HOMS: It’s now official, the Russian Defense Ministry has approved the preparation of a new airbase for the RuAF in the area of Al-Shu’ayraat where another SAAF base was located. It appears that the coastal base at Humaymeem is insufficient to handle the number of sorties required to eradicate the terrorists from Syria while also being capable of striking targets in nearby Iraq when the government in Baghdad formally requests this intervention. It is expected that PM Al-‘Abbaadi will make the request shortly. The US has been curiously stagnant in its efforts to help both Syria and Iraq in their war against ISIS.

Al-Wa’er: This suburb of Homs City which was a vital and resilient part of the Syrian renaissance has finally fallen to the legitimate government in Damascus. The rats are leaving in piecemeal fashion under the protection of both the army and the Red Crescent. Soon the rodents will have departed. Many of the vermin have asked for amnesty and are being considered as we write.
It has been reported that Russian MiG 31B Foxhounds have been spotted in Latakia and that even more sophisticated interceptors are on the way.
Note, too, that the Syrian Army has now deployed its T90 front line battle tanks in Southern Aleppo and they have been seen by our relatives there. They are quite beautiful and impervious to the American TOW rocket. Al-Zahraa` and Nibbul may be the first beneficiaries of this new technology. Watch carefully for events there. It’s coming.
