An Apology For Lord Janner’s Child Abuse Is Overdue

By Gilad Atzmon
The British press reported yesterday that Lord Greville Janner (who passed away last month) was not properly investigated by police for allegations of child abuse and buggery (anal intercourse and bestiality). An independent review has found that The Crown Prosecution Service failed in its responsibility to bring charges against the peer 25 years ago.
The Telegraph wrote “Sir Richard Henriques, a retired High Court judge, found a series of failures in a review of the CPS’s handling of past allegations relating to the Labour peer.”  Sir Richard went as far as describing such police neglect as “remarkable.”
The report found that in 1991 there was sufficient evidence against Lord Janner to provide a realistic prospect of conviction for offences of indecent assault and buggery against a 14-year-old boy, known as “Complainant 1”.
There was also sufficient evidence to prosecute Lord Janner in 2007 for indecent assault and buggery (again) Sir Richard found, adding that the peer should have been arrested and interviewed and his home searched.
The Daily Telegraph and other press outlets list the sex abuse allegations against Lord Janner, a 27 year Labour MP. But there is one thing The Telegraph and other British press outlets fail to mention. They omit the fact that at the time Lord Janner was allegedly sexually abusing young British orphans, sometimes, actually in his marital bed, he was the head of the British Jewish community.
Between 1978 and 1984 Lord Janner was the chairman of Board of Deputies of British Jews, a body with claims to represent British Jewry.  And while inflicting shoah on British orphans, Lord Janner was a prominent advocate of Holocaust education. He was the Chairman of the Holocaust Educational Trust, the President of the Commonwealth Jewish Council, and Vice President of the World Jewish Congress.
At the least, all these prominent Jewish organisations ought to issue an apology or at least admit to gross misjudgement in letting a person who was a suspected paedophile remain a leader of prominent Jewish institutions for almost five decadesWould the English church enjoy such impunity? Would the British Muslim community get away with any of its leaders being associated with buggery and paedophilia? I’ll let you ponder this one.
We have become inured to watching the Jewish state get away with racist policies, murder, ethnic cleansing, WMD and so on. But here in Britain, it is astonishing, yet far from being surprising,  that the head of the Jewish communitymanaged to escape trial for decades over substantive charges of sexual assault, paedophilia and buggery.
If Jewish power is the capacity to silence the discussion of Jewish power, in the case of Lord Janner, it also managed to delete the fact that Britain’s suspected arch sex offender was also the leader of the Jewish community.

TERRORISTS LEAVE SOUTH DAMASCUS IN HUMILIATING TRUCE; RATS WHACKED AND ASSASSINATED IN IDLIB/HAMA; SYRIAN AIR FORCE DEMOLISHES ISIS IN DAYR EL-ZOR

عودة نحو 500 عائلة إلى منطقة القدم جنوب دمشق
DAMASCUS:

Al-Qadam Suburb:  This area was once infested with the plague of ISIS, inter alia.   Today, it is free.  The Syrian Army has welcomes over 500 families during the last 3 days as they were shipped in to their homes by 25 government-provided buses.  The agreement to vacate this suburb was a degrading one for the terrorist rats and their Saudi cockroach handlers.  They had to leave all weapons behind and head to Al-Raqqa where they would ingather in advance of the Syrian Army push to exterminate them all at one time.  Also, as part of the agreement, those citizens who cooperated with the ISIS rodents would be granted amnesty on one condition:  that they join the PDC and fight the terrorists infecting the country.  They have agreed to do exactly that.

Yarmouk Camp and Al-Hajar Al-Aswad:  ISIS is leaving its positions here also, although there remains a stumbling block with Nusra/Alqaeda.  Whatever the case, Nusra’s military position is compromised irrevocably now since Palestinian fighters, themselves, can extract the remaining vermin with little support from the Syrian Army.  The fighters who will take up ISIS positions here are from the neighboring areas of Baldaa, Bayt Sahm and Babeelaa.

IDLIB/HAMA:

درعا-قتلى-ارهابيين-في-درعا
Between the German Camp and Al-Sirmaaniyya:  The SAA supported by the air force killed 12 Jaysh Al-Fath terrorist vultures here and destroyed an armored car. After a military assessment of the area, these were the only Syrians:
Ibraaheem Hussayn Khammaash
Muhammad ‘Abdul-Qaader Al-Sirhaan
Wadhdhaah Amjad ‘Eedu

Areehaa Area:  The SAA-MI people never sleep.  After pursuing 2 main Nusra/Alqaeda figures for days, 2 MI agents, dressed like the terrorists, on motorcycles drove in the direction of Ayaad Al-‘Adl (Justice Dispenser?, a/k/a “Abu ‘Ateeq”) and his aide, Muhammad ‘Abdul-Wahhaab (a/k/a “Abu Haazim”) and sprayed them with lead.  To make sure they were dead, the agents dropped a grenade on them for good measure.

Hazaan Town:  An SAA commando unit assassinated one terrorist called “Al-Shaykh Al-Ghaali” (id pending) and 19 others with him in this area on the Baab AlHawaa Road which leads straight to Antioch in Turk Occupied Syria.

Kafr ‘Uwayd:  This is 20kms west of Ma’arrat Al-Nu’maan.  The SAA assassinated another terrorist commander in Harakat Ahraar Al-Shaam Al-Islamiyya:
Hassan Ba’rabbu

Kinsafraa:  SAA artillery in the Areehaa area devastated Jaysh Al-Nasr headquarters and c&c center at a tiny village called Al-Mawzara.  No other details available.

Shahshabu Mountain:  SAA blasted a Ahraar Al-Shaam HQ and another one for Jaysh Al-Nasr.  As the terrorists were being sauted in Hell-fire, army cannons also struck a warehouse brimming with rockets, mortars and 3 vehicles, all provided by the Saudi rodents.

Latmeen Village:  To the southeast.  Tajammu’ Al-‘Izza, a group known for its exclusively foreign make-up, saw 2 of its pickups with 14.5mm cannons destroyed.  This group is openly trained by the Turks.

Lihaayaa Village:  A Jaysh Al-Fath c&c, monitoring stations and safe house were all destroyed by SAA artillery.

Hurr bi-Nafsihi and Talaf villages were all the targets of SAAF bombers over South Hama.

DAYR EL-ZOR:

55
The ISIS assault on the city of Dayr El-Zor failed.  It’s as simple as that.  Using over 30 suicide bombers driving expensive trucks resulted in successful suicides, only.  The Saudi plan was to break into areas such as the Workers’ and Industrial Quarters.  Attacks on the DZ AB were even more dismally repelled with our soldiers demonstrating vast experience in defending the base whilst our air force continues to fly reconnaissance over rodent positions exposing their every moven to the field commanders.  Russian satellite Intel is also shared generously with the SAA General Staff.
The SAAF and RuAF are flying multiple missions over these areas today: Al-Jab’ah, Al-Junayniyya, Al-Bughayliyya (fortifications destroyed), Al-Jafra, Haawi Khareeta, Zurayr, Muhaymida.  At ‘Ayyaash, yesterday, the SAAF destroyed a reported 11 pickups with 23mm cannons.
_______________________________________________________
LATAKIA:  Make no mistake about it, the rodents in this province are a disappearing species.  For the last 2 months, they have seen all their fortifications and revetments turned into piles of dust.  And now, we are only hours away from the complete liberation of this region as the army prepares a full frontal assault on Al-Rubay’ah.  And so the saga continues.  The SAA has liberated these new areas:
Al-Baraadoon Dam and Al-Baraadoon Hills
‘Ayn Al-Hawr (Liberated yesterday by the SAA northwest of Salmaa after artillery pounded the rodents into mincemeat)
Al-Ghunayma Village:  Now completely liberated north of ‘Ayn Al-Hawr.
Al-Kaaluksi Mountain
Kitf Al-Qaamoo’
Al-Qalaayi’
Bayt Sukkar
Al-‘Uwaynaat
Khaan Al-Jawz
Bayt Reehaa
Burj Rahmaliyya
And a major terrorist brigade known for electronic warfare

Biden: Turkey Not Setting Right Example on Freedom of Expression

US Vice President Joe Biden on Friday strongly criticized Turkey for failing to set the right "example" on freedom of expression, following the imprisonment of journalists and investigation of academics who criticized government policy.

US Vice President Joe BidenBiden said Turkey's most recent record in freedom of expression under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is "not the kind of example that needs to be set".

Speaking at a meeting with civil society representatives in Istanbul, Biden said the United States wanted to see Turkey set a "strong example" for the whole region of what a "vibrant democracy" means.

"The more Turkey succeeds, the stronger the message sent to the entire Middle East and parts of the world who are only beginning to grapple with the notion of freedom," said Biden.

But he lamented recent developments in Turkey, which have seen the imprisonment since November 26 of the Cumhuriyet daily editor-in-chief Can Dundar and its Ankara bureau chief Erdem Gul on charges of revealing classified information.

Meanwhile, prosecutors have launched a vast investigation against more than 1,200 academics who signed a petition criticizing the military crackdown in the Kurdish-dominated southeast.

Some two dozen academics were detained for questioning and while all were released, they remain under investigation.

Meanwhile, the government has also gained notoriety for ordering blocks on YouTube, Twitter and other social networks during times of crisis.

"When the media are intimidated or imprisoned for critical reporting, when Internet freedom is curtailed and social media sites like YouTube or Twitter are shut down, and more than 1,000 academics are accused of treason simply by signing a petition, that's not the kind of example that needs to be set," said Biden.

The US vice president, who arrived in Istanbul on Thursday night, is due to meet Erdogan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu for critical talks on Saturday.

Syria - Some Preliminary Positioning For An Endgame

Moon of Alabama

When the Russian campaign in Syria started Obama promised that it would end in a quagmire. Various media and opinion writer picked up that narrative. It was false as Russia was and is executing a well thought out campaign.

Being confronted with reality the U.S. media is now changing its false narrative. The LA Times writes:
The Latakia attack mirrors similar government gains across the country, as forces loyal to President Bashar Assad, backed by Russian air power, have been on the offensive.
...
It's a dramatic shift for the forces of Assad, who less than six months ago had warned supporters that the government would have to "give up areas" after a string of humiliating setbacks.
...
The gains have strengthened the government's position in the run-up to Syrian peace negotiations scheduled to begin next week in Geneva.
The Obama administration and its anti-Syrian allies had hoped for a defeated Syrian government in Geneva that would agree to their capitulation conditions. They now have to change the narrative. Peace talks in Geneva, they now argue, can not take place because the Syrian government is winning. Headlines the Washington Post - Russian airstrikes are working in Syria — enough to put peace talks in doubt:
[A]fter 3½ months of relentless airstrikes that have mostly targeted the Western-backed opposition to Assad’s rule, they have proved sufficient to push beyond doubt any likelihood that Assad will be removed from power by the nearly five-year-old revolt against his rule. The gains on the ground are also calling into question whether there can be meaningful negotiations to end a conflict Assad and his allies now seem convinced they can win.
“The situation on the ground in Syria is definitely not conducive to negotiations right now,” said Lina Khatib of the Paris-based Arab Reform Initiative think tank.
The Arab Reform Initiative is a bastard child of the U.S./Middle East Project,
Inc. and various Middle East dictatorships. The Middle East Project was founded by Henry Siegman, a former National Director of the American Jewish Congress and has various hawkish U.S. politicians like Scowcroft and Brzezinski as its senior advisers.

In their view the Syrian government has to be regime changed and can not be allowed to win. Negotiations will have to be put off until the government is likely to fall. Thus the U.S./Saudi/Turkish controlled "opposition" of militant Islamists wants to exclude the Kurds and non-militant opposition from any negotiations and sets additional conditions that make negotiations impossible. They practically demand that Russia and Syria declare and keep a one-sided ceasefire before any ceasefire negotiations can happen.

In the meantime various parties are positioning themselves for the larger endgame. The Kurds in Syria want a corridor along the Turkish Syrian border to connect their areas in the east with the Kurdish enclave in the west. They are fighting against The U.S. supported gangs north-west of Aleppo with Russian support and with Russian and U.S. support against Islamic State gangs north-east of Aleppo. The U.S. is invading Syrian ground and building an airport in the Kurdish areas in east Syria. This probably to later support and guarantee an oil-rich Kurdish state:
The airport, known as “Abu Hajar”, lies southeast of the town of Remelan, site of one of Syria’s largest oilfields, run by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units, which sells its production through Iraqi Kurdistan.
The Russians may counter that move with their own airport in the area.

Israel, which buys most of the Kurdish oil and just again made friend with Turkey, is now officially calling for an independent Kurdish state. The Turks will not like that at all.
Turkey wants to prevent a Kurdish corridor along its border. It has instigated the "Turkmen" insurgents in Syria under its control to attack the Islamic State from their Aleppo-Avaz-Turkey corridor towards the east right along the border fence where Turkey can provide artillery support. That campaign stalled after a few days and several captured towns are now back in the hands of the Islamic State. New Turkish equipment and soldiers arrived on the Turkish border near the Jarablus border crossing which is currently in the hand of the Islamic State. It is the Islamic State's only open crossing to a somewhat friendly state.
Should the Kurds come near to that crossing Turkey is likely to invade Syria to set up a wider buffer against the Syrian Kurds.

In Iraq the Turks continue to occupy bases in Iraqi Kurdistan under the protection of the Iraqi-Kurdish mafia boss Barzani. This despite threats from the Iraqi government. But that government is now again controlled by the U.S. The Iranian influence had waned after clashes between the Iranian General Suleiman and the U.S. installed Prime Minister Abadi:
A source in the office of the Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi said, “The United States delay of its support to Baghdad was not a coincidence or an unintentional lazy reaction. It was a strategic decision to: Teach Iraq a lesson for rejecting U.S military bases; To observe the Iranian military capability and inability of Tehran to use air power and intelligence gathering to defeat ISIS; To submit Baghdad to its will and dictate its conditions”.
That the U.S. used the ISIS phenomenon to again achieve regime change and U.S. control in Iraq was confirmed by Obama in an interview with Thomas Friedman:
The reason, the president added, “that we did not just start taking a bunch of airstrikes all across Iraq as soon as ISIL came in was because that would have taken the pressure off of [Prime Minister Nuri Kamal] al-Maliki. ...
But all those U.S. games are just short term thinking. The Kurdish areas in Iraq and Syria are landlocked and none of their direct neighbors has interest in a Kurdish state. After his mandate ran out and was not renewed by the parliament Barzani's presidency in Iraqi Kurdistan is illegitimate. The next ruler in the Kurdish areas in Iraq is likely to be less friendly with Turkey and the U.S. In Iraq the influence of Iran with the people will always be bigger than U.S. influence with parts of the elite. In Syria it is Russia that will dictate how the future of the state will look.

In the long run the U.S. has little chance to keep its currently regained dominant position. Obama is repeating his predecessors mistake of believing that U.S. meddling in the arena can be successful and continue forever.

The Islamic State is receding. It recently had to cut its wages by half. It is under continues bombing and has to fight ever bigger battles with ever higher losses. The population in the areas it holds is not happy. It will soon again revert to a guerrilla movement of underground terrorist cells. Then other interests of the various actors will again come to the fore, the U.S. will no longer be needed and again be dispelled from the theater. Then the U.S. will again wonder why it did not learn from the earlier lesson.

Terrorists in Syria’s Aleppo Got Reinforcements from Turkey: Russia

Local Editor

Russian Foreign MinistryTerrorists have increased their activities ahead of the next week’s inter-Syrian talks, with terrorists in the Syrian province of Aleppo receiving reinforcements from Turkey, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said.

The much-anticipated talks between the Syrian government and different opposition groups are scheduled to take place in the Swiss city of Geneva on January 25.

"Unfortunately, in recent days, it’s especially noticeable that ahead of the planned start of the inter-Syrian negotiations in Geneva the activities of terrorist groups have intensified. Obviously, they’re trying to turn the tide in their favor on the battlefield,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said during a briefing in Moscow.

According to Zakharova, attempts to launch counter-attacks against the government forces were performed by Al-Nusra Front and Ahrar ash-Sham groups, which “got serious reinforcements from Turkey.”

The increased activity of the terrorists was witnessed in several suburbs of Damascus, Homs and Idleb provinces of Syria, she added.

Russia will continue providing humanitarian assistance to the civilian population in Syria, Zakharova stressed.

She reiterated that Russia’s Emergencies Ministry has performed 30 flights “not only to Syria, but also to Lebanon and Jordan” in January, delivering 600 tons of food and essentials for those affected by the conflict.

Besides humanitarian assistance, “Russia has also been involved in evacuation of citizens who want to leave dangerous areas," she added.

Zakharova said that Moscow was “surprised” by recent comments from Washington, in which “representatives of the US State Department said that they don’t see Russia's efforts in regard to providing humanitarian aid to Syria.”

“This is very strange, especially since the State Department allegedly sees everything, including Russian tanks that are being flown in or crawling into the territory of other states, but there’s no humanitarian aid in sight,” she said.

Turkey Says ‘Watching Closely’ Russian Troop Movements on Syrian Border

Ankara said on Friday it is closely watching" Russian troop movements in Syria near its border, after reports that Russian servicemen had deployed in the Syrian border town of Qamishli.

"I can say that Turkey is closely watching every military movement on its borders and especially the border with Syria," a government source in Ankara told AFP on Friday, asking not to be named.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Tugrul Turkes said in parliament on Thursday that he did not see any threat in Russia's movements on the border.

Turkish soldiers on Syria border
"We are aware of Russia's movements. Russia's movements in Qamishli cannot constitute a threat for Turkey, which is a member of NATO."

But the Turkish army has already reinforced security by digging trenches in the border zone, the Hurriyet daily said. Top Russian military officials, including figures from the GRU military intelligence service, had already visited Qamishli, it added.

The remarks comes as the Britain-based monitor the “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights” had said that Russia had sent a number of engineers to Qamishli to strengthen the runway and increase the capacity of an airport just south of the town.

Russia's reported move into Qamishli comes as Ankara and Moscow are experiencing their biggest crisis in years over the shooting down of a Russian war plane by Turkey on November 24.

Qamishli lies just south of the Turkish border town of Nusaybin.
