequences. Remember how our “victory” over the Soviet Union in Afghanistan in the 1980s by the arming the mujahedeen resulted in warlords destroying the country with 50,000 dead and led to the rise of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda?

The madness of the suicidal war in Gaza is playing itself out on every TV screen (except those in Great Britain and the U.S., which sanitize the horrors). Before it’s over, it will surely further harm Israel’s standing in the world as well as the image of its patron, the United States.
While Washington is busy lecturing Russia on a loss of human life in that plane crash (whose cause has yet to be determined by any impartial body), the U.S. is enabling the deadly Israeli bombardment targeting civilians, and now, after so much damage has been done, claim to want to stop it.

In Geneva, the UN has reopened the question of war crimes that never seem to be prosecuted when it comes to Israel, of course, to give the appearance of neutrality. Hamas is also criticized as if the massive violence of the invader and the pathetic response of the victim can be equated.

World Crunch reports: “UN human rights commissioner Navi Pillay opened the meeting [of the UN Human Rights Commission], charging that Israel may be committing war crimes in Gaza, where its punitive house demolitions and killing of children raise the ‘strong possibility’ that it is violating international law, according to AFP.” Predictably, and for good PR, she also condemned Hamas for its “indiscriminate attacks.”

As the war wars on, few in the media bother to ask what else may be at stake. Nafeez Ahmad explains in the Guardian: “Since the discovery of oil and gas in the Occupied Territories, resource competition has increasingly been at the heart of the conflict, motivated largely by Israel’s increasing domestic energy woes.”

Mark Turner, founder of the Research Journalism Initiative, reported that the siege of Gaza and ensuing military pressure was designed to “eliminate” Hamas as “a viable political entity in Gaza” to generate a “political climate” conducive to a gas deal.

Now, Gaza has something more in common than bloodletting with the Ukraine: gas. As Europe is prodded by the U.S. into backing harsh new sanctions on Russia, Germany is already threatened with a potential loss of 25,000 jobs.

Quiet as its kept — and it is being kept quiet — Wall Street is furious over the new BRICS bank initiative to challenge American dominance of the global economy. Could that be related to why Obama is furiously trying to punish Putin? We may never know since no one in the media seems to be investigating.

Meanwhile, The Telegraph is reporting: “The Dollar’s 70 year old dominance is coming to an end,” adding:

“To understand politics and power it pays to follow the money. And for the past 70 years, the dollar has ruled the roost.  This won’t change anytime soon. Something just took place, though, which illustrates that dollar reserve currency status won’t last forever and could be seriously diluted. Last week, seven decades on from Bretton Woods, the governments of Brazil, Russia, India and China led a conference in the Brazilian city of Fortaleza to mark the establishment of a new development bank that, whatever diplomatic niceties are put on it, is intent on competing with the IMF and World Bank.

“America’s GDP, incidentally, was $16.8 trillion on World Bank numbers, and China’s was $16.2 trillion – within a whisker of knocking the US off its perch. The balance of global economic power is on a knife-edge. Tomorrow is almost today.”

So now, let’s add economic suicide to the list of what we have to worry about. Which suicide hotline should we call?

Yatsenyuk Resigns In Ukraine, Kiev Coup Collapses, New ‘Elections’

Ukraine’s Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk Resigns! His far right wing fascist government is so unpopular, it fell suddenly. While the Chocolate King tried desperately to lure the US into a war with Russia, he suddenly gave up. Meanwhile, Obama, reading script written by Zionist fascists, has dropped the ‘Putin shot down the civilian plane’ for ‘Putin is FIRING ON UKRAINE. Even with the CIA puppet regime collapsing, they are keeping up the warmongering.

What’s that bad smell?

This is a clear example of the childish, silly, name-calling, double standard US diplomacy which has become a running joke internationally.  No one can take the US seriously.  Germany and England, having learned nothing from WWI and WWII, have decided to stir this witches’ brew and get WWIII for some idiotic reason.  But Germany’s elites are now getting cold feet due to dim memories of Berlin burning.

This playing with fire to launch WWIII is highly dangerous as NATO is most likely using a Poland base in order to be prepared for blitz against Russia!  Meanwhile, European rights court condemns Poland for hosting secret CIA prisons thanks to everyone eager to help the fascists in the US break international laws and commit war crimes.

The plane that fell out of the sky over Mali is a reminder that we are in, like in September-January of 2001, in a period of many planes crashing including the Taiwan plane crash kills 48 and injures 10.   And this plane crash week had this event: Haris Suleman, teen attempting world flight record, killed in Pacific Ocean as daddy and child tried this tiresome publicity stunt.  Very similar to the Girl, 7, Seeking U.S. Flight Record, Dies in Crash ten years ago.

Well, our diplomacy in Ukraine is also crashing.  But then, it is totally being incinerated in Gaza, too.  There will be a demonstration in Manhattan on Saturday in front of the Israeli embassy.  Since all the NY politicians are Zionists or owned by AIPAC or rich Jewish donors, I expect all of these to be out in force to denounce anyone protesting the butchery.

But then, the people of Eastern Ukraine and Palestine are supposed to be disarmed and suppressed!  They have zero right to defend themselves nor does Russia according to the insane imperialist Zionists.

US media bans encourage Israel war crimes: Analyst

The US government’s restrictions on media with regards to Zionists are encouraging the Israeli regime to accelerate its war crimes against Palestinians, an analyst writes for Press TV.

“Israeli war crimes in Gaza… are enabled by the United States, Israel’s biggest backer on the world stage,” Kevin Barrett wrote in a column for the Press TV website.

He said Americans have no freedom to think and speak freely about Zionism, adding, “Why does the US support Israel? Because Americans have been robbed of the freedom to think and speak freely about Zionism…. If Americans knew the horrors that the Zionists have inflicted… on Palestine... the bloody Zionist experiment would face its final reckoning.”

Emphasizing that the Zionist regime is accelerating “war crimes in Gaza” against the backdrop of Washington’s restrictions on any media criticism of Israel, the analyst said the Israeli “crimes are enabled” by Washington, which never nudges from its unflinching support for Tel Aviv.
“Yet in the self-styled Land of the Free, an ‘apartheid wall of censorship’ blocks the free expression of anti-Zionist arguments,” he wrote.

Barrett said any American newspaper or broadcast outlet allowing an “anti-Zionist voice to be heard” will face consequences, adding, “Americans must never hear anything but the pro-Zionist sermons the mainstream media continually inflicts on them. Alternative views are forbidden.”

Latest figures show the death toll from fresh Israeli aerial and ground attacks against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip has risen to nearly 830.

Palestinian Health Ministry said on Friday that over 5,200 people have been injured since the start of the Israeli offensive on July 8.

According to UN estimates, the majority of victims are civilians. More than 190 children are among the casualties.

Israeli Police: Hamas Not behind Abduction of Three Settlers

Local Editor

Israeli Police spokesman said that the Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, was not behind the alleged abduction of three settlers last month, after nearly three weeks of brutal offensive against Gaza under the pretext of this issue.

In a Friday interview with the state-run BBC, Israeli Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld acknowledged that the kidnappers were not acting under the orders of the resistance movement.

Israeli settlers who were allegedly abducted in June
He out any links between the men responsible for the murdering of the three teenagers and Hamas, saying they are part of a “lone cell.”

Israeli forces killed several Palestinians and arrested hundreds of others, including Hamas members and lawmakers, as part of the search for the three settlers, whom Israel claimed went missing in the West Bank on June 12.

Hamas had denied involvement in the alleged disappearance of the teens.
On June 30, Israel confirmed that the three Israeli settlers were dead and their bodies were buried in a field near the village of Halhul north of the city of al-Khalil (Hebron) in the West Bank.

A day after the funeral of the three teenagers, Israeli settlers abducted and burned alive 17-year-old Palestinian Mohammad Abu Khdeir in the West Bank in retaliation for the incident.

One of the main reasons that Israel launched its new war on Gaza was the Zionist entity’s accusations against Hamas over the alleged kidnapping issue.

How an USA UN veto could be bypassed to stop the genocide

Under the resolution 377A(V), “Uniting for peace”, adopted by the General Assembly on 3 November 1950, an “emergency special session” can be convened within 24 hours:
“Resolves that if the Security Council, because of lack of unanimity of the permanent members, fails to exercise its primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security in any case where there appears to be a threat to the peace, breach of the peace, or act of aggression, the General Assembly shall consider the matter immediately with a view to making appropriate recommendations to Members for collective measures, including in the case of a breach of the peace or act of aggression the use of armed force when necessary, to maintain or restore international peace and security. If not in session at the time, the General Assembly may meet in emergency special session within twenty-four hours of the request therefor. Such emergency special session shall be called if requested by the Security Council on the vote of any seven members, or by a majority of the Members of the United Nations”.

US supplies the zionist terror state with weapons to carry out genocide in Gaza

The United States exported to Israel a substantial amount of the same types of weapons Israel is using to kill Gazans, a new analysis of US Census Bureau export data reveals. For example, in 2013, the United States sent Israel at least $196 million in parts for military airplanes and helicopters, a category that includes F-16 fighter jets and Apache helicopters, both of which Israel is currently using to attack Gazan homes, offices and farmland. Between January and May 2014, the United States had already exported $92 million in parts for military airplanes and helicopters.
The military airplanes and helicopters that the United States sent comprise the largest category, in dollar terms, of all weapons exports to Israel that are publicly available via the US Census Bureau (see charts).
2014.7.22.Israel.Graph.2
2014.7.22.Israel.Graph.1
The United States also sent Israel parts for armored fighting vehicles and ammunition cartridges. For example, between January and May 2014, the United States exported $39 million in parts of armored fighting vehicles, a category that includes M109 Doher Howitzers, which Israel has used against targets in Gaza. As for the ammunition cartridges, the United States shipped well over $9 million of these during the same time period.
Even as the US government claims to want to broker a ceasefire, it continues facilitating weapons exports to Israel. On July 14, the same day President Obama vowed that “We’re going to continue to do everything we can to facilitate a return to the 2012 ceasefire,” the State Department approved a possible $544 million sale of AIM-9x sidewinder missiles and associated support services to Israel. These missiles can be used by F-16s to hit ground targets.
Official US military aid to Israel stands at about $3 billion per year due to a 10-year, $30 billion military aid package originally signed by former President George W. Bush and upheld under President Obama. This figure doesn’t, however, include the $504 million in funding dedicated to missile defense.
Truthout asked Andrew Feinstein, former Member of Parliament in South Africa and currently an Open Society Institute fellow, to elaborate on the accuracy of official aid estimates. He replied:
In reality, published military aid figures tend to be significant understatements. “Official” military aid figures tend to be the obvious direct aid given for military purchases, which usually have to be purchased from the donor country. They tend to exclude various other forms of aid that are linked to defense, such as training; maintenance, repairs and spare parts funding; research and development support; weaponry for special actions; black ops payments (as used, for example, to arm the mujahedeen in Afghanistan for many years); internal security funding; and a range of unspecified funding from a variety of departments.
Israel is the only country allowed to use its US military aid to build its domestic military industry, a privilege that includes developing indigenous weapons systems based on US designs and using US grants to purchase materials, as well as research and development, from Israeli firms. Additional US funds are spent on joint military research and production. Israel also enjoys “fast-track” status for weapons sales, meaning it can make deals directly with manufacturers in the US without having to go through the Pentagon.
The billions of dollars in US military aid to Israel have bought a stunning array of US weapons and military hardware for the IDF, including 226 F-16 fighter jets, more than 700 M-60 tanks, 6,000 armored personnel carriers, scores of transport planes, attack helicopters and utility and training aircraft, not to mention innumerable bombs and tactical missiles of all kinds.
Israel has come under criticism for bombing medical facilities and news media buildings, and also for its failure to prevent civilian casualties. Truthout asked Richard Falk, former UN special rapporteur on Palestinian human rights, what he thought an appropriate response from the international community might be. He replied:
[Israel] shows no sign of respecting the wishes of the international community at this time for an immediate ceasefire. So I think that the only way the world can show that it’s at all serious about protecting vulnerable peoples – in this case the Palestinians – would be to impose an arms embargo.
Falk also pointed out that the US weapons exports to Israel violate the Arms Control Act of 1976. “There’s no legal, political or moral argument that would uphold the claim that Israel is acting in legitimate self-defense,” Falk said. “Gaza, from an international law point of view, is not a foreign state, but an occupied territory. It’s not clear that you can exercise self-defense in relation to a territory that you are responsible for administering in accordance with international humanitarian law.”
The United States also provides substantial weapons aid to Egypt’s new military regime, led by Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who has exacerbated the crisis in Gaza. Sisi, who rose to power after a military coup in July 2013, quickly oversaw the destruction of approximately80 percent of tunnels running between Gaza and Egypt. These tunnels are an economic lifeline for Gazans, who rely on them for medicine, fuel, food and other necessities; furthermore, an estimated 40 percent of the Gazan government’s revenue flows through these tunnels. The destruction of the tunnels is thought to be contributing to seriousshortages of medical supplies and crucial medicines, since Israel’s bombing of Gaza began on July 8. During Israel’s 2012 offensive the tunnels served as an important way for medical supplies to be brought into Gaza.
“The Sisi government is determined to destroy the Muslim Brotherhood and they view Hamas as an extension of the Brotherhood,” Falk said. “So [the Sisi government is] in a certain way on the same side as Israel on this particular confrontation.”

Real jihad is in Palestine

Smoke billows from a building in Gaza following and Israeli air assault.
Smoke billows from a building in Gaza following and Israeli air assault.

Mon Jul 21, 2014 5:53AM GMT

As of Sunday, Israel was killing Palestinians at a rate of more than 100 per day. Most of the victims are civilians, including large numbers of children, who are being intentionally targeted.

As US Secretary of State John Kerry sarcastically blurted out, it is "one hell of a pinprick operation" when Israel calls in airstrikes to murder little boys playing soccer on the beach.

The current massacre is just the latest episode in a six-decade-long slow-motion genocide. Israel is trying to remove the vast majority of Palestinians from Palestine, by killing some of them and making life impossible for the others. As international law professor Francis Boyle argued at the Kuala Lumpur Tribunal in Malaysia almost one year ago: "The Palestinians have been the victims of genocide as defined by the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide."

In August 2013, the tribunal found Israel guilty of genocide. Perhaps that is why Malaysian planes keep falling out of the sky.

Who is going to stop the Palestinian genocide?

The West is owned by Zionist criminal oligarchs. The United Nations is helpless. Christians have been guilt-tripped into believing that they owe the Zionists a genocide – as long as it is perpetrated against somebody else.

China is too far away and concerned with its sphere of influence. India is occupied by the Zionists who have taken over RAW, the Indian intelligence agency. Russia has its own problems with powerful Zionist oligarchs and their Nazi stooges and thugs. Latin America is too busy trying to free itself from Uncle Sam...and yes, there are Zionist oligarchs there too.
So the only thing standing between Palestine and genocide is the world's nearly two billion Muslims.

Palestine has been Islamic holy land, administered and protected by Muslims, since 636 CE – which corresponds to the 15th year of the Islamic calendar. Essentially, Palestine has been ruled by Muslims, justly and equitably for the most part, for as long as Islam has existed. It is the duty of every Muslim to protect Palestine, including the Christian and Islamic holy sites.

So where are those two billion Muslims – who outnumber the genocidal settlers in Occupied Palestine 400-to-1 ?

They are being divided, distracted and debilitated by Zionist propaganda...and by the treason of their own rulers.

The Persian Gulf states, led by Saudi Arabia, could stop the genocide. Saudi Arabia has a pivotal role in global oil production. The biggest player in OPEC, Saudi Arabia could easily launch another oil embargo like the one in 1973...only this time for real. Unfortunately, the Kingdom's current rulers apparently value their sybaritic lifestyles above the lives of Palestinian children and the sanctity of Islamic holy sites. Many of them are in bed with the Zionists, literally and figuratively.

The governments of other Muslim countries aren't much better. Of all the Muslim-majority nations, only Iran (and to a lesser extent Syria and Malaysia) is taking serious risks to help the Palestinians defend themselves, and to broadcast the truth about Palestine to the world.

So why are so many self-styled “jihadis” attacking Iran – and the friends of Iran in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq?! In essence these "jihadis" are serving in the Israeli army. Mind-controlled CIA-Mossad stooge Caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi – or whatever he is calling himself this week – is the de facto head of the Israeli military's Foreign Legion.

Likewise, in Pakistan, the Zionist-controlled Indian intelligence agency RAW has created a fake insurgency of "Pakistani Taliban." Some deluded Pakistani Taliban foot-soldiers, like al-Baghdadi's followers, imagine themselves jihadis fighting to purify Islam. They have a funny way of purifying Islam: killing their fellow Muslims with weapons provided by Zionists and CIA agents like Raymond Davis, who was captured in Pakistan staging "Pakistani Taliban" terrorism.

Pakistani defense analyst and popular TV host Zaid Hamid explains that these fake jihadis are tools of the West's fourth generation warfare against Islam and Muslims. Fourth generation warfare – the brainchild of William S. Lind and other American and Zionist strategists – uses synthetic insurgencies and false flag terrorism to achieve military and political objectives. The doyens of fourth generation warfare have steered the concept of "jihad" away from its traditional Islamic just-war-doctrine foundations, toward Takfiri terrorism and other counterproductive (to the Muslims) tactics.

So when "Caliph" al-Baghdadi says he doesn't really care about Palestine, he just wants to kill Shi'a Muslims, recalcitrant traditional Muslims, and Christians, he is waging a very strange kind of "jihad"...a very ZIONIST kind of "jihad."

The Qur'an says that God hates aggressors; it tells us that when an enemy "drives you out of your homes" it is time to wage defensive jihad. (Note that the word jihad includes the primary meaning of "striving, effort" to be a better person, alongside the secondary meaning of striving to be a better person by risking your life standing up for justice and defending your community.)
The Israelis are systematically murdering Palestinians and driving them out of their homes and have been doing so for more than half a century. Palestine is Islamic holy land. There has never been a more clear-cut case of legitimate defensive jihad.

I am not an Islamic scholar. I have an Islamic Studies related Ph.D. from a secular American university. I am not highly qualified to interpret scripture.

But this issue is a no-brainer. Anyone who had read the Qur'an with a scintilla of understanding, anyone with the faintest acquaintance with just war theory, anyone who even remotely comprehends that our God-given human nature loathes aggression and authorizes self-defense, knows that not just every Muslim, but every human being with a conscience is required to help the Palestinians defend themselves against genocidal Zionist aggression.

What's more, this one is winnable. A wedge can be driven between the psychotic über-Zionists and the slightly more rational realists who hold power in the West. If we work hard enough, and fight hard enough, we can force the West to acquiesce in the liberation of Palestine. Five million cannot hold out against two billion forever. Like apartheid South Africa in the 1980s, Zionist Israel today is approaching its expiration date.

There are fake jihads happening all over the world...Takfiri jihads, fourth generation warfare jihads, imperialist-sponsored divide-and-conquer jihads. These misguided spasms of pointless violence are libels on the noble word "jihad" – a word the Zionist-dominated Western media has dragged through the mud.

To hell with all the fake jihads. The real jihad is in Palestine.
Onward to victory.
