I agree with Haitham. Egypt is not the enemy, I totally agree with Haitham, "the enemy within is much worse"
After reading Haitham's post and his defense, I would say, if I am in his shoes, I would send my criticism through the proper channels, which I believe he has.
Egypt is not the enemy, I mocked Tony of Mollistine for calling Hamas to launch a guerrilla war on the Wall (knocked down, before Cast Lead operation), for calling Hamas to Make changing Cairo regime its priority, for mocking Hamas for going to Cairo and insisting on Palestinian reconciliation,
Hamas never dealt with Egypt or any Arab country as an enemy. It's Pharaoh's regime who wrongly dealt with Hamas as an enemy threatening its national security, conspired and cheated Hamas prior to Cast Lead operation. In constructing the wall of shame and death Pharaoh dropped the fig leave covering his treason.
And here "the webmaster and editor of Palestine Blogs," is Refusing calling the Iron wall, a WALL OF SHAM, justifying tightening the siege on Gaza, "to stop smuggling drugs (one of many reasons) in and out from Gaza" and claiming that Rafah crossing is not closed, or closed for technical reasons.
"Why in the world any country open its borders without any regulations?" The Uprooted activist asked??? Egypt "have the right to protect their citizens" he answered
Haitham knows "that the tunnels are not used ONLY for food. In fact food is just a cover to many other businesses and even worse a passage for terrorist groups such as Al-Qaedaa and their likes which Gaza are full with these days. If this is not enough reason for Egypt to construct this iron wall, I don't know what can be a good reason. That not to mention the drugs business. Guess who is doing the trading and were the money goes. Definitely not to buy food for the Palestinians in Gaza"

Galloway's real agenda supported by Iran is to smear Egypt. As a "Palestinian" he "don't accept that anyone to use Palestine and Palestinian to pass his political agenda over Palestinian blood and brotherhood with Arab nations (not governments).

Finally, Haitham's post and comments shocked me, and raised big question on his real agenda. I wonder if Haitham may claim that Galloway recruited Richard Falk and Karen Abu Zayd in his propaganda supported by Iran to smear Egypt.

NEW YORK, (PIC)-- Richard Falk, the special UN rapporteur on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, has denounced the Egyptian construction of a steel wall along the borders with the Gaza Strip.
Falk in a statement to the UN radio on Wednesday said that he was angered by the news because it pointed to collusion between the Egyptian and American governments in building the wall that aims at blocking the tunnels used to smuggle food and other material for the Gaza people.
The rapporteur said that the tunnels reflected the volume of despair and frustration in Gaza as a result of the three-year-old siege, which has never been witnessed before in modern history since the end of World War II.He called for imposing economic sanctions on Israel to compel it into lifting the siege on Gaza, which blocks return of life to normal for around 1.5 million people.
Falk said that Israel clearly does not respond to diplomatic language, thus threats to use sanctions should be employed to lift the siege.

CAIRO, (PIC)-- A senior Egyptian engineer told the PIC on condition of anonymity that the wall is fully supervised by American military engineers, adding that the blueprints of the wall were prepared about six months ago and its construction started three months ago amid tight security.
He affirmed that there is a huge main pipe extending 10 kilometers from the sea in the west toward the east and branching into other perforated pipes directed towards the Palestinian side, where it will be used to pump salt water directly from the sea into the branch pipes planted in the ground in order to cause cracks and landslides leading to the destruction of Gaza tunnels.
For his part, Baha Al-Madhoun, the head of the Palestinian union of administrative employees, called on the Egyptian government to stop building the steel wall on Gaza borders so as not be a partner in the Israeli blockade on Gaza people and in the killing of children and women.
This came during a massive rally organized Tuesday by the alliance of Palestinian trade unions outside the UN headquarters in Gaza city in protest at the Israeli siege and Egypt’s steel wall.
Meanwhile, Egyptian authorities on Tuesday afternoon bombed three tunnels used for smuggling humanitarian needs on its borders with Gaza without any reported casualties.
The reporter of the Palestinian information center (PIC) said that the bombed tunnels were located near Salahuddin terminal, in Al-Barazil area and west of the Rafah border crossing.

I had seen Haitham's comment earlier in the day, and his wrong analysis also shocked me. I mostly with most of what you say, bot not with all of it, for I have no doubts regarding Haithams patriotism, this is out of question. I think he simply took to his heart Egypt's message and reacted -like many arabs do- with starry eyes towards it, thinking of what hyou call the arab nation, and the umma mirage and the whole thing. Pray tell, when did arabs do anything in favour of the Palestinian cause, that was not meant as an utilization for their own agendas?
And here is where I mostly disagree with you -and him- because, in my view, Egypt is the enemy as well, and needless to say I mean the egyptian zionist regime, not the egyptian people. Were it not for the nefarious role that Egypt has been playing since Hamas reached office, there would be NO siege. The siege and blockade do exist just because Egypt is is change of reinforcing them. Israel instructed it, but there would be no siege on Gazans if Egypt were not the treacherous and servile that it is. There would be no siege if the Gazas could move freely to and fro to Egypt to fulfil their basic needs. So, Egypt is the enemy, indeed, in cahoots with the USA and Israel.
While having frieds is better than having foes, and it must be added that there is no little foe, you (the palestinians) would forget about the arab's (states) love. States have no affections, no romanticism, and many of them have no principles either. They only act guided by their own interests. Period.
And the above includes Syria, despite there is a huge difference between the two, in what refers to palestinian issues. But don't miss that Syria is holding its position just because it is moved by its own interests, even if these currently benefit the palestinians.

Egypt, driven by its eagerness to please the empire and the zionists, has made a big diplomatic blunder by asking *in writing* to a a big team of international humanitarians to refer to israel for permission to pass from Egypt to Palestine(!)
Because, what Egypt is actually declaring is 1) we are not a sovereign state 2) third parties crossing Egypt must ask a foreign state for permission to to do it, and 3) consequently, we, the state of Egypt are a colony, or an autonomy of Israel...
Imagine! Could anyone believe that for anyone to pass through my country, he would have to ask for permission, let's say to Morocco? That's cracy!

Frankly I don't know Hiatham, I am commenting on his statements. Sometimes I post articles (copied from good sites) without reading it. I was about to post his Article yesterday, I read few lines and decide to ignore it.
I read it today only and it was a great shock.
I don't think we are in disagreemet about Egypt. at the outset I am talking about the people, not the regime. If I am in Hamas shoes I would avoid as long as possible a war with Egypt. Hamas did that exactly. Hamas avoided Egypt to buy time save the the little breathing window.
Now Hamas has no choice. Again if I am in Hamas Shoes, I would fight Egyptian regime indirectly, and politically. I wish you know Arabic and watch Pro-Hamas channels such as Aqsa, Howar, and Alquds.
That how I look at the so called Galloway's "Propagnda" war on Egypt. He may say what Hamas can't.
Indeed, Hamas canot afford to fight Egypt directly. It needs to treat Egypt with silk gloves, even if it has to swallow a lot of shit (as it indeed has already. Think of the murder by torture of Abu Zuhri's brother by Egypt). But it cannot afford to confront them directly, it has enough food on the plate already (the zios, the siege, Fatah traitors, the salafists within Gaza, and the so-so other parties who look like they're in need of some boiling, as the proverb says). Add the above, that for the foreseable future, Rafah border is the only gate that Gaza has to the outside world. Relations with Egypt cannot be spoilt, never mind what it takes. l.5 million people are dependent on it.
Don't doubt of Haithams love for Palestine. He simply did a wrong analysis, that's all. And we all wrong sometimes, don't we? Let's excuse it and think we are all in the same trench.

Yes Lu, we all commit mistakes, non of us holds the ultimate truth, But we should have the Virtue of admitting our mistakes.
In 1976, I demonstared against Syria "Invading" Lebanon. Time Proved that I was wrong, and I said that on many occasions. Syria, like every state has its own Agenda, and I have no problem with that. Iran two has it's own agenda, it passively helped removal of Talban and Saddam regimes.
Watching Syria since 1970, I would say the Syrian agenda was always in Harmony with Palestinian and Arab interests. I don't care what syria Say. I care for What Syria do. It's the creation of Israel and Syks Beko that turned the Arab Unity and Arab Umma into a mirage.
I wish evey Arab State would consider the Interest of its people, like syria do.
As for Egypt, its completely differant. The Regime betrayed its people its national security, when betrayed the Palestinian and Arab cause, after the burial of Naser.
I saw Haikal on Aljazara, revealing a Document hand written by Nasir, 10 moths before his death. its about a recorded discusion between the American Ambassadors in Cairo and Tel Aviv. It was said that Israel shall not be safe as long as Nasir is alive, that Israel would kill him by poison or sickness.
Nasir died after 10 months.
So your job is smearing Haitham and his sites and work? It is easy to do from anonymity in California, is it not? Haitham may have ideas or thoughts that are mistaken, and all who disagree with him can and should express that, and they should not be put on trial - but his good faith, his total devotion to his people and their total liberation is beyond doubt and your seeking to foment wars between activists and Palestinians who are against Jewish Occupation of Palestine and against all client regimes of the USA/Israel, including Egypt's I find negative. But, you can't argue with UP, he will turn it into a public smear war to discredit other activists. At any rate, his work, which you seem to want to in one fell swoop berate, has allowed the Palestinian voice to go viral over the web, and that includes yours. I think you are the only person I know who has doubted his integrity and his commitment to his people. It does not look nice on you, however much Haitham may write things that could be wrong on some counts, Haitham is not doing Pharaoh's work, and shame on you.
As you may have not noted, Stuart Littlewood, after reading Haitham's report, amended his own report, and he is in agreement with Haitham's questioning. You can see it all on Redress:

and now you can attack Redress and Littlewood, for the sake of consistency.
Littlewood takes direct suggestions from Haitham, that no one should ever have had been put in a condition to be begging or bargaining with Egypt. If you do it, then be prepared to do it. If you don't want to do it, say so and don't pretend, and if you want to break the siege, you break the siege, as Free Gaza was able to do, without genuflecting to anyone.
Awaiting your attack of Redress or Littlewood, for consistency's sake.
