Free Speech Forum: Gilad Atzmon Faces His Critics (Notthingham)
19.30on Monday, 2nd. February at Canal House, Canal Street, Nottingham.
Gedling Borough Council banned Gilad from playing at Bonington Theatre, Arnold as result of complaints received about his ‘alleged racism.’ Atzmon has challenged his critics to present their evidence to the police if they think that he is guilty of incitement to racial hatred.
It is ironic that some people want to suppress freedom of expression at the present time. The complex issue of freedom of speech has been reignited in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo killings. Unavoidably this wider issue will be referred to on this occasion.
All are welcome to attend to hear Gilad and to challenge him if they wish -especially the persons who signed the letter to Gedling Borough Council!
