VIENNA, (PIC)-- Friends of humanity international called in a statement issued on Saturday on the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) to immediately release the two female Palestinian prisoners Raja’a Al-Ghoul and Ghofran Al-Zamil from its jails.

Friends of humanity stated that the administrative detention of human rights activist Raja’a Al-Ghoul, who suffers from heart disease, and the detention of journalist Ghofran Al-Zamil in Petah Tekva prison and their barbaric abduction from their homes represent a clear sample of Israel’s violent and aggressive practices against Palestinians.

The organization also expressed its deep concern about Zamil's life, as the IOA prevents her lawyer from meeting her.

It added that it fears the possibility of torturing Zamil by Israeli Shin Bet interrogators who are known for torturing Palestinians detainees in investigation centers, where they deliberately expose detainees to hard psychological and physical pressures, like tying them to chairs, walls, and depriving them from sleeping for several consecutive days.

It noted that the health status of Ghoul is calling for concern as well, as she suffers from heart disease, narrowing of the arteries and blood pressure, which puts her life at risk.

In another context, Al-Ahrar center for prisoners’ studies and human rights revealed the suffering of a Palestinian mother whose four sons are imprisoned in Israeli jails.

Fuad Al-Khafsh, the director of the center said that the family of Sheikh Sa’eed Bilal is one of the most sacrificing Palestinian families, where the sons were detained one after another in Israeli jails and their father passed away without being able to see them.

“For 18 years, the family did not gather around one table, and even if they met, the table would be incomplete and filled with memories of the late father who passed away,” Um Bakr, the mother of the four imprisoned sons, told the center.

Khafash underlined that what hurts the most in the story of this family is the father’s death without seeing his sons, adding that the Israeli prisons authority still refuses to reunite the four brothers in one prison and deliberately insists on separating them.
