Christians Should Develop ‘Righteous Indignation’

[ Ed. note – Righteous indignation. Jesus exhibited it on numerous occasions. So why do Christians of today find it so difficult to do likewise? Recently We Hold These Truthsheld a podcast on that very question.
The program examines the issue of “neo-Christians” (which can be defined as those who form their scriptural interpretations based upon what’s currently fashionable–the term is usually, though not always, synonymous to Christian Zionism) and why such Christians are so lackadaisical in the face of America’s endless wars and Israel’s brutal occupation of the Palestinians. What gives? Why can’t people who supposedly are followers of Jesus react with anger at blatantly obvious injustices? ]
From the program description:
Neo-Christians support America’s unjust wars without question and seem oblivious to what the famous Catholic theologian, Thomas Aquinas (1224-1275 AD) said, “He who is not angry when there is just cause for anger is immoral. Why? Because anger looks to the good of justice. And, if you can live amid injustice without anger, you are immoral as well as unjust.” The unjust military occupation of Palestine by Israel is an example where there is a lack of knowledge and righteous indignation, for the most part, by Neo-Christians. We Hold These Truths‘ Tom Compton recently learned from Palestinian Ambassador Maen Rashid Areikat (Chief Representative of the General Delegation of the PLO to the United States) about their new understanding that educating American Christians to the plight of Palestinians, is vitally important. Don’t miss this powerful, 17 minute program.
