OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) handed 17 new demolition orders to Palestinian families residing in Silwan village in occupied Jerusalem.

Fakhri Abu Diyab, member of the committee defending Silwan real estate, said that the IOA-controlled municipality of occupied Jerusalem has distributed eight notifications in Bustan suburb and the rest in Ein Al-Louze and Yemen suburbs.

He said that the municipality renewed the notifications to most of the 88 homes threatened with flattening in Silwan village, south of the holy Aqsa Mosque.

Abu Diyab said that the demolition orders issued late last month gave owners of those homes 20 days to appeal the orders.

He said that the demolition of the entire Bustan suburb is about to materialize, and asked Jerusalemites to frequent the protest tent to block the demolitions and to support the steadfastness of the targeted families.

In another context, the chairmanship of the Palestinian legislative council issued a statement on Sunday appreciating the "noble and courageous" stands of the forum of Islamic parliamentarians that was held in Kuwait recently for its support of Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque.
