- According to UN truce agreements after 1973 war Houran is a buffer zone.
- During the so-called uprising Assad crossed the RED LINES, and send his tanks to Houran, without no objection neither from Israel nor from UN peace keeping force.
The real story
Now let us think why the violent demonstrations started in Houran. It started their in Deraa, because Deraa is 6 Km from Jordanian, Palestine, Lebanese borders with Syria, and the Assad's security fist on it is not that strong. This fact explains the fierce reaction of Deraa governor, and why Assad decided to cross the RED LINE In his speech, Assad send messages to his people, and to Usrael.
To his people he said that the people of Deraa are supposed to be the first line defending Syria.
To Usrael, riding the peoples call for freedom and lifting emergency law, he hinted, that emergency law can't be lifted unless peace is achieved, as no piece is achieved, then its war, and Syria is ready for that.
Crossing the red lines was Assad's message, and both Israel and the UN got and understood the message. They Got a similar message from Erdogan,
