Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei assured that the US threats of a military strike on Iran would actually harm America even ten times more. In a statement he delivered in Tehran before the Friday prayers, Imam Khamenei pointed out that these threats reveal the US weakness in dealing with issues rationally and objectively, explaining that “when the United States is not able to respond to the Islamic Republic’s speech with rationality, it refers to force.” In parallel, his eminence indicated that Europe and the United States are in their weakest phases on the political and economic levels, emphasizing that Iran would not back down on its standards and goals despite all the western actions against it. On another level, the Islamic Republic’s supreme leader highlighted the Islamic motives behind the Arab revolutions, considering that the West, which seeks to stay in control, is trying to transform the revolutions, and is resorting to collaborating Arab regimes in order to achieve that. He said that “their (the West) biggest goal now, after their failure in controlling the people, is to make up corrupt slogans and intimidate from Islam,” and addressed the “people of Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya” to be aware that they have achieved a revolution that it is not completed yet, and that is still in its beginning. Similarly, his eminence warned of the enemies’ conspiracies that aim at distorting the revolutions by paving the way for accepting the Zionist entity. “Israel will certainly be vanished… it should not, and will not remain, God Willing,” he added. Imam Khamenei also referred in his statement to the Egyptian revolution, considering that “Egypt has regained its advanced role in defending Palestine, and it should crush the Camp David treaty, because the Egyptian people want the great and free Egypt, not the collaborating one.” In the same context, the supreme leader stated that the Bahraini people will triumph and will achieve its goal despite attempts to ignore it and exclude it from media. He further assured that Iran did not interfere in Bahraini issues, indicating that if it had done that, it would have announced it just as it did when it supported the resistance against the Israeli occupation. “We haven't interfered in Bahrain, but if we had, the situation in that country would have been different,” Imam Khamenei said. |
